It relates to video games so I figured I'd ask you guys.

I need a list of the top three games for the following:
    NES
    SNES
    N64
    GameCube
    Wii
    Gameboy
    Gameboy Color
    Gameboy Advance/SP
    DS
    Sega Saturn
    Dreamcast
    PlayStation
    PlayStation 2
    PlayStation 3
    PSP
    Xbox
    Xbox 360

As well as any games you're looking forward to for the 3DS.
Give good reasons for your choices too, "it's awesome" is not a good reason. Actually explain things please.
Many thanks to whomever decides to post. :]

    • Super Metroid- I really like this game, the graphics are amazing and it has a very engaging story (Oh yeah, Im SOOOO descriptive)
    • Final Fantasy VI- I would say its my favorite FF. (Yeah, I suck at being descriptive)
    • Harvest Moon- yeahhhh, not alot of people are going to agree with me on this one. Its more of a personal favorite :v

I might edit this list, because I suck and I need to think of better reasons why I put these here.

I can't do every system, but here we go:

    PlayStation 2
    Kingdom Hearts
C'mon, it's KH-Vids, you must be expecting this. But anyway, KH kind of had an appeal for a large audience; young children were interested because of the Disney characters (as well as some adults, haha) and the Square fans were drawn in by the Final Fantasy elements. It really wasn't too bad of a hack and slash if you ask me, because you had abilities and magic to use. It was a hack and slash if you made it a hack and slash. Collecting all the items and the synthesizing was a great addition because it made the game exciting even after you'd completed the story. And really I think you just have to take into account how emotionally affecting the thing is. c:

    Final Fantasy X
Does it matter if I haven't beaten it? While it is incredibly linear and the battle system could get dull after just an hour of playing, FFX still wows me. The graphics are pretty remarkable for its time, respectable even by today's standards, imo. Each area and person was detailed and fit the atmosphere of the world perfectly. Gorgeous soundtrack (To Zanarkand, oh man ;___; ). Beautiful story. And the side quests are so much fun! BLITZBALL. Blitzball is amazing once you get the hang of it, I could play it for hours on end. The Al-Bhed language books were tons of fun to collect, and while I never put much strategy in it, the sphere grid was a nice addition.

    Final Fantasy XII
This is making my list solely because of its battle & leveling system. Your characters don't have those defined rules of what the developers want them to be; if you've got the patience, you can use the license board to make your people mages, soldiers, ninjas, or anything in between. It requires work and decision making on the part of the player, because while it's tempting to just focus on getting heavy armor and huge swords, you have to decide who's going to be a healer, a mage, or whatever. On top of that, the method for controlling how your party members react to battle went along with that sense of freedom; with Gambits, you could tell say Fran that the very second she sees someone get hit by a Blind spell, she's going to be casting Esuna right away. Vaan on the other hand could rush in and hack away at any beast he sees.
It just has this huge sense of freedom, even with regards to being a game where you can basically travel wherever you damn well please.

    Xbox
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I'm still astonished by the amount of time and care the developers put into making this game. The basis of it is choosing whether you'd like to be a Dark Sider or a Light Sider, and from there, the game can change dramatically. Everything from the small conversations you have with your party members to how you handle the problems you encounter to how the game plays out is affected by this. Now, this has become a bit more common in recent days, but this game was made in 2003. It, I think, really gives it that feel of a more traditional tabletop role playing game.

    bleh okay i'm done

You also forgot about the Mark hunting sidequests.

Gamecube- Zelda Windwaker- Some people really hate the art, but I think it's really cute. Just like any Zelda game, it's very enjoyable and there are also some sidequests you can do alongside the main quest(which has an interesting storyline and an admirable goal i.e saving your sister). There are many islands to chart and map on the Great Sea and this will most likely entertain you for quite some time. Most of the puzzles and dungeons don't really require a walkthrough to solve(but some of them are easy to get lost in) and overall, this was one of my favorite games for the Gamecube.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle- The storyline is really engaging and mysterious(well...it was for me back then....which was a while...). The levels are great fun and there are many secret items to find for the characters which makes for great replay value. Plus, the 2 player verses can get really competitive in Races. And with all Sonic games, there's the Chao Garden to raise your chaos to grow up healthy, strong and fast to compete in the Chao Races and Chao Karate. If your chao wins, they get a toy and under certain conditions, other special things happen. This was my first game for the Gamecube and one of my favorite games. I don't play it much anymore, but this game can be replayed multiple times for various in-game reasons. Don't judge me.

