Birth by Sleep Questions about some possibly insignificant things...

So as I'm sure everyone noticed that in the Secret ending for KHIIFM+ It shows Terra, Aqua, and Ventus coming together and at the beginning they all pick up a keyblade.

Ventus picks up Riku's The Way To The Dawn
Terra picks up Sora's Kingdom Key
Aqua picks up Mickey's Kingdom Key D

Fast forward to Birth By Sleep, when you get to that point those keyblades are nowhere to be found. Is there any explanation as to why their keyblades were there in the secret ending? or were they there merely to confuse us into thinking it was Sora, Riku, etc, because at the time it came out we had no idea who these people were.

Also another minor, possibly insignificant detail, is that in that same secret ending Ventus was left handed. Unlike in Birth By Sleep where he is right handed. Any ideas on why that might have been changed?

 

Things changed from then to the final product, that's all. The use of the the 3 keyblades was supposed to be symbolic, as in Ventus might have originally been going to be the one who did the keyblade ritual on Riku and Terra to Sora, but that changed. Aqua's still makes sense, Mickey's Kingdom Key D seems to come from the Realm of Darkness which Aqua explores.

 

I thought it was their fate? Aqua ended up in the Realm of Darkness (Kingdom Key D), Ven in the Realm of in Between (Way to the Dawn), and Terra in the Realm of Light (Kingdom Key).

 

That makes sense, but Ven isn't exactly in the Realm of In Between is he? He's in Sora's heart, right?

 

The thing is that he's sleeping. If you remember Re:CoM, Riku was asleep in some greyish world that could have been the Realm of In Between. Besides that, when he was talking to Vexen, Castle Oblivion was also referred to as a sort of "Realm of Twilight". Since Ventus' sleeping body is in the heart of CO, you could technically say that he's in the Realm of In Between.
