Being short can actually be one of the better things in a sport. Usually you are quicker on your feet. And if they seriously do not like you, here is a tip, take the insult and play on it. If you go along with things, the target on your back gets smaller because there is no fun in it for them if you aren't effected.
Well, about those guys that hate you, It may be better to stay away from them completely, and do you have evidence that they hate you?
