I have to say, this movie was very well made, even with the numerous plotlines and storylines. I especially liked how at first each of the stories have absolutely nothing to do with each other, but as they continue on it all starts to make sense and connect in terms of what one person said or what theme was underlying throughout.

There has been some controversy about the casting because a lot of the actors portray different sets of races, genders, and the like. However, I felt that if they had a different actor for each character, it would have been even more cluttered and confusing to follow along with the parallels. I guess there may have been problems with the numerous dialects, but hey, it didn't really bother me as much as I thought.

One thing that I would criticize would be the length of the movie. Three hours is waaaaay too long especially for a movie this plot and symbol-heavy. I guess one could argue that a shorter time wouldn't fill in all of the important points of the story, but I'm pretty sure there were other ways to make things shorter.

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie, although I wouldn't call it my absolute favorite. It's one of those movies that becomes ineffable, especially right after seeing it. And I can't be sure whether or not it is what the general audience deserves for its big-name cast, intertwining stories, and the like. But, if you have the time and patience, be sure to check it out.
