KHV: Cascadia

Sunlight vomited over her body. The warm rays tickled her skin, sliding up and down the length of her body. Greenery spread across the horizon, flowers reaching up to soothe the sun. Besides her, vines of grapes rose and fell into the earth, the purple and green specks of fruit resembling a wave.

She could feel her insides tingle a bit as she rose to a sitting position, staring straight ahead. In the distance, she could see two large wooden doors pierce the heavens above. The girl put a hand to her air, straightening out the ruffles from her fall. She had a mission to accomplish; she knew it had arrived a little while before her, and that she needed to stop it before it spread.

Catch the Rainâ€™s dying wish was entrusted to her. The place she knew as home, now forever shunning her name, needed her. The girl rose to her feet, brushing off her jeans. A DBE threatened the balance; as an Admin, she would not let such that happen.

She gulped, her feet inching her closer to the doors, to the city.

It was time for Misty to return home.

KHV: Continuum

KHV: Continuum is the â€“ sparsely updated â€“ KHV fanfic which I am in the process of writing. The story follows the Staff team as of mid-late 2011 (sorry to the new guys), as they fight to keep order in the city of KHV, both as a de-facto police force fighting bots who occasionally find their way into the city network, and as a governing body â€“ protecting citizens of the city from harm. They do this by utilising a form of technological magic known as netcraft which Iâ€™m in the process of exhaustively explaining as part of an almanac of sorts which accompanies the story, for elegance sake, rather than explaining mid story.

In the following excerpt, RvR visits Claw in the Hospital wing of the staff headquarters at the centre of the city. Claw was injured in after he and Plums were attacked by bots while in transit to staff HQ a few days earlier and is concerned that RvR has lost faith in him.

RvR sat back in his chair, and removed the headset he was wearing. Misty was with the two of them now, so he really didnâ€™t need to bother with guiding the mission any longer. Besides, he had someone he had to talk to.

He ambled his way through the hallways of staff HQ, passing rooms full of computers, books, and random cables amid other piles of detritus until reaching his destination, the infirmary.

He knocked at the doors; wooden â€“ Star said it helps the patients feel relaxed, so thereâ€™s no metal in the room like so much of the rest of the city, only natural materials: wood, glass, and cloth. When you basically have magic to heal wounds, thereâ€™s no need for horrible smelling hospitals, though it was clean.

â€œCome in ...â€ he heard Star say, and before he could push against the door, she was there holding it open.

â€œOh, hey there RvR ... I didnâ€™t know you were visiting today ... or did you give yourself another cut I need to treat?â€ she enquired, furtively glancing at him for any sign of damage.

â€œIâ€™m just here to visit ... is he awake?â€ RvR asked.

â€œYeah, heâ€™s reading at the moment, but Iâ€™m sure heâ€™ll be fine seeing you ... heâ€™s always been so good at remembering multiple threadsâ€, she smiled, â€œcome in then â€“ itâ€™s not like a portalâ€™s gonna open or anythingâ€.

She stepped aside and RvR entered the room. The walls were lined with soft green colouring, and panelled with rich mahogany, the floor also decked in the same. The beds were furnished with white sheets and the wide windows framed with white curtains which blew in the warm breeze from outside. All the beds were empty, aside from one right at the back of the room, where Claw was lying, awkwardly positioned reading a book.

Hearing the footsteps of RvR on the wooden floor as he approached, Claw looked up and smiled. Putting the book down on his lap, he waved at RvR.

â€œTo what do I owe the pleasure of seeing our noble and fearless leader here today?â€ he asked jovially, half laughing.

RvR sat down on a green cushioned chair beside his bed, noting Clawâ€™s paler than usual skin, shining in the golden afternoon sun.

â€œI just wanted to see how you were getting alongâ€, RvR said, fixing his eyes on Clawâ€™s.
â€œWell ... Star said Iâ€™m making improvements, but I still donâ€™t really understand what happened. Iâ€™ve wiped out from over-exertion before, but I never had to stay in the infirmary ... and I feel kinda weak every now and again ... I couldnâ€™t even make a clap of thunder or delay a second slightly when I first woke up, I just felt so ... lethargic ... but Iâ€™m feeling better.â€ He smiled, but RvR knew it was a front for worry.

â€œIf you want me off the team I und-â€œ

â€œDonâ€™t worry, Claw ... youâ€™re not going to be kicked out of the team because of this,â€ He soothed â€“ and seeing Claw draw breath to say something â€“ he cut across, â€œItâ€™s not your fault. Thereâ€™s going to be a staff briefing in a few days about what exactly happened that day, Misty and I have been doing research and we think we have an ideaâ€.

â€œBut I could have done bett-â€œ

â€œIt could have happened to anyone, donâ€™t beat yourself up about it Claw. At least you werenâ€™t alone. God knows if weâ€™d not hired you and Plums at the same time, you would be ... well letâ€™s not get into that. Are your powers back now?â€

â€œWould you like a demonstration?â€ Claw asked, his eyes shining.

KHV: Carnival

The rays of sunlight don't filter through the clouds of this day in Kingdom hearts Vids. Everyone was still out discussing, some preferred to stay inside. Chevalier liked days where the sun wasn't in full brim. The atmospheric curtain meant he could go out and just think, without worrying for the heat. It was somewhat chilly, but he felt it was best this way. He took his casual clothing and went out.

Everyone was threading around, the usual spot park had many people going around talking. Chevalier sat in one of the park benches, just watching everything go by. People gave glances, and then continued walking. Ever since Chev had been promoted to Super Moderator after the Mystification he'd gained some sort of unspoken bout of respect. Some just wanted to defy the stoic super mod just for the heck of it, but he was far too laid-back to give them that pleasure.