Super Smash Brothers Melee- I don't actually own the game, but I've always played it with my friends and it's always very competitive and a whole lot of fun. It's great for tournament style gaming at a party and according to my friends who are just about expert players, they prefer Melee to Brawl. According to them, Melee has a faster reflex time than Brawl does allowing for fast movements and reaction times for them. I, myself, can't tell the difference. Regardless, it's still a very entertaining and enjoyable game multiplayer wise.

    1. Pokemon Stadium- This game... this game is amazing. Okay, part of that is the nostalgia talking, but this game is seriously one of the best games I've ever played. Putting the fact that it's Pokemon aside, being able to use characters from a handheld RPG to help you out in a home console RPG was and still is a really cool concept, and using your own monsters in the battle, seeing them in full 3D, never gets old. The battle modes are plentiful, with each one having trainers with different configurations of types that you need to formulate at least a semblance of a strategy to defeat. This game is also fairly long, having you beat the main story/campaign/quest/whatever you would call it twice over, though they're not entirely identical, luckily. The content stays fresh. The replayability is astronomical: this is a game that I know I will play for years to come, and many feel the same.

    2. Mario Party 2- This game is what embodied Mario Party before it started going downhill a few incarnations later. The minigames were and remain to feel fresh and genuinely fun. They bring the iconic Mario quirkiness with them, and make the board game gameplay actually fun. Who would think a video game about board games would be fun? Nintendo. And they did it right.

    3. Banjo Tooie- Probably my favorite platformer/adventure game of all time. This game's concept is just weird as hell, and the gameplay isn't any less weird. It's interesting, and that's half of the fun of it. Of course, flying around shooting eggs at your enemies is pretty damn awesome too. Also, the music is just fantastic. It's so simple, but so entertainingly quirky at the same time, it'll be stuck in your head forever.

    PlayStation 3

    1. inFamous- The urban setting isn't exactly foreign for a superhero game, but the city looks like something entirely post-apocalypse, and the electric superpowers are interesting and completely fun to play around with. The story was really enticing as well, though far-fetched at times.

    2. Batman: Arkham Asylum- Pretty much everything good about this game has been raved about, but I'll talk about it anyway. The combat, while button-mash-tastic at times, is really fun and fluid. The detective sections are very well done, with the forensics tools making you really keep an eye open for evidence. The setting can also be absolutely horrifying at times. Some of the sections of the game are an absolute terror to play late at night.

    3. Soul Calibur IV- I'm a sucker for games with customization. Aside from the plethora of options for character creation, ranging from armor to top hats and monocles, the gameplay is fun not only for casual players who wanna pick up and play, but for seasoned old pros who know every combo there is.

    PSP

    1. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep- lolomg kingdum harts wuts dat? This game is simply beautiful. It took KH2's fast-paced gameplay, and actually made it challenging. Whereas KH2 was about as difficult as taking candy from a sleeping baby, BBS will challenge you, especially on critical mode. The bosses and even the enemies are pretty much all challenging, and not cheaply challenging, challenging in the sense that you know that if you tweak your strategy in a certain way, you'll win easily, even if that isn't the outcome. The deck system works really well and is reminiscent of FFVII's materia system. Melding new spells and attacks is fun and the abilities integrated into them just mixes things up even more for the better. The graphics are also stunning, and I'm not one to normally care much about graphics. This game looks just as good as KH1, possibly even KH2.

    2. Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters- The Ratchet and Clank series is awesome. If you say otherwise, you're wrong. Its art style is as quirky and fun as its writing, and they both shine in this game as much as they did in the past entries in the series. The weapons are as mind-blowingly upgradeable and destructive as ever, and the arsenal is as respectably large as that of any of the main series's games. Simply put, this is pretty much a perfect port of a respected PS2 series, and I love that.

    3. Star Wars: Battle Front II - Yeah, this game gets a lot of gripes for its PSP counterpart, but I actually do like it. The controls have to be dumbed down a decent bit due to the lack of dual analog sticks and only having two shoulder buttons, but in my opinion, the button layout is as close to perfect as you're going to get with a PSP shooter, and it does work fairly well. The game is remarkably similar to its PS2 brother, only lacking a few stages. The graphics are noticeably downgraded, which is one of the few downsides to this game, in my opinion. The lack of voices on the hero characters is also disappointing, but the gameplay makes up for it in true Star Wars: Battlefront style.

