Reliving some old Kingdom Hearts cutscenes I've seen Kairi's heartless body with Riku on both Captain hook's Ship and Hollow Bastion.

Now according to the specs of the KH Universe, that should have either returned to darkness or turned into a Nobody (accordingly Namine), but there it is, lifeless being carried along by Riku who is looking for her heart to put back into her body.
So, WTF? Why in KH1 is Kairi's body still there when it shouldn't?
    Please inform.

It should, because she didn't produce any heartless, and without one of those, can't have a nobody, so the body just stays as it is.

    This.

Also, her body couldn't return to darkness because it didn't come from darkness -- she's a Princess of Heart.

That's one of the more complicated things.
You know how Namine is "special" and Kairi is a Princess of Heart?
When a person loses their heart to darkness, the heart leaves the body and goes into the Realm of Darkness and becomes a Heartless. The body fades into darkness as well, but the soul leaves the body so it's technically "dead" and the body just dissipitates or something. If it's a strong willed person, the soul stays in the body and the body instead goes into the Realm of In Between and a Nobody is born out of the body in that realm.
Kairi had no darkness in her heart whatsoever, so her body couldn't leave the Realm of Light and form a Nobody so she became comatose.
When her heart left Sora's body, it used HIS body to make a Nobody. So Sora somehow spawned two Nobodies with one body (which leads into a Ven theory of mine, but different subject)

Huh, I forgot all that stuff. But yeah it makes sense, I guess.
I've just got an overload of KH info recently that I feel crazy and dumb compared ot thoer people. xD

So assuming Heartless attack another Princess of Heart they become lifeless?
Wait, isn't that how they were in those Hollow Bastion casket things before Sora turned into a Heartless and released the hearts from the dark Keyblade?

Well, yeah, i guess, as long as someone captures the heart.
Otherwise i think they wouldn't be even affected by the heartless.
Not really, they were just like the body of Kairi you mentioned a while ago, but with the hearts trapped inside the Keyblade instead of Sora.

For one thing, Kairi was a Princess of Heart, so she was special, and couldn't really lose her heart. Second, her heart didn't get eaten by the darkness, it went and connected with Sora's heart. That was one reason why Namine was special, the other reason was that Kairi herself was special.

Her body was just an empty shell, supposedly, but when she was on the ship, her hand moved in response to Sora. Something was apparently inhabiting her, perhaps her soul. Riku also had to travel somewhere, using the darkness, to get her body back.

Well since PoHs don't have darkness in their heart, the hearts couldn't travel to the Realm of Darkness and make Heartless. Instead, their hearts were used to make the fake Keyblade. They lost their hearts, but couldn't make Heartless or Nobodies because neither their bodies nor hearts traveled outside the Realm of Light.

Actually, I wouldn't count on it. She's a PoH - namely, only her Heart is made of light. And even then, in light of some new BBS info,
one might reach the conclusion PoHness is an acquired state. Namely, she came from Darkness alright, but lost the Darkness inside her Heart along the way

The Body and Soul remain together. They were quite clear that the Soul leaving the Body isn't "technically" death - it really is death. And if all it takes is for you to beat the Heartless and Nobody to get the original Somebody back, going by Another Report, you'd have to go fetch the soul as well going by your statement. However, that is not the case.

Only for people that didn't cast a Nobody, the Org's KH aside, beating the Heartless with the Keyblade would be suffice to bring back the original Somebody. :\ so it stays together whether or not a Nobody is born.
Otherwise, it's death. Nothing technical or fancy about it. Part of why they didn't deal with souls in the KH verse up until now.

I never saw why she had to take anything from Sora. Diz was happy theorizing about how she was made up of nothing before. Changing her coming out of Sora instead of Kairi doesn't really change that, imo. Roxas took the B+S much like Kairi kept her own, leaving Namine with nothing. The main difference now is that Sora was becoming a Heartless and a Nobody so it makes a lot more sense for a by-product to have been born then and not say, on the night of the storm from Kairi, and it also ties in better with Namine's powers over Sora's Memories while lacking any other relation to Kairi save looks, basically.
Of course, I still say she could end up being an Unverse, depends on what those will end up being. But time will tell.

Yes, since they lost their Hearts, but the Hearts didn't become Heartless. Hence the vessels were left behind as lifeless puppets, much like Kairi.

I have to wonder about that, actually. For all her PoHness, her Heart did still leave her Body in the face of the great Darkness that engulfed DI.
Here's to hoping they explain that because until they do, I hold she has a ridiculously weak Heart, and only has PoHness going for her.

Her soul, again - never left her Body. Otherwise she'd have been dead.
As for the Neverland scene, Sora had her Heart inside his Body. Coming into such close proximity with her Body ,which at the time, while empty, was still conscious, would no doubt merit a reaction from her.
