Yeah, I know. I get bullied for it at school as all the cool kids are doing it in time and it tears me apart.

Well, that depends on how much it will cost us. I'm surprised that we still have the site. Who's paying the bills for this site anyway?

Never was a fan of Gaga, so yeah, I'd disagree with you.

No, I haven't. But I can probably guess what it's about. I just don't like mainstream music because it puts on a petistal something that shouldn't. But it would be the same thing reversed. I listen to Hawk Nelson and TobyMac, two great examples of Christian music, but they will never be given a chance because of what they represent.

Well then that's not fair, in my opinion. I mean, it's fine to say you don't like (or even hate) Lady Gaga's music, but not liking a specific song simply because it's her song without having listened to it?
I mean, I don't like the genre of country or what Christian music is about, but I love certain country and Christian songs.

Fine. I did listen to it. Honestly, I did kind of like it. I just can't like her because of what she represents. It's the same thing with a lot of mainstream artists that are out there. It would be nice if those artist did make more songs that were inspirational than songs that they ususally make. It may change my view, but until then, I don't know.

You don't have to like her to like her songs. I haven't listened to Born This Way yet, to be honest. But if a song represents something different than other songs from the same artist do and what those songs represent is the reason you don't like that artist, can you not still like the song that's different since it lacks what you don't like?

I did say I liked the song didn't I? Granted, I guess there are songs that I do like. I haven't read the full song of Firework by Katty Perry, but I can tell that it has good intentions.

I've seen people do it all the time. There are some real inspirational songs, but when people talk about it (mostly on Youtube comments), they seem to like putting it down without listening to the lyrics. And, as you can see, I didn't feel like being a hypocrite today and I gave it a fair chance (not like anyone else is going to do that with other artists).

While that may sound nice, people cannot be limited to one representation, particularly with a wide range of artwork. Try to think of each song as facet of the artist's personality, and you will be a lot better off in terms of accuracy in your judgment.
