So a few weeks ago I was forced to participate in the One Act plays by my friends. I got casted for two parts in a series of Monty Python sketches. It's my first time participating in any sort of theatrical production (aside from in fourth grade, where my lines were basically cut out completely) and I am really nervous. D: D: D:
    I feel like vomiting.
    help me plz khv

Look at the back wall if there is any. Or have a friend sit in a spot you can easily see and stare at them if you have to look at the audience.

Wish ya luck! (Btw, my first play was Peter Pan, and I was him. xD)

Thanks everyone. I have to leave in a half an hour and I go on at 9:20. D:
Thanks for that, that might help. I am more or less staring at my friend ... for the first skit thing, but the second one I have to look directly at the audience for the while... coincidentally, that's usually the part I mess up around.

    Survival tips:
BREATHE. I cannot stress this enough.
Act like you would at rehersal.
Stay calm - chances are, the lights will obscure your vision of the audience so that maybe the first row or two is visible.
Don't piss off your stage manager. This is very very very important.

    Good luck, Mist'ika, I'm sure you'll be fine. c:

I know it's probably too late, but here's some advice anyways for future reference I guess. c:

I used to be quite shy, especially when I had to do anything drama related. But now I love getting up there in front of people, even though I'm still a bit quiet socially (not shy, just quiet). Whenever I'm doing anything with drama, I get into this mindset: I make myself believe that the audience is made of close friends. Even if you mess up, no one's going to remember you messing up. Just have fun. Nervousness comes with acting in front of people, but ignore the audience. Their job is just to enjoy the show. :>

I finished a little while ago, it went really well. We fudged up a few lines but we recovered quickly and no one noticed. c:

Glad you had fun. Monty Python is the shiznat. That's the funny thing about that though is if you goof up you can keep going and no one will notice and if they did, they may just think it's creative and meant to happen xD

It was fun when you got into it no?
And once you are having fun then you can recover real easily and no one does notice because they don't know the show.
Even if the script was exactly like the official Monty Python and you make a mistake then the audience members who know Monty Python really well would be like - ahahaha it's like their own version and it's still funny!
    XD

xD It's okay, Monty Python is meant to be played around with. That was the point really, a lot of it had to be improvised. That's what made it so awesome =]

I kinda wish I could do something like that =/
