Are there any differences in KHReCom from the NTSC-U/C version and the NTSC-J version that comes included with KHIIFM+? Other than the obvious Japanese audio and text of course. I mean as far as content/story. The reason I'm asking, is I'm attempting to do an undub of KHReCOM (Japanese audio and English Text) and I'm considering whether to just add the NTSC-J audio patched to the NTSC-U/C iso, or inversely do an English Patch to the NTSC-J iso.
Has there been any work on an undub of Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories? I have the NTSC-J copy of this that came with KHIIFM+ and the audio is indeed in Japanese, is there an English patch for ReCOM?
I was able to patch this over top of the English Patch for KHFM and tested the patched iso on a PS2 with OPL off of the hdd. I did have to bypass the file tccalvin said to, in order for it not to freeze, and it worked.
@tccalvin Why no FMV Japanese audio? This is an interesting project that I think we should pursue further. I'm part of an undub discord server, PM me for the invite.
This is something I'm after as well. I'll be working on something here in the next day or so. I'll let you know how it goes.
Could it be done to take the Japense audio from the NTSC-J KH and patch it into the NTSC-J KHFM w/ the English patch that exists? This goes for KF2FM+ and KHReCOM too. Or is it not even worth it at this point in time?
So basically, what is the status of Kingdom Hearts undubs, past, present and future? I'm not well informed with which versions and releases of the myriad of KH games have in fact had Japanese audio, so I don't know where to go from here. I have a couple NTSC-J imports of KH games for PS2 but if the work has all been done officially and the PS3 or PS4 re-releases have the option for Japanese audio and English text, then undubbing at this stage would be futile I suppose, right?
