Can some one please explain to me wat is so bad about necrobumping?
your just reviving the thread because you find it interresting
and yet if you start a new thread that has already been made people punish you for it but if you post in it you'll get in trouble too because its necrobumping if the thread is old
seriously whats so bad about it?

If you're contributing I don't really see anything wrong with it; I'd rather you necro-bump things than create topics that have already been made. It just annoys some people, that's all.

It just annoys some people if they haven't seen the topic in about four+ months, and all of a sudden it's on the front page of a section.

Sometimes it irks me seeing a "dead" topic suddenly necrobumped, but I'm guilty of doing the same thing if I suddenly get an idea that no one posted in that thread and it otherwise makes no sense to start a new one for the sake of sharing that idea.

I don't know; I guess some people just don't like it. I don't have a problem with it...but don't try it! I did it before I knew what it was (noob), and got derepped, and warned and shot down. It was not a good scene.

Most necrobumps are pointless to the topic at hand. If you're just agreeing or saying something stupid, don't spam it. But if you have something to contribute and the topic's been created, post it. Just read the whole trhead and make sure you're contributing something new. I always start with, "I hate to necrobump, but what about...." or "Instead of making a new thread, I decided to say this here...."

Once you necrobump, people get irritated and the fact that its a necrobump overrides the fact that you're contributing to the topic, so always say why you're necrobumping.

And it's not worthy to be suggested. Newbs will then spam dead threads.

Necrobumping in areas where posts don't count, like the spam zone, is unneeded and it's better to just make a new thread.

In some areas like Discussion, it can be fine to necrobump so long as you can contribute to the topic at hand and it is a worthy post. The same applies in the KH threads.

Basically, each section has its own rules as to how it allows things such as necrobumping, but the general formula is what I said above. In areas like the Spam Zone, it just is not worth it to see some old topics revived because the topics people care about change with time. Hope that clarifies.
