    ...

    ...Right.

This is why I only ever say "hello" in foreign languages.

Erm...oookkk then. I noticed that a long time ago, but it's only a word! It's not like when people say "Hello" they really mean the other word. That's just ridiculous.

    XD....well

actually, words have only as much importance as we give them.

so if hello is a greeting, when most people know it as a greeting, why change it?

i believe this is downright pointless.

i mean, so what....now are we going to change the name of sandwitch because it sounds like its a witch of sand too?...give me a break!

btw....heaveno....that sounds so long for a little greeting.

I just wana laugh at this guy's stupidity and pointlessness. Honestly, what's the point of changing a fricken word if everyone knows the meaning is something good...

And Heaveno just doesn't sound rite...

lol, that's hilarious. I wonder if anyone has walked up to the guy and said something akin to this:
    In Italian, hell is Inferno.
    In German it's Hölle
    In French it's Enfer
    In Spanish it's Infierno
In Latin - Inferne means 'down below'.
In Judaism - the term Sheol is often used to describe their version of Hell which is more akin to a state of bleak gloominess. There is no 'Hell' as is found in Christianity and Islam.

In German, hello is hallo and it is also the same in Dutch and Norwegian. In Spanish, hello is 'hola'. I would surmise probably we took the word 'hullo' from German/Norse/Dutch and it is still used though more in the UK. Hell probably derives more from the word Hel which is a place in Norse Mythology as well as the Goddess who ruled the domain. Someone should just tell the guy to use Hullo or Hallo if he has a serious problem or better yet 'hey' or 'hi'. I lol'd and am not sure why I wrote out the rest of this other than to avoid the spam of my original post and to share some history on the words.

Now... This guy is REALLY not getting enough attention if he has enough time to think about 'Hello'

And maybe i'm being a little stereotypical but Texas does think up some strange relegious stuff, is the water alright there?

This guy is freaking out over nothing.

'Disguised by the O.' That's just idiotic. If he doesn't like saying 'hello' then he should say 'Hi' or pick up Gansta Lingo and say, 'Yo, wuzzups me homie dogs?'

    Simple as that.

this is stupid, almost as stupid as taking the "one nation, under god" out of the pledge of ****ing allegiance. seriously, these morons need to die.

Actually I can see why someone would want to remove that from the official pledge.

The pledge of Allegiance is a different issue here. However, if this article is serious, than I have nothing else to say than el-oh-el.

Reminds me of how after 9/11 there was a campaign to change french fries to freedom fries because france didn't join the OMG AMERICA WINS BOMB AFGHANISTAN GOGOGOGOGGO bandwagon.

The issue with the pledge is different than that of a word. The word is part of the language, it's different than something that was created as a promise the entire country is supposed to be comfortable saying when there are many people who do not share the belief that there is a single god.

We're getting off topic now though. C:

Football is offensive to me. We should make it be soccer like the rest of the world because the word foot offends me.

This must have been a slow as crap news week for them to do this story. This is when i'd be the report and go up to him and say hello.

    Wow, didn't see that coming.
Hell and hello are two completely different words.

If he's so offended by it, he can just say hi instead of hello.