    Xbox

    1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II- One of my favorite games of all time. Even though this was rushed out to make it in time for the Holiday season, this game is simply wonderful. The pool of force powers is diverse, and each one has its own unique niche in your arsenal. The powers and abilities you choose for each character truly can make any party member useful, and your main character will be god-like by the final boss. The ability to choose your own path is also very well done. Choices you make affect your dark vs light side position, and how much your party members like you will be reflected in how similar they are to you in that regard. The gameplay is fantastic, and is weaved into the story seamlessly. The soundtrack is also one of the best I've ever heard: it sounds just like a Star Wars film with its epic orchestral pieces thrown in at just the right times. This is a game you can play ten times and still wanna give it another go.

    2. Halo 2- Yeah, yeah, make fun of me for liking Halo. I'm not even a huge fan of it, I just give it a spot on my list because of the fact that I am not a fan of shooters at all, but I can always enjoy Halo matches. I don't know what it is about Halo; the weapons aren't terribly creative, the settings are kinda generic sci-fi, the story is convoluted, and the characters are completely indistinguishable in the matchmaking mode. It just has some kind of fun factor somewhere in the gameplay that I can't put my finger on. Halo 2, for me, will always be that game that I don't like, but like at the exact same time.

    3. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy- This game is just awesome. You can't help but feel badass with all of the things combat-wise you have available to you in this game. One minute you're shooting up baddies with a repeating laser rifle, next, some come in closer for melee, and you whip out your lightsaber and electrocute them with force lightning. While Knights of the Old Republic restricted you to turns, this game is a flat-out action title that lets you go to town with your Jedi antics. The multiplayer battle mode is also insanely fun, allowing you to play as an evil Jedi wookie against your foolish Luke Skywalker friends. This game is just pure, unadulterated fun.

Even considering that KotORII was a bit of a disappoint in comparison to the first for me, it is still incredible. <33 Though a lot of my love for it is sustained by Atton.

-Perfect Dark - Probably one of the few shooters I actually like. It's repetitive at times but the levels, the difficulty (being a challenge but not impossible on some levels), the plot, the characters and some of the weapons are great. The whole theme of James Bond meets Independence Day feel is surprisingly welcoming and not forced like most shooter themes are these days and it constantly jumps from spy-fiction missions to sci-fi. Also, has Elvis' alien race are probably the most badass non-badass looking aliens of all time.
-007: Goldeneye - Pretty much the same as Perfect Dark. Being the first shooter I ever played it set a standard and not many have surpassed it. The game is extremely memorable, the game is actually fun while still somewhat following the plot of the movie it was based on, yet scaling that up to a higher level.
-Mario 64 - This game is very annoying but so god damn addicting. It's got some great themes and ideas, with the whole paintings being worlds and stuff. It was very entertaining and managed to be different from the gameboy games I played while remaining to be virtually the same, only in 3D.

    Gameboy Colour
-Pokemon Red/Blue - Obviously one of the big obvious ones, back then it was a new thing and pretty awesome. The whole concept was dark and still managed to be child friendly, mostly thanks to the cartoon though.
-Pokemon TCG - I never knew how addicting card games could be on consoles until this game. It was just mad how addictive it was and how it actually plays like the real card game.
-Rayman (I forget which number I had) - Very tricky level designs, awesome powers and no limbs to connect his floating body parts. Every child's first trip.

    DS
-KH Days - Good fun, hard for a KH though. It made magic useful again and had an interesting equipment and skills set up but the multiplayer having to be close range was lame and the plot wasn't great (it is KH after all >>) but was very entertaining. I do like the lots of characters to play as in multiplayer though, since you could do it solo.
-Pokemon SoulSilver/HeartGold - Lots of nostalgia and lots of great new features to go with the old ones. I don't need to explain everything else since it's sort of the same as what I said about red/blue.
-FFIII - Considering this is the only other game I have on DS except another Pokemon one, I do like it. The battle system was old school and good but the classes and skills stuff confused me at first and I keep getting lost. But it is lots of fun.

