Author's Note: I had remembered an old request from one of the members who has been reviewing had suggested to do a one shot AU scenario concerning Namine's destruction. It has been a while since I had made a true AU 'What If' scenario since the Lexeaus/Xehanort's Heartless one-shot. And this idea would hopefully get all the Namine lovers, especially Rain, to come and review.

    Title: Cold-Blooded Termination

    Author: Ziz

Plot Summary: What if 'Ansem' had followed DiZ's orders to eliminate Naminé in punishment for revealing too much to Roxas, if only for personal reasons?
    -----

"It is the fate of one who was not meant to be, a mere accident."

"If you have such hatred for the Nobodies, why did you show Roxas the train? You did not show him the beach after all." It was certainly a good question to ask him if I say so myself. For the past seven days, I've been watching him put Roxas through mental and physical hell in the virtual world. Certainly the restoration of the chained memories was hurting him. Roxas' attempts to resist the flow of Sora's memories from flooding his mind was difficult not to notice although DiZ did not seem to give a crap. Sora was feeling the same pain as Roxas. Although Sora was in a state of suspended animation inside of that pod so he was lucky not to feel the pain that he felt.

They were certainly more connected that they had initially believed.

    Roxas and Sora were Nobodies.

He just smiled at me, "Because he missed the trip to the beach." That certainly didn't give DiZ justification in ordering him to steal the virtual money from Roxas and his friends. I can still remember that moment when Roxas was glaring at me as I retreated to the darkness. I almost killed someone in cold blood although Hayner was virtual.

"Now...," DiZ sat there in the chair staring at the computer screen at Sora's progress thinking what to say next. "What about you Ansem?" He said referring to me by the name of the Heartless King that once took control of my body and made me his virtual slave long ago. "Are the holes in your memory starting to fill in?"

"Yes...the haze is beginning to clear," I responded to him. Despite my memories not having been directly affected by the events of Castle Oblivion like Sora,

"The same thing will be happening to everyone who had ties to Sora. Very soon to them, he will be like a good friend who has gone away for a year." DiZ's words comforted me to know that after a year, all of the people whom Sora met could finally remember the deeds he done. It did also mean that the people of the worlds which I had met. This is specifically referring to those Princesses of Heart that I had kidnapped under Maleficent would remember my deeds although I could had cared less what they thought of me. I want to be assured that Sora will be awake soon and running once again finishing the job he started.

The process of complete restoration was at hand.

It was only a matter of time until he would awaken.

"I have waited and now I want to know." I had been waiting to say these words since the moment he had first met him in Castle Oblivion. This was the time where I demanded answers from him. "We have been allies since the day that we meet in Castle Oblivion one year ago yet you fail to offer me any further reason to continue to aid you. What is it that you want in the end of it all? What drives you to do this?"

"I want nothing in the end except revenge for the sins of the Organization."

    "Revenge..."

So we did all of this just for revenge againist the Organization?

All of this planning for months and working alongside Naminé all for revenge?

I was being used as a tool, just like Ansem.

"Now for the finishing touches of my plan." Heh, it was about time that we got to the final stages of our 'plan'. "First, we must terminate the existence of that witch Naminé once and for all. She's done a remarkable job with the Keybearer but she has outlived her usefulness to us and it is high time she disappeared. Roxas was not the only one who was a Nobody that never was meant to exist. I want you to take care of it personally." Was this what needed to happen for Sora to come back? After one year of being helped by Naminé, I wondered if it was moral to do such a thing.

"Even to someone who does not have a heart such I?"

"Why should I be the one to eliminate her?" I shouted angrily at him as I kicked my chair down on the floor and immediately rose. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. I had it up to here with DiZ's crazy mumbling and no longer could stand by as he was going to have his way again especially when it concerned killing Naminé. DiZ was just as bad as I was when I was under the influence of Maleficent and her gang of evil villains. Hell, he was making Ansem look good just about now. The words which emitted out of my mouth were poor in choice so I corrected myself, "I meant that why should we eliminate her at all?"

It was not right to be saying such things after all she's done for us.

I was sure that was wrong despite my tainting with the darkness.

Damn that Roxas for making me becoming Ansem.

Damn myself for being such a coward that I had to resort to darkness again to beat him.

As I was continuing to mentally damn myself as well as the others in my life, I did not notice DiZ speaking to me, "Her purpose to us in repairing the chains of Sora's memories has already been fulfilled. It is time for her existence to be erased."

What the heck was that even supposed to mean?

Was Naminé just some tool that could be thrown away at a whim? She has done so much for me and that ungrateful guy in the past year by putting the chains in Sora's memories back into their place before she ever tampered with them the year before.

