So, I say there is not enough information for me to answer this question. :]

 

Then would it really matter? You would perish in both instances. The entire point of choosing would be null and void unless it would be a choice between different circumstances of death.

 

Well, if you're gonna perish, choose the circumstance of death where you atleast have something good to eat as your last meal.

 

The poison would either make the cake taste bland or disgusting. And nourishment in the long term wouldn't matter if you were to die anyhow. Therefore the choices lead to the same path and the poll itself is quite pointless indeed.
