Simon grumbled as he prepped his medical bag for the landing mission. While it was true that he did have more field experience than his assistant Simon had been through some terrible missions before, at least one of which he had never once described in full detail in his reports. He wasn't looking forward to whatever dangers were to come but it wasn't that he was afraid but because he was not looking forward to watching someone else get hurt. With so few of their kind left around they could hardly afford to be leaping blindly into harm's way. At least his conversation with Emma had ended on a lighter note. Of course she didn't take him seriously on his threat to fly the ship if she hadn't gotten enough rest but he'll show her just how good of a pilot he could be! ...Or not. Because he wasn't. As quick of a study as Simon was...flying a ship as large as the Resilient wasn't as simple as just pushing a few buttons and stepping on the gas(an old Earth saying he had read about referring to ancient land vehicles called 'cars'). He sighed and finished packing his gear. "Well...I guess I'm as ready as I can be. Time to head out and wait." He muttered to himself as he slung the pack over his shoulder and headed for the lift to descend to the lower deck and meet up with the others who were assigned to the landing party.

Atmos was almost amused by Glyde's attitude but the bombardment of questions he had for her was a good sign that he was willing to learn. "The castle you were just in is one of my just like it where those who can wield the keyblade train. As for what happened when you arrived, that's a story that holds little importance now. I know as much of your past as you seem to...likely less than that, with how your memory appears to be. And I cannot leave you behind at the castle. You are strong enough to fend for yourself and stand alongside the other students and if I left you at the castle you would be alone. No one would come to your aid should the castle be attacked in my absence." She looked onward towards the flower shop and motioned for Glyde to follow once more. Upon nearing the elderly shopkeeper the old woman turned towards the two and spoke immediately. "Ah...more off-worlders?" "What do you mean more?" Atmos asked curiously. "Well those garbs you two are wearing...they weren't made from around here. Are you with the one that visits the manor? He always seems to have a way in but its been locked for years...ever since that family passed..." The old woman mumbled to herself, lost in the memory of earlier times. "The last time he dropped by I saw something fall out of his pocket." "May we have a look? He's...an acquaintance of sorts to us. We're looking for him." The shopkeeper nodded and slowly withdrew a scrap of paper that looked as it if had been cut in half lengthwise. "If you see him, be sure to give it to him. I haven't seen him today but maybe you'll have better luck looking elsewhere." The elderly woman then handed Atmos and Glyde the SCRAP OF PAPER. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As soon as Chrono directed his keyblade at the lock on the gate a click could be heard. The chains fell to the ground and the gate swung back slightly with a loud shrill creak. Beyond, in the mansion a figure could be seen through the windows on the first floor moving about. Upon closer inspection one could see that the figure was wearing a weathered black cloak with its hood pulled up. The person disappeared from the view of the window. The sounds of wood snapping and glass breaking quickly followed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The bartender leaned over the bar and eyed the two girls who entered his establishment with some suspicion but as long as they weren't up to trouble and didn't plan on having a drink here, he was willing to answer Aria's questions. The man folded his arms and scratched his chin. "Now that I think about it, I thought I have heard some stories of a hooded fellow lurking around these past few days. I just thought it was crazy talk from customers who've had too much to drink trying to spook one another." The bartender shrugged. "The stranger hasn't spoken to anyone and given the nature of the stories that go 'round these parts...it's difficult to separate fact from fiction. On the same day I heard from two people who claimed they saw this hooded person on opposite sides of town the same day. Another said they saw him step out of a glowing portal. And another said they saw him emerge from the shadows like the monsters from those stories." The bartender went back to cleaning the glasses. "The only things consistent about the stories are that he wears a black cloak, doesn't say a word, and only shows up after sunset." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blinking at the strange looking newcomers the woman tilted her head at Takehiko and glanced over at the overhanging clock in the station. "The last train came about an hour ago. Some creepy guy with a black cloak stepped out and I was surprised he was let on the train in the first place. That black cloak of his looked pretty messed up and it looked like he was limping. Is he with you? You should get him checked-" The woman cut off abruptly. Everything went silent and even the subtle tick-tock of the station clock had ceased. The woman's mouth froze mid-sentence and she did not appear to be breathing. "You're looking for him, aren't you? You're looking for...well the master wouldn't like it if I started blurting his name out to everyone." There was a snicker coming from a young man who stood behind Takehiko and Mikaela. He appeared to be a few years older than Take and in his right hand was a keyblade resting at his side. He looked up at the frozen clock and faintly smiled. "I'm here to tell you to stay out of his way. Trust me, you'll be grateful you did when this is all over. The Light Chaser doesn't want to be found."