"I no longer need her for our plans due to Roxas returning back to Sora any minute now. One of the Organization XIII's members who goes by the name of Axel is summoning more Nobodies to the virtual Twilight Town. We do not need to risk the chance of her falling into the wrong hands again," said DiZ. "She is inside of her room upstairs in the second floor of the mansion drawing as always. Do it."

    "I won't follow your orders."

There was nothing that would stop me from storming out of the room and warn Nami of what DiZ intended to do. I still had some time left on my side to get her out of here. I could still hide Naminé away from both the clutches of DiZ and Organization XIII in the Destiny Islands until all of this could be over. Despite all the crap I did to the worlds, I had an ally who wandered around the worlds in his motorcycle Fenrir carrying this big-ass sword of his...I forgot his name but his last name I recall was Strife. He would be the perfect person to keep Nami protected from any threats until things could calm down.

I doubt that would happen anytime soon as long as Sora continued to sleep.

The worlds of the Realm of Light were in euphoria awaiting for his return from eternal sleep.

I was waiting for him to return.

    Kairi was waiting for him.

Our friends Selphie, Wakka and Tidus

And as soon as I mentioned that name, my stomach became queazy and weak with disgust.

"You are intending on letting Naminé go free, aren't you Ansem?"

I stopped myself from turning the knob and looked back at the man, "Perhaps." I certainly had to admit it that DiZ was smarter than he looks, "And what if I am?"

"You have grown an attachment to the girl's charm, haven't you?"

In the brief moment of silence that followed DiZ's remark, I could feel a rush of heat as my cheeks flushed crimson with embarrassment, "It isn't like that you know?" As much as she was cute in looks and had a good personality, Naminé was never anything more than an associate. We had never truly clicked so close that we had become true friends although we had our interesting conversations once in a blue moon."She is not even whom I consider a friend." Then again I was a bit tough not considering her a friend since she's treated me with so much kindness and compassion, unlike a certain Somebody that I knew back at the islands although that is something not worth mentioning at the moment again.

My immediate concern at the moment was Naminé.

"Then why are you so defensive about the girl? She can not feel anything for you so why as a Human should you feel a sense of duty to protect this girl...who is not even a true girl but a Nobody." DiZ did not get out at all as much as I was trying to give him the hint without bashing his head in the table with the butt of my Soul Eater. I was trying to be mature about this but gosh darn it, it was getting hard on me not to give in to my temptation. "A Nobody does not have a right to know nor does it have a right to be," were the exactly the same words DiZ said to Roxas.

You are not the person that I met or who I thought I met long ago in Castle Oblivion.

    Who are you?

"Your words won't effect me like they did to many other Nobodies like Roxas whose existence you destroyed." Heh, take that DiZ straight and stuff your mouth. I had it up to here with your anti-Nobody ranting.

"When do you mean the other Nobodies, surely you are specifically referring to Number XIV of Organization XIII...the powerful Questioned Key." He was clearly mentioning her again trying to hold that over my head. The reason why he was mentioning her former Organization title was quite obvious to me. "I am not quite good with remembering names...especially those of Nobodies...dead ones at that. May you care to remind me?"

"Xion," I whispered out her name softly in response. He did not have the honor to say her name since he never knew the girl as he himself did in the year that she existed as a Nobody. In the terms to use to describe the relationship between us, we were very close friends although something inside of me did wish it was a bit more than that. I can't say for sure whether Xion ever had the growing attachment of me as I did of her although I doubt it considering she was a Nobody. It was nice to dream the possibilities although now was not exactly the time. "What does the hell does this have anything to do with Naminé?"

Naminé was not Xion and she will never be.

I won't allow it to happen again.

As much as I despised Naminé, she did not deserve to suffer the same fate as Xion.

"Both are Nobodies whose hearts are connected in some way to that of the Princess of Heart hailing from the Hollow Bastion," responded DiZ. "They are both unstable beings who are the both missing keys that would lead to Sora's completion. The lack of termination of one or both Nobodies' existence would not allow Sora and his chain of memories to be completely stable even with Roxas fusing back with him. Even if you still refuse my orders, her time is almost up and she can not endure being forgotten in everyone's memories while still existing."

"So the only way to make sure that Sora is completely stable is to murder Naminé?" I asked him.

"I am as much againist as you do but our primary goal to bring Sora back from sleep."

"I understand that we are here to bring back Sora. Isn't there another way to make him complete without killing her?"

Sora did not deserve to continue to be trapped within that pod. Roxas was probably already there gazing in awe at finally meeting his Somebody. The plan was nearing full circle and the worlds of Light were calling upon him to ask them to be saved from the Organization. People needed him now more than ever.

"For Sora to become reborn again and awaken from his time of sleep, you must..."

"Put Naminé to sleep," I interrupted him as I opened the door and walked out.

Sorry Naminé but my primary concern is Sora.

I must do what I must to bring him back.

"It is the least I can do for almost killing you."
