I had a near death experience last night.

So there I was, sitting in my living room, watching that one hilarious Lifetime movie about Andrew Luster and how he gave LIQUID X (in all caps) to like 30 women and raped them and filmed him raping them etc etc and at the end they reveal that he lives like down the street from me. It's like eight o'clock. Well anyway, my mom wasn't home and it was just me and my two sisters, neither of which are very brave. Then my doorbell rings. My doorbell isn't even the pleasant chime that every one else has: it is this horrible loud, gritty, nearly-piss-yourself-in-the-pants-every-time-it-goes-off doorbell.

So of course we look through the peephole, which I hate doing because it hurts my toes. And I see this black figure out on my porch. So I'm freaking out more and more and I somehow manage to lock the front and back doors without it making a noise. We then turn off the TV and all of the lights and close all of the curtains, run upstairs, and hide for a really long time. After we hid and freaked out, we eventually called our mom and told her that we *might* be raped and murdered. I went and checked through the peephole and he was gone, so we turned on some lights and I could see some footprints leading into the backyard.

I'm still a little scared he's hiding in the shrubbery in the backyard, waiting for me to be home alone.

I just thought you all should know in case I abruptly stop logging in one day.

story about my life #2:
Nine-year-old me is upstate with my family. I believe it was me, my two sisters, my mom, my uncle, and my cousin. Keep in mind that the house upstate is VERY isolated and scary to be in. So my cousin says "hey, do you want to watch Amityville Horror?" My sisters said yes, and I didn't want to be the only chicken so I agreed, reassured by my cousin that it had a "happy ending". I could only watch in horror.
I did not sleep AT ALL that night. I was scared to go in the bathroom alone, let alone close my eyes and wait for someone to murder me. We all "woke up" around 4 o'clock that morning for the drive home, and as we're driving on the island my uncle says "HEY do you want to go by the Amityville Horror house?"

oh my god, I could not go into my basement for YEARS. (it didn't help that my mom soon decided to give me laundry duty). I closed my closet every night before sleeping, and I was afraid to flush the toilet at night. I still occasionally get skeeved out of the basement. I had also convinced myself that I lived like five minutes away from the house. (yes, I knew my geography very well)
