Okay, it's there, but GIMP can't find it.

"Try putting the location of your bin folder in the system path. Right
click my computer, select advance tab, select environment variables, in
system variables scroll down to path, highlight path, click edit and add
the location of your bin folder. Be sure to use a semicolon as separator."

Before uninstalling anything, can you check if the libgimpui-2.0-0.dll file is in your "C:\Program Files\Gimp-2.0\bin\" directory?

I'm not familiar with this problem since GIMP always runs fine whenever I update or reinstall it.
Does the error provide any additional information, like exactly what file is missing? My guess is that it's a DLL file.

    Browsers

I have come to hate Internet Explorer.

At least IE8, which my final website project for my JavaScript class had to be presented. Maybe I should be angry at my professor for not assigning a browser that adheres to W3C standards, or at least one that works on more than one type of OS. Valid JavaScript code that I wrote that works perfectly well in other browsers simply did not work in IE. Spent hours rewriting my code or writing workarounds for IE8.

    Firefox/Chrome gave me no problems.

This is what I'm currently doing on my computer. I set it to update every 20 seconds. Refresh this page/post if you you want to see the updated picture. I'll disable it when working with something sensitive or watching movies not appropriate for the forums.

2001: A Space Odyssey: I believe this film will defiantly stay considered as one of the greatest movies of all time. I saw it on television today and I was in awe of the special effects, imagery, and message.

Babel: It's hard to not feel sympathy for the very real characters in this movie. Saw it for the first time yesterday on DVD.

Norway sounds like a dreamworld. A great relief from the State's politics and economy with things like free higher education, no death penalty, and universal healthcare. I currently live in Los Angeles, California.

Now that the semester is over, just want everyone to know that I will be starting work on the extractors for Re:CoM. It will be like 10 times more complicated to make because of the sheer amount of FMVs in that game.

    Re:CoM extractor is now done!

You didn't exactly make it sound like you actually tried out other programs.
Have you seen Blender? It's a 3D editing suite but it can be used for video editing.

Before spending money, I suggest that you research free alternative video editing programs, if all you're sick of is the default one that came with your computer.

I realize that this thread hasn't been responded to in half a year.

I've been taking a class on JavaScript. I'm also familiar with some scripting languages like Bash and C Shell.

My first experience with programing was with the video game, The Sims; creating hacked objects with unique functions. I used a program that displays and edits objects in a visual flowchart, which made it easy for a beginner.
I fist used scripting to make the tedious task of encoding several hundred videos, into a job I can execute and forget.
I've also written a script that extracts a movie DVD and converts it in a MKV container.
More recently, I've publicly released a script that extracts the video files from the Kingdom Hearts II disc.

No doubt that many people were affected. Can't help but connect this with Microsoft's acquisition of Skype.

"It is a common belief that protein is an important element in a sound diet, and that meat is high in protein. Both statements are true, but there are two other facts that are less well-known among people uneducated in nutrition. The first is that the average American eats much more protein than needed, and that this has severe health consequences. According to Dr. T. Colin Campbell, a professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University and former senior science advisor to the American Institute for Cancer Research, there is 'a strong correlation between dietary protein intake and cancer of the breast, prostate, pancreas, and colon.'

The second thing to know about protein is that plant protein is equally nutritious as animal protein, and in many ways, it is far superior to animal protein. Though it is true that foods such as eggs and human milk have a high "biological value" in terms of amino acid composition, this does not in any way imply that they are good foods for adult human consumption. Plant foods contain a broad range of essential amino acids. An editorial in the medical journal Lancet reports, 'Formerly, vegetable proteins were classified as second class, and regarded as inferior to first-class proteins of animal origin, but this distinction has now been generally discarded.'"
    - The Truth about Protein and Calcium

I've been convinced for years that a diet without animal protein is far healthier than one with.
Although, not everyone's bodies are the same, so if you're serious about eating a nutritious diet, you should consult a physician.

I think this new meat will not be any less healthy than traditional meat. Especially with it eliminating factors such as E. coli if undercooked.

Yes, people can choose to be a vegetarian for many reasons, like religion, environmental, animal rights, or health.

I'm in all of those categories, except religion. And I doubt meat will ever be healthy for you. If you're a vegetarian because of religious reasons, I guess it would depend on your reasoning regarding your faith whether or not you will eat this meat.

If it is as they claim, meat production that requires less resources, has less environmental impact, and is much more animal friendly (compared to mass factory farming), then there should be little reason to accept this new meat.

My only concern is price. The ones that control the meat market are big food corporations like McDonald's and Tyson. I'm not sure that they will make a move to this meat if it's not offered for less then what they currently pay, plus they already have something that works. Also, I don't think there is going to be much pressure from the community for them to move to this. Most people seem to be just fine with, or just don't care where their meat comes from.

Anyway, I am for this. It looks like a good alternative to traditional meat, but as vegetarian I won't be having any.

Not even the wired ones? I was able to download the missing wireless driver after connecting directly to my router.
I've tried the most recent Ubuntu (11.10), and it had my netbook's wireless drivers preloaded.

Here's my Windows 2000 desktop running in an emulator. I only usually use it for testing my applications under Windows and Internet Explorer.

I no longer de-rep as I believe it only serves to make people feel bad. If you have a problem with a person, I think it will be better to talk to them instead.

Thank goodness Microsoft had the brains to decide to remove that three applications running limit on Starter. I'm pretty sure adding the ability to change or remove the wallpaper would have no negative affect on performance. If you're able to do it in XP, you should be able to do it in Starter, or else I wouldn't even be an upgrade.

A simple Google search for "windows 7 starter change background", let me find this. I haven't tested this myself, but if you really want to change your wallpaper, it looks like it will work.

Okay, it's just what I'm tiring to say is that if that courtroom scene had taken place in real life, even eighty years ago, it would have gone by very differently. I think having someone else fight your battle while quietly standing idly by is the exact opposite of courage. I would have been happy if the Blacks did anything in their own fight for freedom.

Oppressed does not equal defenseless, they could have stood up for themselves. As Ebert said in his review of the movie, the lack of any emotion or action after the conviction makes it clear that they're unwilling to fight back. The Black characters are essentially props.
