I just heard that American accents cause non-Americans ears to bleed.

Is this true?

I'am American so I dont know.
But when I went to Boston for our schools trip the Bostoians(sp>) were making fun of our New York accents

 

Everyone knows that the Northern Irish accent is the best in existance. x]

 

Why is the american accent picked on so much? I mean we don't make fun of British or Australian accents.

In fact we revere them, it's very hard to sound as gay as british men do. And truthfully we really do try as hard as we can to understand the australian drawl. French accents are always fun to listen to, and to watch as well, especially the way they always look like horses when they speak. The mistake of the r's and the l's and w's made by asians is just hilarious. And the german "VHAT'JOO SPEEK UFF?" kinda accent just makes the american accent seem so eliquint.

If it weren't for all those other idiotic accents out there, the american accent might sound unintelligent. Really, we should thank you europeans and asians for your drawls, they make our langauge seem better.
