even if he was hell probly be driving again in no time (at least thats my experience of it in the UK), hell get slapped on the wrists, fined, points on his licence (UK again) and even if hes banned its usually only for a year, tops. it sickens me. they should never be allowed to drive again and if they are caught driving again they should be confined to a wheelchair if you know what i mean

do you have public information films in america? that show the dangers of drink driving/driving when tired/driving on mobile/being anywhere near a road? the most recent one is so distressing i nearly cried when i saw it, but i cant find it on youtube.....probly for the best anyway

i dont cut myself and people still call me emo. when i think of a 'goth' i think of all dressed in black, piercings, big boots etc. an 'emo'.....

ARGH THIS IS HARD TO EXPLAIN!!!!!

theres just a difference and no you dont have to self harm to be emo, but i suppose emo is just to vague and broad a term

even though english is my native language, i think its very pretentious to say that english is a universal language. just because lots of people speak it (thank the british empire for that) doesnt mean that we should expect everyone to be able to. i hate the way english tourists go to foreign countries expecting everyone to speak their language, its so lazy. and then in countries like the UK and the USA there is very little effort made to learn 'foreign' languages.

i have to admit that i am/was obsessed with stereotypes cos i used to be really average and, well, boring and i really wanted to 'belong' (lol i wanted a label). so i chose a stereotype and modelled myself and now (some i think) people call me emo. before i had the stereotype of being a swot (ie someone who does really well in school and does extra work etc) which im trying to get rid of cos i hate being called a swot. the problem is that people use stereotypes and generalisations because it makes their lives easier. if they looked at everyone/thing seperately nothing anyone said would make sense so in a way stereotypes are good sometimes. (i really dont know where im going with this:D ).

i dress in the 'emo' style ie. skinny jeans (which have become too loose on me now ugh), studded belt, vans (type of shoe), striped jumper thing thats black and grey and am growing my hair (painfully slowly:mad: ) and i get depressed sometimes (well more often than id like) but i dont cut myself and......cry sometimes but mostly in private (except two nights ago when i brokedown in front of my dad:( ) but i wouldnt consider myself emo, i just like the emo style. you can make your own judgement. is it just me or are people forgetting an important fact - religion and science are NOT mutually exclusive. there are plenty of religious scientists. religion and science are not at war, they are just two different ways in the pursuit of truth in our existence.

science is not out to disprove God, not to any stretch of the imagination. scientists use reason, observation and experimentation to explain the world around them, and if this makes the idea of God seem weaker then so be it. the truth can hurt but its still the truth, although not all science is completely proven there is still evidence to support it. religion does the same thing except basically takes a different path to reach the same end.

i hate when people generalise, on both sides of the argument:mad:

i completely agree, this is never going to be resovled so insulting others just because you think you are right isnt going to help. i personally believe in evolution, but i dont care what anyone else thinks, that is my opnion if someone else thinks something else as long as it doesnt affect me (ie they dont try to force their opinion on me) im fine with it.

with an issue as 'big' as this theres no point getting so worked up about it cos theres is next to no chance that either will be proved without a doubt in our lifetimes. [/rant]
