Lol. Human alarm clocks are fail. Do what I do. I have a phone, a DS and a PSP all set to go off within a couple of minutes of each other. I hear one of them, so I have to get up as fast as possible to deactivate all of 'em.
Do you have a cell phone? If so, try using it's alarm to get accustomed to it and try that. Sorry to hear your roommate is a ******ass.
I have an alarm and it works fine. Problem is, I was so groggy that I got up and turned it off without even being fully conscious of it. This is why I was trusting him to get me up, but the idiot didn't make the connection that "Me + sleep + more than an hour = bad."
I hear ya. I still live at home until I have money enough to get my own place. I always shut my alarm off and then trust my parents to wake me up in time. They seem to keep waking me up at 7 am, which is fine. But on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have class at 8 am and I drive half an hour to college. No time for breakfast and I have to hurry in the shower.
Which is why I have three scattered across my room. Turning off one is easy. Turning off three within a few minutes and still wanting to sleep is difficult.
Yeah, might have to try that. Although I get the feeling this was a fluke. I've actually conditioned myself to wake up before my alarm and switch it off, it just... didn't work at all this time. Or it did and I was so fucking tired I just went back to sleep.
This^ I have one alarm right next to my bed. Another one across the room that goes off a minute later and then my T.V. turns on a minute after that. I always wake up before that because my suitemate wakes up half an hour before me and I hear him open the bathroom door.
Not really, there's only the same infomercials everyday at that time so it's easy to tune out, but wakes you up nonetheless...if the other two fail.
