I always thought of it like, simply because Riku himself wields both Darkness and Light, that it's nearly impossible for a Heartless or Nobody to be created from him.. I mean like, a Heartless is created when someone's heart is submitted to the Darkness, and they end up losing their original form.. Only after that process (With some exceptions) can a Nobody be formed using the body that was left behind.. Therfore, you may think of it as if Riku is maybe half Heartless, but overall still human, which is why he couldn't possibly have a Nobody...
