I'd say that's because right now EVERYBODY wants to be a game maker. You need to make money, even if you're small, so doing something a bit safe is pretty much required unless you have a lot of financial stability already

Seriously, from the same mouth I'll hear people say that a strong female character isn't a character who acts masculine, who isn't sexual, who isn't nonsexual, who isn't typically feminine... so what IS it?
Like on one extreme you have people saying a character like Katniss from the Hunger Games isn't a strong female character because she's just a male character reskinned as female, her 'strength' coming from the denial of typically feminine ideas. On the other end you have people complaining that I dunno... the girls from Frozen aren't strong female characters because a man influences their actions, one of them is obsessed with being with a man, and they wear dresses, among other things
If I were in charge of something and were told have have a strong female character, I'd be TERRIFIED, because it really seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, where doing anything masculine is seen as a betrayal, and anything feminine is viewed as retrograde

Video games have potential beyond killing but
for one thing, it's hard to make. Video games are an action based genre. You perform an action, and onscreen an action is performed. that lends itself to combat and the like WAY more than pretty much anything else.
Combat also sells WAY better than most things. It's human nature. I actually really liked this part in Assassin's Creed 4, where you can read the employee's messages as they design their game/movies. It gives some legitimate insight into how games (and I assume movies) are made

I'm not sure about the finer details of what falls under caucasian classification, but generally when people say white they're talking typical British ancestry sort of thing, Delsin is Native American

20 million... is not very much. KH involves a huge team, you have to pay them all, hire people to play the orchestral music. Pay the voice actors, pay for the rights to use licensed music (like He's a Pirate or Beauty and the Beast) The upcoming game Destiny had a budget of 500 million dollars for advertising alone.
20 million? That's how you make an up scale indie game, Kingdom Hearts is going to need a lot more than that, especially something as important as KH3
What will that budget be? No clue, not even a slight one. That kind of information very rarely trickles down to the public.
If I had to take a shot in the dark, I'd put it somewhere in the 600+ million range, assuming KH3 is going to be on the same scale as KH2, if not bigger

I LOVE Video Game Orchestra. This is... like the only way they could make this a bigger deal would be if the freaking philharmonic orchestra performed it
...so can I listen to it now please?

Well you could always make monetizeable videos and try to earn your money back. roughly 250,000 views on adsense would pay for it, and there's big demand for 3DS captures because not many people buy the capture card
