Can't say wether these are accurate or not, as I have not played Diablo 3 yet, and probably will not play it because of other reasons. However, from past experience, I hardly thing the userscore from Metacritic is anything to go by. Some of the dumbest gamers you can find hang around that website.

Good point. I can't really think of any games that lived up to everyone's hype, but a lot of games have lived up to my hype.

Batman Arkam City from recent memory, I just now picked it up to start soon, but I've only heard good things about it from everyone. Just as an example anyways.

I think Skyrim might have been the closest I've felt recently for a game to live up to the hype, or actually Deus Ex Human Revolution since everyone was wondering if it would keep the original games spirit, and apparently it did.

Actually agree here, it far surpasses the original which was fantastic anyway, so I not many people thought it would surpass it but hoped. And indeed it did.

 

Skyrim, MGS4, TF2, and Peace Walker. 'Course saying MGS titles might be a little biased considering I'm a big MGS fan.

I know you're not being serious, but Kingdom Hearts 2 might have been one of the games that disappointed me the most :v I mean yeah I definitely really liked the game, but I was expecting much more from it especially after KH1 and CoM.

 

All Mario sequels, with the exception of SMB2, Final Fantasy VII, Portal and the sequel, Demon's Souls and the sequel, Assassin's Creed 2, Uncharted 2, inFamous 2, Call of Duty 4, Red Dead Redemption, the list goes on and on.

 

actually, I'm being fairly serious with Kingdom hearts. I mean, I never even knew about CoM until much after KHII came out, so all I knew was the first game, and I was looking forward to playing a game with better mechanics than the first(at least in my opinion). So far I've yet to really be disappointed with a Kingdom Hearts. Maybe I just give it too much credit, but I haven't played a wide range of games like most people. Considering I only buy new games once every year, and things like Pokemon and a new Final Fantasy usually show up, I always buy those, and then I just run out of money. this year it's probably just going to be replacing my DS and getting Sony Vegas, so I can't even play a game to know if it disappoints me or not

Just so you know guys, games with 1 year of hype isn't much hype.
Also apparently the hate for the game can be summed up into this....
Game has been extremely dumbed down
2 hours long
No PvP(This **** absolutely pisses me off)
The game feels more like World of Warcraft then Diablo
Have to connect online to play singleplayer
Real life cash auction house

 

Dark Souls, Disgaea 4-*brick'd*

 

So far this has been my friend's only complaint, and he used to play Diablo and Diablo II damn-near religiously. He even made actual cash from Diablo II. He's waited 12 years, and so far he's really pleased. (I can't say for myself because I've never played a Diablo game)