Sleep? Who needed that when stimulants were an option? ...Simon did. But a brief nap was really all he needed as he had neglected some of the work his father had given him. The tech team were friendly enough as he had known them to be and there was not really any need to throw his rank around to get work done since they knew what they were doing. All they had to do was follow his specifications for the bioscanners and that was that. The upgrades were complete in a matter of hours while the main crew was asleep. If he had more time to spare he would have logged in some more hours at the bridge but his father was already there taking care of the night shift right up until everyone else had awoken. "Emma, you're up and at the bridge right? You better have gotten some sleep in or I'm piloting the ship." He spoke up on a private communications line as he entered a lift to return to the medical bay. Simon leaned against the wall and folded his arms as he watched the deck numbers change onscreen while thoughts of the mission's outcome lingered in his mind. He had absolute confidence in Emma's abilities but if there was anything dangerous waiting for them...he did not want to watch as his infirmary was flooded with patients. "The weapons crew are already at their stations and I'll be sending in the assignments to the landing party..." There was a slight pause as Garrett typed out the final adjustment to the party after making some reconsiderations. He sent out the message to Allec Ruzen, Jael Carrillo, Cadmus(on Dania's request), Simon, and three other security officers who would join them. "There. It is done, Admiral." As soon as the line was closed another channel opened up immediately. "Why am I being sent to be a part of the landing crew? I thought I was needed at the infirmary. My assistant is a perfectly capable field medic and-" "Your expertise extends a little further than just medical, Simon. Besides, you have more field experience than he does." "I'm a doctor, not a...whatever you think I am! Fine. I'll get ready. And the reason you're not going?" "Coordination of ship resources. My duties are here. Is that all?" "...Yes...sir." Simon cut the communication line off leaving Garrett to his own thoughts and duties to prepare the weapons crew.

Alder looked at where Xen's glasses had fallen after Ria disappeared, wishing he had managed to take out Ria with that one strike. It wasn't enough and their enemy could just take that kind of blow and heal up like nothing. Ria's words were off putting and seemed to give away a great amount of detail for how little was said but...without more background on what was going on he had no idea what to make of it just yet. Though the fact that Ria thought their journal was left behind in the cave did say something to him. "We need to find those people." Alder said with determination, his keyblade vanishing now that the Heartless (and Ria) were gone. "Any idea where to start?"

