Those words are everywhere in our lives: at school when our peers say they know what it's like, on the lips of frustrated parents doling out a lecture. They loom over some of us and excite others. For some people they're a status symbol, for others a condemnation.

So what do they mean to you? Are they good, bad, or neither? How do you know if somebody's mature, or if they're "acting like an adult?" What is "growing up," and is it something you look(ed) forward to?

I think every kid wanted to 'grow up' as soon as they could. Thinking you can stay up all night and play video games, spending your money on whatever you see fit, learning to drive and going anywhere you desire etc. Just thinking about the amount of freedom we would have at a later age excited us.

To me growing up is just a long phase in someone's life where they gradually start to learn and understand how society works.
