As others have noted, there are severe conditions such as bipoloar, schizophrenia, Multiple Personality Disorder, OCD, PTSD etc where depending on how severe, they may be on medication the rest of their lives. Drugs aren't just a 'help' in some cases. They are something that some people have to expect they may have to live with because the problem would not go away whether they switched their life style and environment or not. However, the problem remains that some people are misdiagnosed due to the fact that psychiatrists don't spend enough time with a patient unless they are decent and not just out for money. Depression is a common thing to treat, but quite a few times, it is just something caused by an underlying mental condition such as OCD or PTSD or ADD etc. Also, these disorders can range in how severe they are, as can conditions such as bipolar or schizophrenia. If any medications are given, or not given, a patient trusts a psychiatrist to help him or her fix up things and move forward. Despite all of the problems with psychiatry though, having taken some courses myself in it in college, I can see the reasons why it is necessary. Also, knowing some friends that battle with things and having ADD that varies in severity myself, I can say it is more important than some people say. I don't like drugs and so try to deal with things myself but I do know bipolar people that they are nearly totally different people when off drugs. Also, people with PTSD and OCD can be quite different too when on treatment and off it. So that video that you have PAW is a bunch of crap really. Scientologists also try to tell people to not take drugs and psychiatry is a joke. I don't think 'drugs' are for everyone but again, I think it depends on the people individually. Having no psychiatry field would be a nightmare, but I do think it needs to be fixed up some, for the reasons I stated in my post above and others have also said.
Staph has always been a problem, especially in hospitals, because it survives so long outside of the body. However, this strain is particularly nasty and it certainly prompts me to want to wear gloves when I go out, in case I have to use a public bathroom. Hopefully more people will start disinfecting with bleach more in public places because staph virus can survive for at least a week just being on counter tops and toilet seats etc. It's very nasty.
Blindness is a symptom or effect of something else. You can get a disease such as gonorrhea which can cause blindness, but you can also get it from glaucoma, or you can be born with it, or just have weak retinas etc. It isn't a disease in itself.
I wouldn't say it's 'environmental' either really, though some minor part, that probably plays. I feel it is more of a personal thing of attraction and repulsion and hormones really. I don't feel it is 'genetic' solely either. As I've said before, I hate peas and the smell of them makes me want to barf as they boil, but my family ate them just fine and in fact some love them. I can't explain why I have this revulsion to them. I also can't explain why I like someone with tanned skin more than I do someone with a pasty complexion, or hazel eyes more than blue, or someone who is lean and muscular versus someone who has rolls of fat. Why I dislike fish smell but prefer a good steak etc. My selective things I think are great versus what will turn me away are my own, and some I can relate with my family on while others, no way. Some of that may be caused by genetics, others by environment. I'm sure disliking country music is greatly based on environment. However, it doesn't cause me to go 'eww' and run for the hills. Also, I can look at people of the same gender and say the person is 'good looking' but I know what I'm attracted to and what I do not want either. Homosexuality, even in times where the environment loathed it and tried to bury it and kill homosexuals, has endured and it will keep doing so. It is a part of human nature to explore sex and be attracted to different things. There are some fetishes out there such as 'eaters' and 'foot fetishes', bestiality, hamsters and tubes, pedophilia, necrophilia and other things that to me are much more of a concern for people to worry about than a healthy homosexual relationship.