    PlayStation
-FFIX - Good gameplay (I like turn based games), good plot and characters which could be intereperated by how differently people read the dialogue (Vivi is badass and not a little girl voiced boy who hangs out with a shrunken version of Squall's nemesis) and it was a mind opening game for me when I first got a hold of it. I totally didn't know any of this roleplaying or turn based stuff existed. Granted, I was a child at the time who had spent most of my time playing Spyro.
-Spyro 3 - Yes. A dragon. Instant sale. Who has to fight random monsters in a brightly coloured world with the same old platforming stuff except he can fly and breathe fire and other stuff. THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD. That and Crash Bandicoot.
-Hogs of War - People always give me a blank stare when I mention this game. It is probably my favourite PS1 game ever. Hogs dressed a soldiers from around the world in the view of a Rik Mayall style stereotypes and they had hilarious names, dialogues and weapons. It was basically, super-British Worms with pigs in costumes but was 3D and had more strategy than "AIM AND FIRE A SHEEP" which always worked in Worms.

    PlayStation 2
-Shadow Hearts Covenant - Like I said with FFIX, I like these types of games and the whole theme of it was great for someone like me. It was set in the world war but you never really got involved with it, it had multiple aspects of other countries in a more funny view and the humour somewhat fit in well with the gothic and dark tones of the plot. But I am now petrified of Indian Wrestlers. Also, the Judgement Ring system was a great improvement on the already fun turn based system that I was used to from FF games. Also, turning into demons was cool.
-Onimusha 2 - I liked Onimusha 3 just as much but Onimusha takes the cake thanks to multiple plot routes that are effected by interaction with other characters plus the optional characters being playable through these routes and the vast improvement on gameplay over Onimusha Warlords. It was just a great and fun game in a good series.
-Devil May Cry 3 - Instant super boost over the gameplay of it's previous releases, a great cast of characters and good voice acting (lol Power Rangers are everywhere in DMC) and it was difficult, it was actually challenging in and out of combat.

    PlayStation 3
-Demon's Souls - Strange gameplay controls yet very understandable and once you get used to them they are pretty interesting and good. A nice concept on plot and an interesting online multiplayer with the whole invading other games, aiding other games and randomly seeing a peek at other games going on through phantoms. It's only as difficult as you let it be though. The only problem I've had is no pausing, even when offline.
-Dragon Age: Origins - A great game that uses western fantasy well and hints about real life things, such as religion, in hilarious ways yet also being serious. The voice acting was great and the gameplay was somewhat fun, but I think it was the characters that really made the game and the interactions between them and the player.
-MGS4/MGO - The game was really fun and had lots of features and so much replayability but had far too long cutscenes. The game hadn't really changed much, they just altered some of the features and added a few sub features. MGO on the other hand is one of my favourite online games, if I wasn't a tight ass with money I'd probably still be playing it with all the expansions. Lots of fun for fans of the past games.

    PSP
-Birth By Sleep - lololol. But seriously, the gameplay was a vast improvement over KHII IMO. The plot is still a bit iffy and some of the voice acting is as bad as usual but it is a really fun game with lots of fun mini-games, even if they are annoying at first.
-Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - at first I didn't like it over Portable Ops but after it finally got going (I didn't realise that they where still not finished giving me things after I got all the soldier job things) it really became fun and kinda tactical when you aren't even in the regular missions. Like that sending soldiers off to do battles while you're on a mission. Good fun.
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance - sure the game could of been better, but hell, it was crap loads of fun and a great game for Marvel in-universe crossover fans. I liked the gameplay, I liked the characters you got to choose from, I kinda liked the plot and the dialogue was great, I liked how there was a thing where if you had certain characters with you when you encountered enemies they'd have different dialogue. Either way, it could of been improved and had more characters but I've still not played the second so I have no idea if they have.

Yeah, I hear you. The story was much more black-and-white, and the romances weren't very interesting. That aside, Atton is still a tank. <3

It's difficult to say that there even were romances. :c I loved the Atton/Disciple conflict for fem!Exile, but it just never amounted to anything.
But listening to the voice files for Atton's supposed death lets me forgive for that.
And the m!Exile ones were just weird. Visas scared me because she wanted to be my love slave and Brianna so creepy with the whole "let's fight with our clothes off," "battle will show me your heart" thing.

And yeah, I agree, it was pretty black and white; either you were a Dark Sider and you killed everyone or you were a Light Sider and didn't do much. The endings were still the same and all. Just wasn't very interesting to experience. :/

    NES :
    The Legend Of Zelda 1&2
    Metroid
    Super Mario Bross 1,2&3
They' re the only NES games that I could play and still enjoy in 2010.

