Okay, I have a Bio project due tomorrow, and my textbook doesn't have diagrams of these two stages.
Interphase G1 is when the cell is preparing for Meiosis/Mitosis; the chromosomes aren't duplicated and are still pretty much invisible.
G2, the chromosomes have duplicated but haven't paired with homologues, and are still pretty much invisible, nuclear membrane is still intact.

    Is this right?

There's a show on all the wonderfully dangerous and possessing-toxin-so-excruciatingly-painful-that-no-drug-can-even-dull-the-agony-and-we-get-to-hear-all-the-people-screaming animals in Australia. (Oh, they just started talking about the funnel web spider and its deadly neurotoxins. Hoorah.)

I might be going to Australia this summer.

    Help me.

I only just now realized that Bach's Invention No. 8 is played as a trumpet heralding throughout several points in this song.

How should this make me feel?

    Here's the story:

    http://www.wtkr.com/news/nationworld/sns-ap-us-candy-bar-lawsuit,0,6805901.story
Summary: A schoolteacher in Indianapolis attempted to give an autistic child a peanut-filled candy bar (he had a severe allergy) in the hopes of making him too ill to go on the field trip that day. Apparently he was disruptive and she didn't want to have to deal with him.

Maybe not national news, but, honestly. He could have died and she was so nonchalant about it. Just because they're autistic doesn't mean they're any less human.

    Thoughts?

...out of Stride gum wrappers. I have 372 already.

Can someone please give me a life?

And I'm honestly curious, has anyone ever tried this? Just the thousand, not the paper of choice.

how so many thread titles in the spamzone give no indication as to the thread's contents and are usually only beginnings of sentences meant to draw in the unsuspecting forumgoer? :/gasp:

They've been to marital counseling for two years now. It hasn't helped. It's actually made it worse, if anything. And she keeps trying to drag me into everything, managing to twist everything I say into an agreement with her. Today seems to be a special day, though, because I came home from school and they were arguing... and they're still going at it.

Why do parents think that it's better to stay together and let their kids hear them screaming at each other night after night rather than divorcing when they obviously don't love each other any more?

I was texting him, and he just seemed kind-of down. I asked him what was wrong. "Nothing. "Are you sure?"
And then for whatever reason he just cracked and started telling me everything. His parents were going through a divorce - he's staying with his mom right now. She's been telling him everything from "You're the reason your father and I are splitting" to "I wish I never had you. We never wanted you anyway." He even heard her trying to make arrangements for him to stay at a family friend's house for a while because she didn't want to see him around. He's always been a really cheerful kid, and he has continued to act like his usual spontaneous self every day at school. I guess he's a good actor. I had no idea what had been going on.
He texted me again the next morning to give the *wonderful* news that he had just woken up and thrown up. For god's sake, he's a skinny kid to start with. I'm worried. I'm really, really worried. For one thing, I had another friend suffer through this and now she's turned to drugs, sex, and self-mutilation. She's thirteen. I can't help but be afraid that this will happen to him, too. He told me not to worry, that it would all work out in the end and that I shouldn't bother telling anyone, but I feel like I need to help him somehow - without breaking his trust. He sounds like he needs more than a shoulder to cry on at this point.
It seems strange to turn to a forum for help with this, but... help with life?

We're doing a photorealism unit in art class, so this got turned in... still awaiting a grade. I actually finished a drawing that I'm happy with.

    Behold.