Psychiatry and Psychology are medical 'practices'. There are great things with the studies and then there are poor results that transpire as well. For some people, psychiatry may very well have saved their lives, or at least helped them to be better able to function in an environment that they can't really get out of due to financial situations etc. For others, giving wrongful medications, diagnoses and experimenting on them has caused suicide and even further acts of depression and feeling lost in the system. It's a double edged sword. As CtR pointed out, psychiatrists give out too much medication that is for a 'typical' problem without fully diagnosing someone properly, but the same is done by some doctors as well. Many people nowadays are immune to certain types of antibiotics because even if someone had a viral infection, the doctors would give it 'just in case'. Part of the problem with this is because our society forces people in jobs who are sick for more than 2 days to go to a doctor in the first place. The regular flu can take a week or two to clear from a person's system. Should they go to a doctor for a simple run of the mill flu or cold that lasts more than 2 days? Even if they should not bother and can do things at home, work forces them to do it. There's no choice. So doctors will try to give out medicines to people based on getting them better quick. The same can be said about some psychiatrists. They want to help get a student or adult back on track quickly with some drug to help elevate their moods or help them focus better and relax without so much anxiety or anger. Since they cannot just reach in and change their home life quality immediately, drugs are an immediate alleviation to the actual 'disease' that is going on which is causing an environment that is unfavorable and causing someone to feel horrible and lost. If a drug can be used to get that kid back to school and pass his or her classes, or a drug can make someone able to calm down in a work environment or family scenario, psychiatrists will try it first so that a person doesn't have to hit absolute rock bottom and can keep whatever favorable things in his/her life there are. Is it always right? No. Doctors should not give out antibiotics to patients that don't require them. They are useless and all it does is make a patient more tired from the antibiotics and also build up a tolerance. Psychiatrists should not just give out pills after one mere visit for 15 minutes to half an hour either with a patient. Sometimes it can work out. However, there are a fairly large number of people that suffer from this and later go through having to switch psychiatrists to get another diagnosis because the first one was based on 15 minutes of crap discussion. Also, ANY drug, especially ones that mess with hormone levels and seratonin etc, will have side effects. I do believe there are mental 'disorders' and mental health severe issues as well. I do know for a fact that some people 'do' require medication, and that others can do without it. I also know that sometimes taking drugs for a period of time and then teaching the person how to deal with the stress better can help so that later the person can quit taking the drug and change their own moods etc easier themselves. Much of what happens to most people with light disorders is that they have trouble fitting in with others and the way things are taught or the environment in which information is passed onto them. Pills do not make a nasty home life better. However, with counseling, they can help a person to make up his or her mind and decide if living in that scene is right or wrong. I have seen great results from psychiatrists and horrible results. The best results and best psychiatrists tend to be after a person has plummeted to rock bottom and takes him/herself to somewhere and begs for help. It is as if otherwise it just is not taken as serious as it should be. Those who are at the bottom get classes with groups, medicine, counseling and better therapy. This isn't to say the psychiatrists that deal with walk-in cases aren't all as good, but many seem to just have a way of slapping things together for a file and not really going as in depth as they should with each person. A few friends of mine had gone for 'help' and from the typical psychiatrist, walked in, got medicine prescriptions and 15 minute sessions every two weeks. After they finally collapsed and said they couldn't take anymore at hospitals, they were introduced to counselors that spent no less than an 'HOUR' with the patients and gave them tests, questioned them extensively, had them take pictures of their house, write about people and talk about their environments in detail. It was after this that they were taken a lot more serious. Seeing as I have had this run around BS from doctors too and know many others who have, there just seems to be a need to shop around for truly good doctors in the field of physical pain and the same applies to those who deal with mental issues. I feel the psychiatry and psychology fields are very needed, but at the same time, you do not have to settle for a mediocre money grubber either. They exist as surely as regular doctor money grubbers do. However, there are a fair amount of people that genuinely love their professions and want to help others. And here I have made another essay. =:) Very good topic to bring up.
Without cheats there is -no- way to do this. I could not see how a person could even get past Xaldin at level 4. I can't see how you can get past even Sora awakening at under level 4. However, it may just be possible to play through as Roxas and not break level 4...but really I cannot fathom how anyone who did not cheat could be level 4 even past Sora's first world he goes to.
Very funny, King Konoha! I had some serious chuckles out of that. I love the org but it is too easy apparently to make fun of all of them. =:)
I agree with CtR here. He had reasons to be upset and stuff but in the end he won out easier than some other people. He at least did have someone to go back to and be whole again. Also, I'm sorry, but others suffered more than Roxas and tried to make the best of it. Axel went through a lot for a friend that seemed quite ungrateful. Riku went through hell too and could have been a lot worse off than he was mentally after all he experienced. Riku Replica had it worse by far than Roxas and no one really feels much sympathy for him because he's a 'clone' with a 'synthetic' heart. Yet he tried. Roxas had it bad, sure, but not as bad as some others that turned out to be better people than he did in the end. He had a better ending than others.
Excellent point! BBS though does seem it is going to end in a way that will have to have some hope in the 2 kids on the beach at least to do the right thing. It does now make me wonder how KH3 will turn out when all these other games are out of the way.
Well the theory would work out if Sora and Riku (as well as Kairi even if she's not there) are 4 and 5 years old while Terra, Ven and Aqua are alive and in their teens. It could be as you said though, that 'Endless' refers to an ongoing battle though, otherwise.
