What was that, like six-seven years ago?

Original ongoing series has been out for about 13 years, and the one shot concept has been out since 1997. I feel bad for the youngins, it's practically as old as they are...

I still read it though in my spare time. At least that still has potential. Bleach should have ended already. But I'm not here to beat the dead horse.

I still like Naruto, not the greatest anime/manga in the universe but better than other...

*waits for the One Piece fans*

Nobody liked Naruto, everyone was too busy being in love with Berserk. Especially the ten year old demographic of Naruto.

The reason I like Naruto is mainly comprised of three things:

    I. I like the story. It keeps me going, even though it's very Naruto-ish, it is really meticulous and still has surprises.

II. The art is astounding. Masashi Kishimoto-Sensei is an amazing artist. He draws so well, all of the backgrounds are done by him, he hardly ever uses screentones or speedlines to cover up empty space. I have a lot of respect for that man.

III. I want to become a Manga-ka, so observing Naruto and how it is successful, what Kishimoto-Sensei does, et cetera, helps me better my art.

I watched all of Naruto. Then Naruto Shippuden began airing (sub for both btw) so I started that and thought to myself "You know what? This series is way too damn long and bland." Dropped it and never looked back. No anime should be more then 50 episodes total, except maybe DBZ and Gintama. I've honestly lost complete interest in 99% of the Shonen anime/manga over the last few years. Never liked One Piece or Bleach. (and before you ask yes, I did give them both a shot).

(and to answer the op's question yeah, this was all at least 5 years ago or so now since I think Shippuden started in '07)

I gave up on the anime when they ended the first half with fillers. I hate fillers. However, I still keep up with the weekly manga and hope it finally ends so I can see what happens.

Same with Bleach and One Piece...

Oh lol, I remember Nauto being such a big inspiration to me when I was like, I dunno 11-13 when I did karate.

I still read the manga at times though, just for the sake of looking at the art.

I felt the series prolonged everything and made a 1 episode concept run on for 5.
It's a very expanded universe when it doesn't need to be.

I remember when everybody where I live liked Naruto. All the neighborhood boys would discuss the latest issue and two of my friends in particular would memorize the seals and have pretend battles with eachother. I always hated it, even though I'd never tried it, because that's all they would talk about and they said Naruto was cooler than Sora. Blasphemy.

But, I just started reading it about...idk, two, three weeks ago? and I like it. It's not spectacular, but it's not too bad. I plan on catching up soon, and then I'll probably still follow the story as new issues come out.

I watched the first Naruto...skipped like 20 episodes towards the end and finished it. Started whatever the next Naurto was and kinda forgot about it. xD

The only reason I am glad of it's birth was so LittleKuriboh could spoof abridge it. Dat **** good.

Still, a few of the concepts it used helped me control some of my writing elements in my stories. I learnt how to introduce characters of importance at a pace that makes it entertaining and still gripping.

    ... Are you kidding me?

I was slightly into it and read it a while ago when the original was still running in Shonen Jump. I watched most of Shippuden. I catch up every few months.

It remains one of the more boring and bland series I have seen to this day due to absolutely zero character depth and development (exempting Gaara, but he does not count anyway, being an easy turnaround without depth).

By learning how not to do it?

    Got you.

I used to watch it near religously up until i was about 14-15. The episodes started to get horribly repetitive and those "loner" speeches at times. Not to mention the immense filler material presented as well.

I still read the manga weekly, however, as I have been curious as to how it ends, and I have been growing rather fond of the Hatred theme that's been running for a while.

    And dat artwork. <3
