Cheren was about to step forward with Stoutland to attempt to stop Zinzolin's rampage, but just as he went to do so, Bianca wrapped her arms around him tightly, preventing him. He was about to protest this, when he realised just what it was he had intended to step forward and fight for in the first place; to protect her. If he allowed the same thing that happened to Red and Gold to happen to him, that would only harm her more.
Silently, the boy wrapped his arms around Bianca in return, holding her close to him as she sobbed, he himself glaring at the Plasma Sage alongside his Stoutland.

"Nate. Don't." Mei said, looking at the boy beside her. Without realising, she had grabbed ahold of his hand during the whole ordeal, and the pair could both feel the other's shakes.
"We... aren't strong enough yet. Dewott and Servine would go down instantly."

"No others?" Zinzolin asked, waiting patiently for the next challenger to approach him. "How wise of you to realise you cannot win. The only thing that can match the sheer force of a Legendary is another Legendary, and we possess all but a few of them now. Only--"
Cutting off the Plasma Sage's words, a surge of cyan electricity fell all around him, as the area fell pitch black. Articuno and Zinzolin both looked around in confusion, trying to work out just what was happening, when a great shape came down from the sky, flashing with a cyan glow for an instant, before it slammed itself into Articuno, sending the bird smashing into the ground with considerable force.
"Now, Zekrom!" a voice called out, apparently from the shape's back. "Fusion Bolt!"
An instant later, a second surge of light-blue electricity struck the bird as it began to stand, quickly ripping up the ground around them both, forming a crater.
The light began to return, revealing the fallen form of Articuno, a shocked and outraged Zinzolin,... and the legendary black dragon of Unova, Zekrom, together with it's trainer.

"You!" Zinzolin growled in anger at the newcomer as he stepped off of his dragon before him.
"You stand against us now? Against the group you once worked for?!"
"The Team Plasma that pronounced me it's king is not the Team Plasma that my father wanted. As long as you remain loyal to his lies, I do."
"Very well... I will remember this, traitor. You have won, this time. Plasma, Rocket, let's go!" Zinzolin announced, the grunts gathering to his side, as a second smoke bomb went off, covering their exit.

Turning to his Pokémon, N spoke after a short pause, his speech flowing from his mouth particularly fast.
"Zekrom, I will attend to Articuno. Please free the others from his ice." he said, before approaching the ice-type legend that was still unconscious on the ground.

"Team Plasma and Team Rocket's goals simply coincide." a voice spoke out, as a larger figure than before entered the scene, Pokéball in hand.
"We merely both want the same thing; absolute control of the world and it's resources. Be it this world or our own."
The voice belonged to an elder man, dressed all in dark purple, looking like an elite of Team Plasma... or it's leader.
"I am Zinzolin. Two years ago, I served as one of the Seven Sages of Team Plasma. Unlike the other Sages, I remain here with Plasma, intent on fulfilling our goals."

"However, both two years ago and now, people stepped forward to interfere. You, Hilbert Black, Hero of Truth, defeated our King N, and even our true lord Ghetsis using Reshiram's power."
The man looked up, as he narrowed his eyes as the group of Pokémon trainers, his eyes betraying that he knew something they did not.
"However, that was then. This is now. We have greater power than before; power that surpasses even that of the legendary dragons."
"...Nate." Mei whispered, standing beside the boy, and trembling ever so slightly.
"...do you think he's serious? Could Plasma really have that kind of..."

"Allow me to demonstrate our newfound strength." Zinzolin proclaimed, bringing the Pokéball in his hand forward, before flinging it into the area between them.
"Show them your power! Articuno!"

Spoiler: Music

From the Pokéball burst a blue bird Pokémon, a legendary of the Kanto region, whose mere presence made the air in Haven City grow slightly colder. It was subtle, but the bird seemed as though it was... darker somehow. As though something about it's soul was different to a normal Pokémon. Regardless of what it was, The Pokémon seemed loyal to Zinzolin to a deadly degree.
"Articuno, Shadow Chill!" Zinzolin roared, as the legend opened it's mouth, letting loose a beam of ice that tore through the air before them and struck Garchomp before it had chance to fully react, knocking the dragon out instantly due to it's quadruple weakness to the Ice type.
"Do you understand now? The power that Team Plasma holds; the strength given to us by shadow technology!"
