Straight up, aside from the generic second one that has the same sprite as a large percentage of sprite sigs, the rest are straight rubbish. Oversharpened and poorly colored.
I like the second, the first has some out of place c4d on the left and I feel there should be more depth to the bottom two, as it is sharpened smudge minus leg to add a foreground. What I do not like at all is your arrogance. If you want a highly skilled graphics forum, look elsewhere. The people on this graphics section aren't here to prove there the best, theyre here to have fun and develop. I came from a more skilled forum to here, because its less cut throat and a nice change of pace. So by saying, "Im better than 98% of people here", it doesn't mean thats true, it just means you're a jerk. Straight up.
I don't need to rip. You can see the differences. Mainly canvas size, blade effects, and most obviously, the hand on the left side. I followed the tut very closely, but there is much variety between mine and his. I have my own graphics business, the last thing I need to do is steal someone elses work for a sotw.
False. http://uploadpsd.com/file/45162.psd Try again. I bought it on there months ago.
Yeah... didn't get to them this weekend... I have a paper due at 1:00 that i still havent finished. Done with school for break tomorrow afternoon for a week.
Not feeling those pink circles or the faded head on his right.
Everything is too plain. Granted you are only using vector shapes, but its basically a white background with one brush layer, one render layer, and a scanline layer. I'm all for simplicity, but there is not enough here.
Get a picture of granite as a layer over the layer you want granite-ed, highlight it, right click it and hit "Clipping mask".
The text effects are brushes, with a granite clipping mask.
Well I have a proprietorship, and these two "creative side" marketing guys are coming in, so I thought I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone by winning this competition and advertising my business.
For a graphics competition in school... I better win. The name on the poster is for my website... that is down, so its not advertising, lol. Tell me what you think:
Sorry for the hold up, exams blech, will get to this weekend
Theres a bit of blue text, doesn't add value to the sig so I hope it can pass.
Now this is a sig. I love how people give Mickey Mouse criticism in other threads but when a good sig is made, its always "I dont get it" Well, from someone who does "get it", I love the right side background and the lighting behind the head. I would recommend sharpening the sig a bit then burning the edges, since there is blurriness at the focal. Great work on this one.
Work on making the render blend into the bg. With an anime render, it contrasts alot with the busy background. Add some foreground elements if you can.
Erase the c4d around the middle of the render.
One step toward socialism with Obama. Hes a capitalist's enemy.
I dont know gimp myself, but i know there are alot of gimp resources out there you should check out. I still use photoshop resources 5 years later.
Heres some edits I made: 1) Desaturated render, added multiple color layers, and did filter render clouds to erase random parts 2) Notice the lighting on the render, added a light source and spruced it up with filter render lightingsources 3) Blurred choppy edges of render 4)Burned sides away from light source This all blends the render in a bit more, and takes into account a huge part of sigs, lighting. Hope this helps for the next ones you do.
Over on the right, the paw, id take a soft erase brush around the sides to blend it better, maybe add a brightness/contrast layer and a color balance layer. The purple on green works, but i think some other color layers could make it better.
