Sorry to say, but there is already a thread that polls the religious denominations of members here.

The poll is more in-depth as well. On a side note, it shows that only 15% of members are atheist :)

Try the search function next time (it is back up, isn't it? >_>)

You haven't tried to teach me anything. You are the lazy one if you are going to claim that people are ignorant and when they ask for information so that they can make a more informed judgement and you call them lazy. That is about as hypocritical as they come.

That is part of debating you know, making your point and backing it up with evidence. In a discussion you may just make a point, but a debate requires substance with the point. Perhaps you should try perfecting your technique? :)

Also, I will see myself as right until someone provides evidence to the contrary. You have done no such thing.

We also need the proof behind your statements before we can even begin to consider them. The burden of proof is on you to prove your theory, not on us to disprove it.

On an unrelated note, good spelling and grammar go a long way in improving people's perception of you ;) (Here's a little hint, Atheist is spelt like this)

I don't see a single shred of evidence or research to back up your side of this debate in terms of this "numbers" theory.

You do realise that the Aztec religion based a lot of their mythology upon the number 10 and it's multiples? Numbers are numbers. We made them up, and yes there are an infinite number of them. How does that make anything different?

I also can't see how this makes me close-minded. I would also like to know what it is you know that makes you right in this case.

That entire "theory" falls down at the very definition of "god". God is supposed to be everywhere all the time, able to see and do anything and everything.

Because they are a human invention. Simple counting. There is also the fact that if someone were, say, writing what they wanted to be a popular piece (factual or not) they would use so-called "significant" numbers. Multiples of three and twelve (mostly time) are very common because they are what people know.

Using numbers in that way is the same as saying "Oh look they used words to write the Bible". It tends to be the done thing.

I believe you will see that the thread was indeed posted at 3.33am and I was indeed at a party last night in the middle of nowhere =]

Religious debates are fun because they bring out the idiot in people.

The only real option for completely clean energy would be safe cold fusion. Unfortunately we are a long way off making this possible. Don't get me wrong, they can cause fusion to happen, it just uses more energy than it produces >_>

Bio-fuels sound good until you realise the damage it does when it is grown and the fact that that is a lot of food that we can no longer eat. Considering there is already starvation, burning our food supply doesn't sound like the best option.

Great, apart for the fact I didn't make the connection between recent heavy snow fall and house out in the middle of the country D:

I choose completely the wrong shoes for walking in snow T_T Although I managed to avoid getting rolled in the snow, which happened to several people :3

Just thought I'd let you know that I posted this at 3.30am while drunk after a party 8D

It's amazing how much attention drunken posts get...

And anyway, this place gets boring. I was just trying to liven things up and oh look, an 80 post long thread appears =D

This is what I think is ok, personal belief in a higher power that doesn't require validation by millions of people worldwide (even if I personally think it is a load of bull).

    Here's a hint, the asterisks' begin with a "c".

I'm not trying to force my views on anyone, just voicing my opinion. Seems that the martyr within you wanted a word. I tell that martyr to feck off.
