It can't be as bad as everyone claims. So don't tell me it is because that is opinion at most. I will play the game and make my own decision. But the demo gave me a good idea of what the whole game would be like. And I am interested in playing through the whole game. And I don't think it will be bad, so I may never realize it then. :)

Final Fantasy II was indeed the most boring for me. Followed by the original Final Fantasy. VIII was great, but I only played a demo of it.

Recently Square-Enix will be planning on unleashing a Mobile Arcade onto cell phones serviced to Verizon. The "MegaTouch Mobile Arcade" is a game series that will utilize the MegaTouch touchscreen. This isn't the first time anything related to Square has been released onto a Verizon mobile phone. Kingdom Hearts Mobile and Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode: Final Fantasy VII were released on Verizon mobile phones as well.

I agree with ALL of what you said. The prehistory and the stories behind most of the characters isn't as original or deep as it could be, and there are so many holes that Nomura continually fills them with strange continuations such as Dirge of Cerberus. It added a new spin on Final Fantasy VII and explored a new prestory on Final Fantasy VII. But, the character all have roles in Final Fantasy VII.

i.e. Cait Sith is controlled by a Shinra agents spying on the actions commited by Avalanche. Yuffie is a Ninja trained by the Wutai, who have been feuding with Shinra since before Final Fantasy VII began.

But, I notice during the story that the characters begin to lose sight of their path. What are their goals? To stop Shinra? To defeat Sephiroth? The characters go back and forth on that.

Final Fantasy IX is my favorite Final Fantasy. Sometimes I think that I am really biased towards that game, but I am getting dettached from that.

But they all revolve around the same mythos that Final Fantasy will not be ending anytime soon. There is really no excuse on why Final Fantasy would be comming to a close.

Most likely it will be used for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. If everything goes successful with the use of the White Engine, then Square might use it for future games on the Playstation 3.

The other thread can be considered dead as the last post was made several weeks ago. So no offense should be made if he didn't know. But I agree with your opinion. Final Fantasy is a great series, with sequels and ports being released almost monthly. It will go on even if FFXIII collapses.

As far as the main series is concerned, Final Fantasy would not end just because the graphics have reached their limit technologically. If Final Fantasy XIII is very successful along with the compilation as a whole, we may see more. But the hype for FFXIII hasn't been very high (in my completely biased opinion). More than likely, we may see the end to the main series of Final Fantasy if FFXIII becomes unsuccessful. But I feel as Final Fantasy will go on for a very long time. It's the majority of Square-Enix's income.

Square-Enix lately has been focusing on the production of titles for its major series' such as Seiken Densetsu, Final Fantasy, DragonQuest, etc. Completely new and original games pop up every once and a while, but not often. I would not expect anymore new games out for a bit. You've still got titles in Final Fantasy such as FFXIII, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, and more. And this arguement is opinionated to an extent. Alot of the games being released are indeed sequels, remakes, and ports. But nothing is wrong with that. There are enough good Square-Enix games for everybody to like something. Is there anybody here that is fed up with all of the releases by Square-Enix thus far? Doesn't seem possible.

Lately the DragonQuest series is becoming more heard of and active, what with the release of DragonQuest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. More games are being released as apart of the DragonQuest series including a DragonQuest IX in development currently. DragonQuest Heroes: Rocket Slime was also released (for the DS), the sequel to Silme MoriMori DragonQuest: Shougeki No Shippo Dan which was released onto the GBA.

That quote by Koichi was put in Famitsu and Koichi confirmed DragonQuest IX on August 19th of this year. Discuss~

Final Fantasy VII isn't the only Square-Enix game to recieve a compilation. Seiken Densetsu, a Final Fantasy gaiden recently recieved a compilation several titles. However, Seiken Densetsu is more famous than it may appear. Here are a list of games that proceeded Seiken Densetsu.

Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2)
    Seiken Densetsu 3
    Legend of Mana
    Sword of Mana

Seiken Densetsu's 2 & 3 were the only parts of the main series at the time. Sword of Mana was a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu while Legend of Mana was an expansion to the World of Mana.

The compilation of World of Mana includes:
    Children of Mana
Dawn of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 4)
    Heroes of Mana
    Friends of Mana
    Seiken Densetsu Mobile

Dawn of Mana will be the fourth title in the main series to be released. Seiken Densetsu Mobile serves as a Cell Phone port of the original Seiken Densetsu. More info on these games may be found here, such as storyline and everything.

If you already know about this great series, than post your views on its developments thus far.

The reason Kingdom Hearts say Squaresoft when you play the disc but the packaging says Square-Enix on the Greatist Hits case is because of when the game was made. Kingdom Hearts was developed and shipped out before Squaresoft merged with Enix, but when the Greatist Hits re-released Kingdom Hearts, it was packaged as Square-Enix as that was the new company name. But the game was officially released before Squaresoft merged so that didn't change.

    Greetings

I enjoyed posting at the KHinsider forums, but the topics there were very boring, and alot of the topics were merely KH theories, many of which were opinionated. Very few valid topics were put up (all of which were stickied). That is my view. But I did like the KHinsider web site. Very informative up until the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 in NA.

No, we are discussing Final Fantasy VII. All Final Fantasies that proceeded Final Fantasy II (the original Final Fantasy III did not incorporate CGI-Animation into cutscenes and didn't even have any) incorporated CGI-Animation into various cutscenes. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children used CGI throughout the entire film. But all Final Fantasies that proceeded Final Fantasy VI were notorious for using CGI even more combined with the 3-D gaming.

I do not want my opinion to seem biased so I will cut to the point. Final Fantasy VII has been deemed by the Final Fantasy gaming fans overall as the most successful and infamous Final Fantasy title in existence. This can be supported accross the web so type in Final Fantasy VII at google.com to find out. There are many reasons, alot of which have been posted already.

    1) The very first of the 3-D Psone Final Fantasies and a beta for CGI-Animation. Although it appears graphically inferior now, at the time of it's release Final Fantasy VII was one of the first video games to support the new 3-D graphics and was a great step in the technological advancement of video games.

    2) The storyline is in-depth and even breaks through the boundaries of it's own settings. Most video games before this time (even other RPGs) had very simplistic stories that allowed you to run through a game in a single day. Final Fantasy VII was gorged with history and culture from within its story that hooked gamers and kept them playing. On top of that, the new graphics and story length kept gamers playing for days. The storyline (in a very brief summary) was all about following the villain's actions and learning more about the villain's intentions along with the games history. The thrills of it all kept people from becoming bored.

    4) The characters. Unlike many games around the time of the glory days for Final Fantasy VII, every character in Final Fantasy VII had their background rooted deep into the storyline of Final Fantasy VII. Their were no loose cannons. Many of the characters appeared distant in thought and feelings, and some just seemed enigmatic. But they weren't just nobodies, and the gamer became greatly attached to the main characters and their plight throughout the game.

Those are the main reasons for the success behind Final Fantasy VII. Everyone has their own opinion including me. My favorite Final Fantasy isn't VII either. Mine is Final Fantasy IX. But all fans of Final Fantasy have to realize that VII was the most successful overall.

Well, you could be talking about two things which appears so.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth for the PSP
Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria for the PS2

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is a PSP port of the original Valkyrie Profile for the PSone. They have identical storylines and everything, except the port was graphically enhanced with new cutscenes. Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria serves as a prequel to Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth as the storyline is set hundreds of years before the time of Lenneth the Valkyrie.
