I go out almost every day to fantastic places, the food here is incredible, and I'm in the same house as a cute Italian girl, 2 years older than me, I've got pictures I'll post em later, oh god, these are the best days of my life so far!

Wish you all were with me,

I'll be back in a week or two (or three)

Welcome, we accept anyone with a pulse. Or not otherwise that would be offensive to the dead.

Remember not to tip your waitress, and if you get in an arguement with us we will simply be gentlemenly avout it. Meaning we'll say stuff behind your back

    Again, Welcome!

I never had any qualms with English food, and if this stereotype has a grain of truth supporting it, I suppose... must be because I have lived in America for too long, grown accustomed to heavy foods. The food was fine. Never understood this stereotype, but what to say? I am an American, and drink sodas at every meal, scarf down burgers or so the stereotype goes-- or in my case, veggie burgers. I would not know.

    Enjoy your trip.

If he happens to live in America, it would be perfectly understandable. After all, foods cannot possibly be lower in quality than in America? I think? So he switched from 'horrible' to 'bad'.

Well, I would call none of the English food I ate a culinary orgasm but, it was not too bad. Fine.

Black Pudding. Spotted Dick. Bread and Butter Pudding. Toad in the hole.

Seriously, try them, they are not bad at all.

It is sausage? What? I had been expecting it to be, taking it quite literally, pudding. Why black pudding, then. Why the misleading name. Toad in the hole, for the love of god I could not think up what that is. What is it.

Also. I am inspired. We should have a foreign foods thread, recommending our culinary suggestions. We should!

It's sausage in a yorkshire pudding (also not actually a pudding in case you are unaware) usually served with gravy.

That's curious. Where does it originate from?

*blushes* damn, I really am unaware!

As far as I know it's a modern day 'old saying.' It probably predates the internet as we know it and comes from a postwar environment so the late 70s through early 90s would be my best guess at time of inception.

Toad in the hole is gorgeous, or just Yorkshire puddings with gravy. Made from a batter similar to pancakes but more savoury... it's sooo good.

With names like that though, I can see why people would avoid them.

You haven't had 'gorgeous' Yorkshire puddings unless you've had my Grandma's Yorkshire puddings. P:
