I've passed by and seen it at least 8 times, but I've never actually gone into the city.

Any recommendations of things I should do while I'm there?

Go to main street, there's a few cool places to shop and such there.

And get a streetside hotdog from the stands. I never got one. xD

Oh, and go to the Emipire State Building if you get the chance.

...There are a million of them here.

    Lets see things to do...

    In manhattan:
    -Chinatown,
-Empire State Building if you haven't been,
    -Central Park,
    -Statue of Liberty,
-Times Square (the place in my sig) at night though
-Also its pretty warm (we're in the 70's for the entire week) so you should go to South Street Seaport.
The museum of natural history is also nice

    Brooklyn:
    Brooklyn Museum of Art
    Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
    Brooklyn Botanical Garden

    Bronx:
Go to the Bronx Zoo...(thats it)

I cant remember anything for Queens, its nice in some parts, but also very boring. Staten Island...no one really likes Staten Island. Most New Yorkers forget its a borough.

Yeah, for Queens I would say go to the beach if it's nice.
My Grandparents own an apartment right across from the beach, and I could go across the street whenever I wanted, etc.

If you have some extra time you could go to Long Island, but it's mostly suburbs. My parents were from there, and some KHV members live there like Advent, and some others.
    I think. xD

Don't bother going to the beach, it's pretty warm out but the water hasn't had enough time to absorb the heat. It'd be too cold to swim in.

And yeah, there's not much to do here on Long Island unless you like shopping malls and suburbia. I think Adventureland is open, though.

I am actually in the city right now
    Visit
Chinatown(I know this place quite well the Chinatown Icecream factory,I recomend you to drop by there. The resturants are amazing so I recomend eating there)
    Little Italy
    MoMA(Muesum of Modern Art)
SoHo(Erm that's more for shopping, but there some cool stores)
NYC is a big city so depending how you are going to stay I would look up these places on line and narrow down what you want to see. Then calculate if you ate going to need a one day unlimited(as many rides on subways or buses for on day) or a one day limited(seven rides on subways or buses for one day) metro card. Those might not be the exact names but the descriptions are exact. Oh and wear comfortable shoes, even with the train you'll be doing A LOT of walking!
    Have fun!

    I live in Mahattan D;

Oh! If you really want to, go to Coney Island. It's nice, but they closed half the park for reconstruction.

In Times Square, they have a lot of things to do xD, so you can choose a lot of places to eat. Go to the Toys R Us store and it's epic.

Definitely check out the Toys R Us, they have a lot of stuff. xD
Aside from that, if you have time go to Chinatown. It's one of the only places in NYC where you'll find REAL Chinese food. And there's some places where you can find anime/manga stuff.

And if you're into Tim Burton, check out the Museum of Modern Art, they have a Burton exhibit going. 8D