Atmos motioned for Glyde to follow her. "Come, we can talk as we walk." Without waiting for input from Glyde she led the way heading north. A flower shop open at this hour? It seemed odd to her if only because she had not been outgoing enough as a child to learn what times flower shops normal closed. But on second thought...that seemed like an odd piece of information to retain even if she had been. Glyde did not look to be keen on being questioned but she had to insist if they were going to bring him along. "That was some 'nap' you had earlier. What aren't you telling me?" Atmos kept her eyes forward, allowing the hint of suspicion in her voice to be clearly heard. They approached the flower shop. From where they stood outside it could be seen that the lights were on but aside from an elderly woman watering the flowers inside, presumably the owner, it was empty. Atmos did not make an effort to go inside just yet as she was wishing to hear from Glyde first. The Manor had black iron gates that were sealed shut by a heavy lock and chain. From what one could tell about the manor beyond the gates was that, aside from the hedges along the outer edges of the estate, the grounds were being overrun by vines and the building was appeared to be in a state of decay. It was if a groundskeeper was doing their best to keep the manor looking presentable but had no way of getting past the gate. Windows on the first floor could clearly be seen to be broken. For one instant, the sound of glass breaking could be heard on the inside of the manor. The Tavern, also known as, The Black Mages, was a quiet place with only one table filled with people, a group of friends laughing over some inside joke that probably was not that funny, and two men having a rather dull conversation about the mild weather sitting at the bar. The bartender was busy inspecting a polished glass for signs of spots with a white towel in his other hand ready for action. The bartender turned towards the two girls who walked in and raised an eyebrow at the two young girls. "Are you two old enough to be in here?" The Train Station had at least a dozen people waiting on benches for their train to arrive. The only ticket booth that was not empty held a young female employee who seemed intent on doing what she could to keep from falling asleep at her post by working on the day's crossword puzzle. According to the schedules posted for the arrival and departure times of the train, one had just come and gone an hour ago.

"Xen!" It was all over before anyone could even act. Ria had just suddenly appeared and now they lost one of their own leaving next to nothing behind. Alder pointed his keyblade at Ria rage burning in his eyes. He may not have known Xen well but his death would not go unanswered. Ria mocked them for not sticking together and for not speaking to each other. Perhaps they had a point but none of that mattered now as Xen was gone and Ria was still left standing. That was going to change, Alder would make sure of it. "Tight-nit group? We don't need the others to put you down!" Alder growled as he charged forth headlong into Ria and jumped into the air planning to cleave Ria in two with his keyblade in one mighty strike.

Choma raised an eyebrow upon getting the first glance of the students at Atmos's side. On average it seemed that Atmos had the older students. "It's good to meet face-to-face at last, Master Atmos." He looked over at Aria who was quick to greet the other group and smiled faintly. "My students have been eager to meet yours. She," Choma motioned towards the ever eager Aria, "is Aria. Over there is Mikaela and," The man stepped aside so that Tinarah could come into view as she had sought shelter a little to close to him. "This is my youngest student, Tinarah." Atmos waved at Aria in response to her excited greeting. Thankfully, Choma did not seem to notice Illiana's little disappearing at to get some bread and began to introduce his students. Atmos's eyes lingered on each young pupil he called out before chuckling in amusement. "A tough man like yourself teaching nothing but girls? You poor thing." "It does not matter as long as they are chosen by the keyblade." Atmos nodded in response to Choma's words, gazing for a moment at Aria as her eyes narrowed at the girl before returning to Choma. The man's expression remained steely. "I suppose it's my turn then." Motioning her hand towards each of her students, one by one, she introduced them all. "Takehiko, Glyde, Chrono, and my latest student as of today...Illiana." With introductions settled it was time for business. Choma walked forward towards Atmos, his keyblade vanishing from his hand given that there was no danger present. "What would the Light Chaser have been doing on this world?" He questioned, wasting little time with pleasantries. "That, I do not know. Given that the Light Chaser is what Master Thallasa called our Mystery Woman...or Man, one would assume they are after particularly powerful sources of light." Atmos paused for a moment, seeing a slight look of confusion on Choma's face. "Ah, you were unsure that this Light Chaser person was even a person. Given what little information Thallasa had seen fit to share with us it was difficult to tell if it was a person who sought the light or an object designed to find it. But yes, it is a person. Who? I cannot say." "That's one question answered." Choma scratched his chin and folded his arms. As far as he could tell, there were no powerful sources of light present on this world. Certainly not a Princess of Heart. Perhaps there was another reason... Or perhaps they were being led astray. "We should split up into groups of two and find out if anyone has seen any off-worlders besides ourselves or heard of any suspicious activities lately." "I was just about to suggest that. We seem to be in need for information. In the spirit of cooperation I suggest that one of your students pair up with one of mine so our students can familiarize themselves with one another." Taking it upon herself to delegate pairs of students together she called out the students who would be working together. "Chrono, assist young Tinarah is you may. Illiana, you will go with Aria. Take, that leaves you with Mika. Since there's no one else to pair you off with, Glyde, I'm sorry but you will come with me." Atmos lowered her voice so only Glyde could hear her. "I would like to have a word with you away from the others, anyway." "Efficient. Good. I will search the outskirts of Eventide but I want everyone to meet up here before midnight." Master Atmos hands out a map to each student that she had obtained earlier. With the sun having begun to set there are only a handful of places left open for you to search for answers. Perhaps questioning the right people might lead you to answers. Perhaps not. It is up to you to find out. Places to search: The nearby bakery outside the alleyway. Illiana had visited this place to get some bread. Perhaps the baker had sold bread to the Light Chaser as well? A quiet tavern to the south. A local or the barkeep might have seen or heard something suspicious. A flower shop to the north. Light Chasers like flowers, right? Maybe not but the shop is still open... On the east resides a park. Nothing of note here save for the trouble seeking youths who linger at this time of day. A train station sits on the west. If the Light Chaser booked passage on the train, surely someone would know. On the northeast is an old abandoned manor. The entrance gate is locked and now may not be the best time to search through here. Of course, if none of these places pique your curiosity you could always wander the streets in hopes a stray passerby might hold the answers you seek. Teams: Glyde/Atmos Chrono/Tinarah Take/Mika Illiana/Aria Choma

