Well unless they started going in reverse it is pretty much on you if you do rear end someone. You didn't, but if I was a parent I would get on them about the close calls too.
It wasn't intentional. There was a blockage because of a truck waiting to turn left, but I went through the intersection after making my complete stop, anyway, and, fortunately, didn't block the intersection. The truck turned left, and I thought I saw the car ahead of me start to speed up, so I sped to get up to speed (25), and, at the same time, the car slowed down to make a right turn that I didn't notice until my mom yelled, and it almost came to a dead stop because it had to wait for pedestrians, and I was literally inches close. Something like this, but not this close: ||
I think she just cared for your safety. Even if you weren't going that fast, a mother's instinct is to care for her child no matter what. Also, I am most sure that she would not have wanted you to be in an accident, even the smallest of them. Especially if it would have been your fault. Thinking of my mother, she would say that she would rather be the one to take the blame, but behind the wheel, it's the driver's fault and they have to pay for any damage and all that "fun" stuff. So many things at that moment were probably running through her mind. Plus it happened fast, so she most likely just shouted out what she said without even really truly thinking about it. I'm sure she wasn't trying to be mean and bite your head off. I believe that it was more about her care for you ^-^ hope that makes you feel a little better :)
Or... She's evil and the rear-ending was an elaborate plan to kill you. The yelling was all she could manage as the master plan failed. I'm certain it is one of the two.
I was trying to change lanes in chockablock traffic on the motorway, after driving for 5 hours and swerving to avoid someone who was going to hit me, I swerved right into the back of the car in front of me. His car just had a loose bumper, the front of mine had a broken grill, bent bumper and hood, and the air bags went off. Not fun, believe me, always hated driving, now it's just worse.
