Birth by Sleep Question on the final scenes*SPOILER*

Im totally lost now. At the final scene where Aqua and "Terra" face off. Terra lost and did what with his heart?

I remember him pointing the keyblade at himself then he drops his own keyblade(i presume losing his keyblade privilages) and falls into the darkness.

What do you think guys?

Terra's body had been overun by MX's heart (done when MX released his heart with his keyblade), Terra's own heart resides in his armour, which we know as the lingering sentiment from KH2FM+

 

I don't think that's the case. No where has it been said that Terra's Heart is in the Lingering Sentiment. On the contrary in the secret ending when Terra and MX have their little word battle Terra indicates that both his and MX's Hearts are inside Apprentice Xehanort vying for dominance of his personality. The actual dialogue I'm talking about refers to Eraqus' heart residing within Terra's and that if MX were to try to absorb Terra's heart Eraqus would do something or other negative to MX. For Eraqus to be a threat to MX Terra's Heart must therefore reside still in his body. That's how Terra was to regain control after the battle with Aqua and turn the Keyblade on himself. What that action actually resulted in has not been translated yet.

I'm inclined to believe that what animates the Lingering Sentiment is either Terra's Soul or the strong feelings of regret he left behind.

 

Without a soul, he'd be dead.
Before it was said -by who, I can't remember- that his heart was in the Lingering Sentiment, it was rumored to be his Keyblade acting on its own with his armor, which is why it spoke strangely.

 

Well we can't rule out Xehanort's soul coming into Terra's body with his heart but regardless I've not read or seen anything OFFICIAL saying it's his heart. I haven't even seen someone's hack translation of any BBS material saying its his heart and lord knows there's been enough hack translations going around since the 9th. At any rate IF it is his Heart than that secret ending makes nooooo sense at all.

Sentiment- Feelings or Emotion.

Terra's memories and feelings of the past.​

As Terra lost himself to Master Xehanort's control some of his feelings and memories remained in his armor. We know the Lingering Sentiment is capable of anger, sorrow and even recall events that occurred in the past. Now for the most part whatever is inside of the Armor is something of Terra's. It has he memories of selecting Riku for the keyblade and his urge to defeat Master Xehanort. It can't be his heart, as that is within Xehanort. Otherwise we wouldn't have seen MX and Terra discussing who would end up in control of Xehanort's heart. Terra's body and soul are both in Xehanort as well otherwise Xemnas wouldn't have been able to form.