As the girl explained her predicament Alder scratched his chin thinking back to one of his fragmented memories. "The Extractor...I knew it was created to draw darkness out from people's hearts but I had no idea it was used to this kind of scale..." He shook his head slowly. "That's...not good." Could this girl even survive like this? As far as he knew, he had never seen the process done before but it did not sound like a pleasant experience. Thankfully, it seemed like he had not been a victim of the Extractor as well. At least...he didn't think so. With the Extractor destroyed he had no idea if there was even a way to undo the damage that had been done to this girl but they had to at least try to do something. Alder looked around the area, hearing nothing but the distant machinery. "What happened to all the other inhabitants of this town?"

"We will be meeting the students of Master Atmos. Since I have never visited her castle I don't know who those students are but if they are anything like all of you, I know they will be good allies to have." Choma began to walk towards his students to head towards the Great Hall's exit before stopping just after passing his students. "Unfortunately, there won't be any time to do any formal training. Everything you learn from now on will be due to field experience." Though he felt that there was one last lesson he could impart on his students just before the mission truly began. A "gift" of sorts to enable them to better defend themselves. Choma summoned his keyblade and paused upon thinking of a response to Aria's question. "This Light Chaser might not even be real. To be honest, I'm not completely sure if it's a person at all. But if it exists, it will hold the answer as to what has been happening with the worlds. The longer we wait to act, the more likely another world will disappear from the sky." A brilliant ray of light burst forth from the tip of his keyblade, creating a large portal of light. It was a technique his students had yet to learn but one they would master in time. "This will lead to Eventide Town, where we are meeting Master Atmos and her students." Choma motioned for the portal of light that opened up to another world. This would be his students' first real test of their skill and their mettle. "Given that Master Thallasa had visited Eventide, I would suggest that all of you steel yourselves for battle should Heartless be present." Choma kept his blade in his hand as he walked forth into the portal and vanished from sight. Atmos showed a faint smile on seeing Illiana's calm demeanor. If only she knew Take's attitude. The boy seemed to be expecting a different kind of master to learn from and yet because of that he had become a promising student in his own right. Adversity often makes one stronger after all and Take had not been through so much that it had left him broken. She looked at her students, gathered around the Hall and summoned her keyblade before taking a moment to answer Take's question. They all had a right to be concerned about their homes. She too had been concerned for the well-being of her own homeworld. It had been so long since she had seen it that she had almost forgotten where to look yet it still remained. The same, however, could not be said for Choma's homeworld. That had vanished decades earlier according to him. "From what I have seen, none of our homeworlds have vanished from the sky." Atmos then held out her keyblade in front of her. A beam of light came from her blade opening up a portal of light that they would all be traveling through. "We will be arriving in Eventide Town alongside Master Choma. The man is a little on the stern side so don't try to make too many jokes around him." She mused, flicking her wrist lazily to dismiss her keyblade. In fact, now that she thought about it... Atmos glanced over at Take and smirked. "You know, you would have a lot in common with Choma. Both of you take everything just a little bit too seriously." Atmos shrugged before walking towards the portal, looking over her shoulder to motion for her students to follow after her. "Don't worry, from what I hear Eventide Town is a rather mellow world." And with that, she vanished into the portal. The sun was setting on the quiet town, the streets emptying as businesses closed up shop and families returned to their homes. In an alleyway between two neighboring shops two portals of light opened up facing each other. From one, Master Atmos stepped out soon to be followed by her students and from the other, on the opposite side of the short alley, came Master Choma and his own students. The faintest scent of baked bread could still be found in the air even at this hour...

