I'm still convinced that Itachi had a reason for what he did and that it just hasn't been revealed yet... I guess that doesn't change the fact that he's quite a twat though.
I've only played the second Xenosaga (since 1 wasn't released here in Europe), and I would say it was pretty good. It's very story heavy though, so if you dislike long cutscenes then best stay away.
