Hypothetically speaking, if time travel were possible, when a person goes back in time, does he or she take his or her molecules with him or her? Or do the molecules of the past reassemble themselves to firm the aforementioned time traveller a new body?

Well the thought is that atoms can neither be destroyed or created so surely the same amount must stay in the world at any one stage... but I think you would take your particles with you as where else would you essemble the millions of atoms to make you in one place O.o

It's a hypothetical situation, so it's completely up to you, the person who made the hypothetical situation.

Yes, but I would like an answer to my hypothetical question.

You can take your body with you, but you can't take your clothes.

Well, it depends, are we talking about a hypothetical situation in which time travel is possible and when someone hypothetically travels to a different time, their molecules hypothetically travel with them, hypothetically, of course?

Or are we talking about a hypothetical situation in which time travel is possible and when someone hypothetically travels to a different time, the hypothetical molecules of that hypothetical time, in which this hypothetical situation which came to exist because of your hypothetical question, rearrange to give that hypothetical time-traveler a new, but hypothetical, body?

That's a lot of hypotheticals and they all failed to answer my question.

You will turn into green sludge.

Your hypothetical situation makes something that isn't possible possible.
In which case, you are allowed to let the molecules do whatever you want them to do to fit your situation.
So it is up to you.

Now the logical answer? It doesn't matter because you can't time travel.

That's the Steins Gate way of looking at things, which also doesn't answer my question. Does the green sludge come from the future, or does it form from the time period in which it formed?

Gonna go with the Layton theory and say you keep the same molecules but they become unstable.

It depends on the theory. No one can say for sure without testing it.

Geez, it's funny seeing all the hypothetical stuff. xD

The question is: If the scientists invent the Travel Time Machine, will our molecules go together with us?

Not worth say that the answer is no/yes because the scientists will never created a Travel Time Machine, that is the answer I think you would answer.

Basically, we won't know until we try? Hm.