She mused, flicking her wrist lazily to dismiss her keyblade.
Glad I'm not normal prem anymore.

With the battle over and the person, now revealed to be a young girl, coming out to greet them with nothing but contempt Alder stepped forward and knelt beside the sobbing teenager. "Look, whatever happened, we can do whatever we possibly can to help you out. My friends and I here are missing large chunks of our memory and if we did anything, even unintentionally, I'm sure we can help you. Just tell us what happened here, please." The words came out softer than even he anticipated. Nothing about this girl or this place jogged his memory but if there was even the slightest chance they had caused this girl and the people of this town any pain he knew they had to rectify that. Now.

I'd say bye but...we haven't spoken on KHV or the server for a while. I'll just go back to texting you or bothering you on facebook or something. But for dramatic effect...
Alright. Just PM me your Discord ID when you can and I'll add you.
You're in. Hey, do you have a Discord account? There's a group for this RP there and if you want I can bring you over to that. Anyway, you can post now or wait for my next post later today and just say your character tagged along with the group.
"Understood, Admiral." Garrett spoke after Dania had finished giving them their orders. Considering everything seemed no more difficult to him than some of the most treacherous assignments he had been given in the past...especially given the more aggressive nature of the previous admiral. Garrett folded his arms and glanced over at Emma who, as always, maintained her enthusiasm regardless of what was going on. At least someone in this place could always be counted on to show up with a smile. It may not have been professional but it was a welcome change to the strict discipline he kept his security team following. There did not seem to be any time for questions because almost as soon as Dania was finished explaining the mission she left. "You heard the Admiral, let's get moving." Obviously, this was directed towards Emma due to Cadmus holding a higher rank than himself. Garrett stood up and, without wasting another second, left the room without another word. Simon, the great doctor that he was, agreed to drug the ever living daylights out of John...in a good way. The sleepy kind. It was just a relaxant to help the man sleep, nothing too serious. One pill was all it took and once the medicine was back under lock and key(nothing could be removed without his or another doctor's say), Simon dimmed the lighting. "Get some rest. I know you'll feel much better after some sleep and breakfast in the space-morning." Finally, after having allowed John to get settled in Simon left the room after calling for his assistant to come in just to not leave the medical bay unstaffed. Once outside into the fresh open air one could only get from recycled oxygen in an airtight space vessel, Simon stretched out called for the computer to give him a location of Emma. The response he got was unsurprising. From what he could tell, she, his father, Cadmus, and Dania were in a briefing session. With nothing left to do, other than put off work his father had given him to the last possible second, he decided to wait outside the office for Emma to catch up with her once she was out. And...almost as soon as he arrived Dania left the room, heading in the opposite direction he had just come from. Thankfully it just meant that he did not have to give a salute or...similar respectful gesture. Not long after, his father walked out. The two looked each other in the eyes for a short moment and Simon just awkwardly waved at Garrett. His father raised an eyebrow in response and left Simon to his own devices after saying, "She's inside."

