As long man has sailing the waters of the world, there have been siteings of different and ferce looking monsters in the waters. Do you believe there real or not?
Actually, there might me animals that we haven't even discovered yet. These so called 'monsters' might just be a animal that didn't de-evolve or die after the Dinosaur age. We might never know. I believe they're real.
Anyone else getting Phoenix Wright flashbacks from this thread? xD Gourdy ftw ~. In all seriousness though, it's hard to say. 99% of the time I'd think not -- they're either making it up or saw something else they thought was a 'sea monster' -- but then, there could also be something in there that we haven't discovered yet, as mentioned by xXRhian+RoxasXx. I'd say it's entirely possible they exist.
Any evidence found these days can easily be forged. An expert could easily make it look like they've seen the Loch Ness Monster, when it's just a backdrop. I'd have to agree with Stardust that 99% of the time it's fake, but then the other 1% of the time there might actually be something. There's amounts of jungle we haven't explored, as well as ocean. People thought okapi and gorillas were myth until around the 1900's. I think there is a possibility that there are some animals out there we haven't seen, but as far as anything dating back from the Jurassic period, I would think there's nothing left.
People used to think Giant Squids were sea monsters and now we know what they are. It's all just about discovering them if they exist or not.
Nah. They're all fake. Probably exaggerated legends from the early days of mankind - for instance, someone exploring the shores of the Atlantic ocean in the stone age sees a whale. he has no clue what it is, therefore, it is a "sea monster", and he passes on the story to his descendants, who modify it and pass it on again for thousands of years, and thus the story spreads.
I accept that there are potential species that have not been discovered, especially so in the big wide sea, but they are not 'monsters', just undiscovered. However, highly doubt the 'survived a meteor impact that wiped out virtually all life except for a few small mammals, then went into hiding for 65 Million years, survived an Ice Age and now appears exactly the same as it did back then in a random lake in Scotland' theory has little, if any scientific merit.
i totally believe in sea monsters, one hundred percent. i mean it could be possibe.....anything could be possible.
Well, it depends on where it was supposedly spotted. If it was the ocean, then it would be more possible. We haven't completely been able to explore the entire ocean. Especially since some of the depths are a mile or more. (I'm not actually sure) And it's not like we can just bring the fish or whatever up because the lack of pressure would probably kill them.
Clearly Raptor Jesus has led some of his disciples to Earth. As NRA said, people once believed that giant squid were monsters, same with the thought that manatees were mermaids. I'm not sure how you can confuse the two, but stranger things have happened. Though I'd say that other species that are massive are plausible, but we know more about space than our own oceans because we just can't travel down far at all.
Anything is possible considering that most of marine life has yet to be discovered. Not completely monsters but just certain "new" [[New since they have yet to be found]] species of life.
It's possible. I'd say more in the ocean than in a lake. Weather it's an Unknown creature or an natural event that could easily be mistaken as a monster, Yes Loch Ness Monster, no Gotta say that's fake. Looks too clear to be randomly taken, and wheres the sound?
Well, I do believe that there are things in the waters that we have yet to discover. But, I'm not sure whether I can call them monsters or not. Though there are other times where people are decieved and THINK they've seen something and pass down myths like the Loch Ness for example.
Sorry, I don't really believe in "Mysterious monsters spotted" or whatever you want to call them, however, I do believe in Evolution and natural selection. I believe that an animal that lives in the region of the spottings or even further away, had ancestors that while they evolved into the animals we have today that can't live In that region due to let say water salinity, took two evolutionary paths that just had minor changes in their make up that let's them stay in areas of salinity but then they have to retrun to fresh water, that was just an example. But that is what I believe, and not some prehistoric water monster...sorry
Im laughing at what people are speculating in the comments xD Anyway, there may very well be "monsters" living in the deepest parts of the ocean- but we'd only refer to them as monsters because they've yet to be identified. There are millions of sea creatures we've yet to discover, and I'm sure deep down in the sea there are certainly animals that could be considered monsterous.
considering the size of the ocean and all the amazingly cool creatures that we know of already living in it, i cant deny the existence of anything else like sea/lake monsters :D
Well, while I do consider that there are no "Sea Monsters" in the sea, I just think that these "Monsters" are just animals we know but with defects. Like in the video shown above, the creatures tail could of been cut and made like that, so we will never really know. But there is a possible way for marine life from millions of years ago still be alive, a few years ago some fishermen had caught a fish they could not identify. When they brought it in, they found out it was the long forgotten "Relecanth" (sorry if the spelling is wrong) which was supposed to be dead MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO. They have even found more alive in the area which found this marine animal. So it can be possible for them to be alive, but just really really rare cases.
Yeah I totally believe in them, I mean why not. Would you rather believe that we have seen ever animal on earth? That would kind of suck, no offense to the animals we have now. But I mean they may not be "monsters" just things we haven't seen. lol at the commentary, and also its Triton's son. Look at his tail, its a Triton. I saw that on ON DEMAND, I think its all caps.