    Snes :
The Legend Of Zelda : A Link To The Past
    Super Metroid
    Yoshi' s Island
    Seiken Densetsu 2&3
Same reason. Super Metroid is the best Metroid ever. Yoshi' s Island is the best Mario ever.

    N64 :
    Ocarina Of Time
What ? No Metroid games ? Oh well ... Paper Mario then ! ^^
    Super Mario 64
Oddly I' d rather play some Nes/Snes games

    Gamecube :
    Resident Evil Rebirth/Zero/Code Veronica X/4
    Baten Kaitos
Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes
The Legend Of Zelda : The Windwaker
I especially enjoy RE Rebirth/Zero, RE are just action games since the fourth installment and I' d rather play some REAL survival horror game. Same goes for Mario and Metroid, they' re not at their best anymore.

    Wii :
    Silent Hill : Shattered Memories
The Legend Of Zelda : Twilight Princess
Resident Evil : The Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles
I don' t like the Wii, I' m still wondering when/if Nintendo will pull their head out of their ars.

    Gameboy/GBColor :
The Legend Of Zelda : Link' s Awakening/Oracle Of Seasons/Oracle Of Ages
    Metroid 2
    Super Mario/Wario Land
The best Zelda in the whole series remains Link' s Awakening IMO.

    GBAdvance :
Kingdom Hearts : Chain Of Memories
The Legend Of Zelda : Minish Cap
Final Fantasy IV, V and VI
    The Final Fantasy are masterpieces.

    DS :
    Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Valkyrie Profile : Covenant Of The Plume
    Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger with the added movies shines in all its glory.

    Sega Saturn / Dreamcast :
No idea, I never owned them. Shenmue 1&2 I guess ...

    Playstation :
    Silent Hill
    Resident Evil 1,2&3
    Chrono Cross
    Vagrant Story
    Xenogears
    Final Fantasy VII,VIII&IX
Castelvania : Symphony Of The Night
All of them are now legend. FFVII is the best FF ever. Don' t ask me to pick just three of them.

    Playstation 2 :
    Silent Hill 2,3&4
    Forbidden Siren 1&2
    Metal Gear Solid 2&3
    Kingdom Hearts 1&2
    Final Fantasy X and XII
    Valkyrie Profile 2
    All legendary too.

    Playstation 3 :
    Siren : The Blood Curse
Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns Of The Patriots
    Heavy Rain
So far I' d rather keep my PS2 than my PS3. I can' t wait for FFVsXIII and ICO/Shadow Of The Colossus HD.

    PSP :
Kingdom Hearts : Birth By Sleep
Final Fantasy Tactics : The War Of The Lions
    Valkyrie Profile
FFT and VP are pure jewels. Nothing to add.

    XBox :
I never owned one but I know that Silent Hill 2 is even better than the PS2 release thanks to the new Maria scenario.

    Xbox 360 :
    Lost Odyssey
    Star Ocean 4
    Eternal Sonata/Trusty Bell
Lost Odyssey is way better than FFXIII. Star Ocean is my least favorite Star Ocean but I don' t own a lot of 360 games.

    NES:
Super Mario Bros. - It's the ultimate nostalgia blast. Dated, definitely, but still playable. Some people may prefer SMB3, but for me, SMB will always be somewhat special. As for a description: You're a plumber trying to sidescroll his way to a princess, who is in another castle. He does pot, endorses anti-Semitism in various rom-hacks, glitches the back of his head through bricks and jumps on things. It's fun. Then again, I may be judging it on the theme music. That stuff's really catchy. Almost makes the game.

Crystalis - Typical RPG for the SNES, only it's on the NES. The only RPG released by SNK, and it's still a winner. Has save data, hidden items, sidequests, emotive music, convincing dialogue and a bit of grinding. You can use a sword, but it can shoot sword beams if it's fully charged. You can also use magic, which is good. Oh, and the Japanese name for it was God Slayer. How badass is that? You know a game's good when the title's God Slayer. The dungeons are varied in appearance, and get more convoluted as you progress further in the game. Some of them all but require a guide to find your way through without losing your sanity though. Overall, it's a fun game.

Super Mario Bros. 3 - It's SMB3, what more needs to be said? Even so, I'll elaborate. It's SMB, but with better graphics, more levels, more suits, more options and more everything. Oh, and the princess is still in another castle, so there are a lot of worlds to get through.