"You're ready?" Choma repeated after Tinarah eyeing the young girl with curiosity. The child hardly seemed old enough to be embarking on such a dangerous mission but was not as if wielders of her age had not existed before. He had been a young man by the time he could summon his keyblade but had once crossed paths with a Master taking a young lad who had drawn on the power of the keyblade at an age even younger than Tinarah. He recalled that even Atmos had once trained a child around this girl's age. Still, seeing her here so young and innocent made him wish he could just have her stay behind. But that would be unwise, especially given the powerful light she held. He was not going to remain at the castle and she would have been alone. At least this way she would have her fellow students and friends to look after her should she ever falter. Before he could offer Tinarah any words of comfort the sounds of hurried footsteps came echoing into the Great Hall causing him to turn his head in the direction of the two girls who arrived just now. Aria and Mikaela. "Good to see you girls. It will be some time before you see this castle again so I hope all of you are well rested. Normally a mission like this would require all of you to have several more years of training but, given the circumstances, there is no time for that. All of you will have to become masters of improvisation and keep each other close. The dangers ahead will be very real but together I have confidence that you will overcome the trials ahead." Choma spoke sternly, showing no signs of doubt or hesitation in his voice. He truly did believe in these youths. They may have lacked experience but even now he could feel the strength of their hearts. "I know that I have not given you enough information on the journey you all will be partaking...and truth be told, there is much that is still unknown to me, but I will be as open as I can be to what this is about." Atmos opened her eyes upon the sound of rustling just outside her window. She turned her head lazily to watch as a girl spoke in a language she did not understand. Atmos perked her brow and tilted her head quizzically though she did not get up from her chair to do anything about the harmless intrusion. Finally when the girl did speak in a language she understood, an accent present in her speech, the name this girl had given her matched the newest student who had arrived earlier. They had never formally met until now. "It is good to finally meet you, Illiana. Do come in, please. I am Atmos, Master of this castle. And the window is open because I like the breeze. Despite their size, castles can be quite stuffy if one does not open a window." The woman finally stood up from her chair and moved towards her bookcase, staring at it for a moment before shaking her head. There was nothing of interest here anymore. Atmos glanced over at Illiana and focused on the ice cream she held. Perhaps it was not her favorite color but ice cream was ice cream and watching someone else have some made her want some. Maybe when this was all over they could all get ice cream as a reward. That seemed like a tastier treat than the self-gratification of saving the worlds. "I hope you brought some for the whole class, Illiana." She motioned for the girl to follow after her with her hand. "Come. I'm sure Take will have a fit if we do not show up on time." Without further ado, Atmos led the way for Illiana towards the Great Hall and on the way she would make a passing glance at the girl to glean whatever information she could from her. Illiana seemed capable with a great potential for growth just as Chrono and Take did. Unfortunately, that would not be enough...but she had seen what kind of power friendship could bring from people so this brought her a great deal confidence in her students. They may not be close now but adversity could do wondrous things to strengthen bonds and resolve. "I hope this quest brings you the answers you seek. Or, perhaps show you that what you seek is not what you want." She offered a small smile to Illiana before they entered the Great Hall. "I'm sure you are all partially aware of why I gathered you all here today. So allow me to explain further what we are up to here..." "The skies have been growing dark. One of the first lessons taught to us wielders is that every star in the night sky is a world of its own. I do not know where these worlds are disappearing to but we are heading to Eventide Town to meet up with another Master. Despite the fact that our rules forbid this, given that every other Master has gone silent we have no choice but to work together with another group. In one of her messages before Master Thallasa vanished she briefly brought up a person known as the Light Chaser and that this person would know what was happening to these worlds. She went out in search for the Light Chaser but disappeared on her journey. We have reason to believe the Light Chaser may be at Eventide. However, I have been sensing darkness coming from that world so we must be ready to fight if the need arises."
