So apparently Animeanime is broadcasting the Black★Rock Shooter television series. It will be simulcasted on Niconico subtitled in eight languages. The streaming will begin Feb. 3rd following the Japan TV airing.

The latest episodes will be available at 11:00 pm every Friday in the following countries:
    English: United States, Canada
French: France, Belgium, Monaco, Switzerland, Andorra
    Italian: Italy
    German: Germany
    Spanish: Spain, Mexico, Chile, Argentina
    Korean: South Korea
    Traditional Chinese: Taiwan
    Simplified Chinese: Mainland China, Singapore
The subtitled streams will not be accessible from within Japan.

This is right around the corner, very exciting for all you BRS fans!

Yeah, where should we be looking for it? What site, etc. Definitely don't want to be missing out on BRS, especially since I suspect they're going to be using WRS at some point.

All the article says is: "The distribution channel operated by using the video smiling smiling. Delivery starts at 23 February 03 (Japan time) from, and will be accessible in many countries around the world, watching for free."

I dunno if video smiling smiling is some station, but I'm more than certain there will be some sort of outlet on an anime site you could watch it from. That's my take on it at least.

I doubt it. The series is more based of the OVA. WRS is only in the game.

Anyways I'm sure the fansubbers that are working on it will release their own before Nico does, should be out any time now.

Ah, but there's already been a good few differences in character designs and such. It wouldn't surprise me if they included her, if only to give an extra bit of plot to it.
Still, WRS or no, the series looks great so far, and I can't wait to watch the subs. I just need to figure out what times I'd be able to watch it, what with being ahead of American time and all. Any definite timezone on that 11pm schedule?

Probably japan time. I would just keep refreshing nyaa (google that) or if you stream anime, then sites like anime44 etc will probably have it up after someone releases subs. Only the raw for ep 1 is out at the moment.

You do know sites like that are illegal right? Your stealing anime from the people who works on it if you keep watching fan-subs. That is why legal steams like Viz Anime, Crunchyroll and many others exist so you can support your favorite anime and the people who makes it without paying a thing.

Fansubbers are faster then Nico, and CR didn't pick up BRS. Also, you support your anime by buying the BDs and figmas, not by streaming it. It's all about sales.

To be fair, I'm not 'stealing' anime and as RvR said CR didn't pick up BRS, and that the way you support anime are buy buying the merchandise that goes with the series.
    It's all about sales man.

The fact that I live in Britain where we have pretty much no anime channels mean that unless I watch fansubs and streaming sites, I can't watch anime like this at all.

There isn't much of a difference between watching an anime online or via TV anyway (it's still effectively free), and besides... I do support the business heavily (again... sales lol).
I'm always buying manga, and many other anime goods including DVD boxsets online or at the regular anime expo/conventions and I try to help out the business whenever possible.

If anything, the fact that I watch fansubbed material online aids in the anime's sales, because if I like the series that I've watched online then I usually go out and buy the boxset when it's released or the manga etc. This isn't just the case of with me, but it's like that with many other people. Many have actually argued that fansubs and the like have heavily aided the anime/manga industry in this way. It's a way of introducing the products and the many amazing series out there to people much further than they'd ever reach otherwise.

Anyways, if you don't believe me, feel free to check my vlogs on youtube and take a browse at my room where you'll see my collection of manga, DVDs, figurines, wall hangings and other memorabilia and the like in the background. (and those aren't even good examples... my collection has gotten even bigger since way back when I last made a vlog)
I'm a die-hard Otaku and proud of it.
