Hello /khv/. After browsing through flash games in my. . . err, "spare time" at school, I came across an interesting series known as Armed With Wings. Naturally I played it until the gameplay got boring, but the story concept got me thinking. The game itself didn't emphasize so much on story as it did gameplay; the setting and conflict, however, grasped my attention even with the lack of depth. SO. . . I decided to try my hand at a novelization of this fantastic series.

Since the story lacked depth in the original concept, I decided to add a touch of my own themes. For one, the narrative will be a very (at least I hope) subtle parable on American Imperialism and the Social Darwinism present at that time. If you've played the game, you might be able to see where I'm going with this.

To be honest, I haven't had much progress in the narrative itself (it's still in the first chapter). But I have wrote a monologue for the antagonist, so I've posted this for you, /khv/, to decide if I should keep going.

    Hope you enjoy it =D

We are born - and leave this world - as blackmist.

It bathes the world to the very core and veils all to be seen in eternal night. It is the matter from which all things are made, and it is what all things inevitably return to.

And I, the superior of these lands, wield the blackmist above any other. With an iron fist I brought an empire under my rule, and with the fires of war it spread across the world.

Yet there are those who oppose my rule, peasants and village rats who preach of peace and justice. The rebel scum wander from pillar to post in an attempt to marshal an army and rise up against me, eluding capture at every turn.

But their efforts are in vain, for none can stand before my power. Only I, the enlightened one, can decide what is best for the people, for I bend the very essence of of the world to my will. I am the supreme overseer of the largest empire in existence. I am destined for godhood.

    I am Vandheer Lorde.
