Library...you must pay

So I rented a PS2 game, Matrix: The Path of Neo, and it turns out that it's so horrendously scratched that I can't even play it past like the 4th training exercise. So I'm getting about 30min, maybe less, of gameplay and then it starts to freeze up. It's so unfair, I like the game, and I want to play it. But I end up with a disk that can't even play. I swear, libraries should pay people when they get CDs back that are so scratched up and they don't even bother to fix.
I will find a way to play this game, I swear.

like I would know who did it. How many people do you actually know that take care of a CD when they rent if from the library? Because I know there are few. People usually leave the disk just out somewhere or whatever.

 

not you. the library should charge them. the last person who rented it is on record. when they return it, the library should check the disks. if its damaged, charge them.

barely. There's hardly any in. For the most part you're better off putting it on hold and waiting for months, if you're lucky a few days, than actually going to the library and looking for a game. I just wanted to try something and I got that one

 

Well that sucks because after playing that game, I must say, it is indeed awesome. You should try to get a non-scratched disk. As for the library, you could get them as it should be their responsibility to deal with goods that comeback damaged: charging the one responsible for it, and then not bother to lend it out if it doesn't work.

 

thing is, they don't care who's responsible. They couldn't care less, unless the CD actually got broken into pieces. I'm calling in with a complain and hoping that they'll send me it again, fixed

 

That seems like the best move. But I wouldn't hold my breath. If they don't care, how can expect them to take you seriously unless you do more like plan to sue. Idk just thinking out loud I guess.

 

You could just go to Gamestop and buy it... PS2 games are like $3 these days.

 

actually, I stopped by my gamestop on Thursday and bought Megaman starforce Leo, while I was hoping to buy a PS2 game, but it turns out that the gamestop didn't have any PS2 games out. They have Gamecube, but no PS2

not. i actually think Gamestop not having PS2 games is tragic.

 

Just wondering, but what kind of console games does your library hold? I've just never heard of a library holding anything other than books, VHSs, DVDs, and a couple electronics.
