Skyward Sword

I may be looking before I leap, but why is it that the graphics on the Zelda: Skyward Sword are worse than those for Twilight Princess? Shouldn't they be just as fine? If not better?

 

Perhaps this totally official and in no way fanmade trailer will change your opinion?

why world? Why have you abandoned me? Why can't we have great graphics like Twilight Princess again?

 

It's not about graphic quality, it's about art style.

I don't think it haves to do with the graphics looking worse than Twilight Princess.


I guess you could say the graphics are the game's own, you know? Like how the graphics on Windwaker looked. The graphics shouldn't matter, as long as it gives you a feeling of the game's character.

 

Eh, I'm a graphics guy. I enjoyed how real the characters looked. This almost looks like...I don't know. Almost like they made patches of something, stuck it together, and made this. I can't take it. Not that I wouldn't mind trying the game. I just probably wouldn't buy it. I'm not a Wii person

 

Just wait for the PS3 version of Skyward Sword that's coming out in 2012.

 

Man, I love the new art style. It looks like a 3D Minish Cap, in my opinion. And also, Minish cap made me squeal with happiness.

 

Twilight Princess and Wind Waker had a baby it called it Skyward Sword.
Deal with it.

 

It's a nice mix of realism (Twilight Princess) and cartoon (Wind Waker etc). It also reminds me of Okami.

The graphics are looking the same as TP.
The art is different.

The difference between graphics and art style are that graphics refer to things like polycount in models where art style refers to how it is designed to look in order to set a mood. TP=more serious and thus more serious art style. SS=Less serious looking and thus a less serious art style.
