    Oh, my.
So, I've begun reading this book called One Hundred And One Ways by Mako Yoshikawa.
It alternates between twenty-first century America and old Japan, switching between the stories of a modern, Japanese-American woman who's (mostly) thoroughly Americanized named Yukiko and her grandmother, whom she is named for, who has been sold into the geisha world.
While the storyline is rather slow(in a good way) and very slice-of-life, the writing style is amazing. While I'm probably going to sound rather superficial in this statement, her writing is very...Japanese. It's so elegant and smooth without the use of bombastic diction, and it flows so easily when it's read. It's an incredible book-I haven't been able to put it down for the past few days.