I'm not exactly sure why it matters so much to people. I come here to chat and be a part of things. It's a great site and a lot of the members are cool. Premium is nice but when it comes down to it, I wouldn't care if it existed or not. The forums chats make the forums worthwhile: not the status of people.
I was thinking that if the guy who merged with Riku is the 'real' Xehanort's Heartless, that he de-aged because of being inside 'Xehanort' who took Ansem's name and also became Xemnas. I don't think time travel is involved, at least not yet and in a way I hope it doesn't evolve to that. I do think the Heartless is the 'real' Master Xehanort's heartless but that's how I add things up so far and hope it's right.
Well it is an opinion, so saying 'they suck' is how a person is entitled to feel and voice. Just as you are entitled to your opinion that they don't 'suck' so bad or are great. I think they suck, but you don't. I respect your opinion on it and all. I just don't like the FFT/FFTA, FFXII moogles at all. It would seem just as wrong to me to see chocobos show up that looked like giant turkeys or ostriches instead. I think their appearance is more than just a difference between turtles and tortoises considering a turtle will always be a turtle and a tortoise will always be a tortoise but a moogle apparently in certain games won't look like a moogle.
Yes, I agree with some...They made me hurt reading them. 1. If Jafar lived...again...yeah, I'd cry. 2. If 358/2 days was about Roxas angsting the whole time...yeah, I'd cry and toss things around. 3. If all we got was Coded and the other two better looking games remained in Japan...I don't think I'd cry. I'd throw a tantrum!!!! 4. If Hannah Montana sang the lead song instead of Utada Hikaru who retired...WAAAAAAAAAAAH! I'll sob now at that imagery.
I am unsure whether they exist or not. I kind of leave the thought open since I have no proof against or for them other than haziness of having seen some odd things before. Also, I have friends that have seen and felt things they could not explain either and others who think it's all hogwash etc. So really, I'm undecided on the whole thing and just leave it as the question I can't answer right now.
I would say Aids and Cancer are less serious than the other two because there's little you can do about cancer and if you just try your best to take care of yourself you can avoid it as best you can. If you notice lumps or weird skin formations, you go get them checked out. Go to a doctor annually..so cancer can be found out if you do the right things. Aids, just don't have unprotected sex, share syringes, exchange body fluids, and you are safe. As for malaria, that isn't genuinely a problem outside certain regions. It is serious though but so far only to where it is. The staph virus (which I take it is what you mean by 'super bug') is a serious concern since staph can stay alive even a week or so on objects if it is not taken care of and a whole area quarantined and disinfected. It's that serious so it should be dealt with carefully in each area it shows up. The super strain of this is also showing that antibiotics are near useless to it. I don't think it's something to 'panic' about but it is something people need to be cautious over as this could become a very serious problem if people are negligent. The Bird Flu is another thing that until it crosses over to humans to be passed on to humans, it's a scare we can do little about. However, this seems to be the big fear that can be turned into an epidemic or pandemic over night. It's very catchy amongst birds so we can imagine how bad it could be if humans get it and it goes spreading about. If this becomes full blown, as it may, it may be the worst of all of the others combined in the numbers of people that will be affected by it.
I fess up to rebooting the game to race Riku until I beat him. Then once I knew how I went back and did it so it showed up as I won him on the first try and yeah, I had the same thing happen. That was pretty cool. I also liked when Riku lost matches in the fighting and he just shrugs like 'oh well' and did it again when in KH2 you face him.
I must be the only person in the world who does not like blahXblah stuff. It keeps coming up lately.
I did have to do a double-take on Terra too because I too saw the very close resemblance but there are enough differences in physical features to separate them. I would also assume that mentally they won't be so alike.
The games are a bit darker than sometimes I think people realize. Disney covers a lot of it up to make it friendly but really there are some bad things to think about such as people existing without hearts and trapped in a stasis, a boy being manipulated by dark beings and falling into despair and torment and having to rise above it without losing himself entirely, whole worlds and people being devoured by creatures etc. It's not that friendly. However, though I hope that it's not a repeat of FF 7 in any way, I do think this game will end on a note that is pretty desperate so that the future people can hopefully clean the mess, even though it is apparent by what Xemnas said, the Keyblader is unusually young, so they didn't do a tremendous job in the past, but enough perhaps to hold off things for a while. I do think it will be a darker game in that thought, but I think 'hope' that the future will fix things will be something of an important note too.
