Just giving my thanks for that treasure trove of a link you put in your sig. Never got to play Jet Set Radio, but I always knew the soundtrack was...
I think I could do it, but I would come back to the world just a big mess. Just a big cranky sexually frustrated mess.
Clearly you've never rolled with the Dolphin crew.
All the best going your way, birthday lady.
Does anyone ever wonder what goes on with the pilots of those AT-ATs whenever they do that harpoon thing? Rebel: I'm going in for the old trip-wire move~ *meanwhile.....* AT-AT Pilot: Oh, ****. AT-AT Co-pilot: What's up? Pilot: The rebels are doing the thing with ropes again. Corey: Oh, that's not good. Co-Pilot: Should we......you know.....maybe jump ship? Co-pilot: *Sigh* ****... Pilot: Dude? Co-pilot: Nah, f*** it. Vader's just going to choke us for it later anyway.
Just Dragon and Power Ranger; and aaaaall of 'em in green.
What you're explaining is pretty much the problem with my family dynamic in a nutshell. My father immigrated after 20-something years of living in the European farmlands, and he holds on to those farm-boy values of being straightforward and hyper-conservative on moral issues to the point where he often criticizes the rest of us (who grew up accustomed to a liberal city life) for being subtle and a little more morally gray. We can't blame him for it though, because he grew up different; his standards and values come from a totally different place from our own so all we can do is agree to disagree on how things are done or compromise. He may not understand that what he does makes us feel judged, but we all know how stubborn the old man is so we've come to accept it. Now, if your friend being vocal on your differences with relationships upsets you - maybe makes you feel like you're being judged?- you should let her know. Keeping this type of tension in your relationships leads to someone (in this case, you) feeling alienated, and what kind of friendship is that afterwards? If the two of you can agree to live and let live- all the better. If not, then you can either put your foot down or keep putting up with it. *2 cents*
Cram it like a motherf***er.

I could've been getting laid in 8 minutes.
All three, in fact.
If you don't mind episodic storytelling, then Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are a good place to start to start. Cowboy Bebop has something of a cult following for it's unique emphasis on style and character development, while being very carefully in how it distributes it's story. While you're watching this, keep in mind that this isn't so much a show with a story to tell as it is a show that tries to get you thinking about a specific idea with each episode ( up to you to figure out what that is). Just so we're clear, this isn't a Western, but a Sci-Fi made up to have a Western feel to it (kind of like an anime version of Firefly, but a lot more bluesy than country). If that works out for you, Samurai Champloo is considered a 'spiritual successor' to Cowboy Bebop, meaning that while the setting, story, and visual styles of it are completely different, it comes from the same mold as Bebop in how the story is told and how the characters are fleshed out. Kinda hard not to like one without liking the other, imo. If you're looking for something that really takes you outside the box, you might benefit from Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan. It also has a cult following, but the story progression is superb and unexpectedly well thought out considering how ridiculous and zany the show's style is, but that's also part of it's charm. However, if you're looking for something a little more......traditional in design, then Fullmetal Alchemist could be the perfect fit for you. But just a heads up, you'll come across two titles: Full Metal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, with the latter being a reboot that follows the original manga. If you want to get into FMA, then I suggest you watch Brotherhood later, otherwise you might not appreciate the differences between the two. NOTE: With the exception of Gurren Lagann, I'd recommend the Dub over the Sub, because Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Fullmetal Alchemist (both titles) are dubbed superbly, and that's something most people would agree on (which is really rare in the anime community).
