Ok, so this Christmas i'm mainly getting cash, but i'm stuck on what to spend it on.

    I'm torn between a new laptop and a PS3/HDTV.

I'm in need of a new computer, so i have my eyes set on a certain laptop i think will do me nicely.

Then again, i haven't had a TV for several months now and i'm missing out on playing my Wii (Mario Galaxy), and watching my favourite DVD's. So i was thinking i might as well get a PS3 with it.

What would you guys get first?

I say go for the TV. I'm sure the laptop can wait a little more. And if I recall correctly you've been without TV for months, how you're supposed to play console games without the TV?

    I'd get the laptop first.

    But that's just me.

I dunno whether or not to get a gaming laptop. It would cost a fortune but i need to play games. That's why i'm torn between them.

    Well...I have a few questions:

1: Is anything wrong with the computer/laptop/whatever you have now?
2: Do you want any of the games for a PS3 at all?
3: Do you like watching tv, and will you watch it if you get a new one?
4: Do you mean that you'll buy the tv and PS3 together? Because I'm not sure, sorry.

    1. My current machine is at least 5 years old. It's old fashioned.
    2. I want a few. Assassin's Creed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, FFXIII and verses and a few others that i can't think of right now. Ok, so most of them aren't out yet but i like to be prepared.
    3. Aye i'll watch tv/DVD's. I use to watch them as i was in my bed late at night or if i was tired. My parents are usually downstairs watching something they like so i'm left with nothin'.
    4. I would buy them both together. I would only buy a PS3 if i had a HDTV of my own. My parents don't like having consoles plugged into the TV downstairs so i need my own.

    Hmmm....that's a bit of a hard choice...

    One more question. How well does the computer you have now work? Does it run fine, or is it a piece of crap like this thing I have to work on untill next year....literally. >.>;

It's worse than crap. It's like a wonkey donkey, it's all over the place. It's slow, has hardly any hard drive space and i'm pretty sure it's full of viruses. XD

Plus i can't play many games on it, nor can i use my webcam/mic n' such. It won't connect properly to the internet and many other faults.

The only problem with getting a new computer is Vista. We all know it sucks.

GAHH! De ja vu...I remember haveing this conversation with you....I think you'll opt for the computer. I'd probably do so, myself. I can't do anything with this piece of trash, so I get how aggrivating computers can be. BELIEVE ME. So...I say go for the computer. If you want the tv and PS3 more though, pick that. But it's your choice, of couse. I'm just ganna suggest the computer. ^^

You've given me the best opinion yet! At least you give reasons as to why i should get a laptop.

I'm gonna be looking at them tomorrow with my dad (Hopefully i can persuade him to loan me some cash so i can buy one tomorrow with the ol' puppy dog eyes).

Now that you mentioned the problem with your computer....

I change my suggestion to laptop. I swear to god computers and mobile phones have an awful lifespan.

Well, there's many pros on this.

Buying a PS3 can lack you from the DVDs, but it has good gaming. But then again, you can get those games later right? It's not like the PS is getting off the shelves anytime soon. The HDTV would be a pro, but laptops have a pro on it too =\

A laptop can give you all those DVDs you wanna' see, and probably many moar. A computer with Vista already set up is way better =\ And for gaming...I would get an HP. The one my cuz' has preferably. Gaming computer, and perfect for media. Not too much either. I'll try to find it...

lol, HP laptops are the one's i'm looking at right now. They're nice to look at and the price isn't too bad for what's inside. I have a few in mind but i'm still thinking which one i would prefer. A small portable one, or a beast?

What model does your cuz' have?

So i went out today and looked at several laptops, and only HP laptops stoodout to me. So i guess i'm more up for a laptop. Although, i did glance upon this sweet 32" inch HDTV. mmmmmmmmmmm

But a PS3 is basically a computer no? XD

Anyway yeah, get the laptop. Personally that's what I'd do, but that's mainly because I need it more for important stuff, rather than a PS3 which is simply to use as a divertissment.
