I can barely afford to pay my tuition... and I don't even pay for all of it. It's not like I got that kind of money to toss around. And frankly even if I had 7k, I think I would buy a new car first. If I had 14k, I would buy both.

Some sites do operate like that, completely on donations. However I don't think we would get enough donations to keep it running that way... (sites like that also shut down the months they don't get the donations they need).

$7k is just to buy the site away from spdude. That doesn't count the monthly hosting bills. :/

Well, I can deal with some lag, at least for the school year.

 

O, I C Wat u did thar.

 

Ads generate about $250 more then the monthly cost, according to spdude. So you do make some money per month. But if you buy it for 7k, it would take over two years to make that money back.

Not to mention moving us to a better server also puts a dent in your paycheck.

 

I always thought it was the server's fault.

Now I figure out the truth.
