When Roxas first begins the game, you obtain him after he has been already put into the simulation world made by DiZ. Namine planted in his mind the familiar world of Twilight Town to Roxas, because many Nobodies, including him, first appear there, and the Org also frequented the area. We can see in 358/2 Days already, even without having played the game, that much of it is going to take place in the real Twilight Town. So DiZ fabricated a world of his own, Roxas is stuck in it, and many of the people from the original Twilight Town are within to make his fake memories from Namine more real. Roxas is essentially 1 year old (as Roxas any way) though he is seen and acts around the age of 15. He was formed as a Nobody after Sora plunged the Dark Keyblade through his chest in KH and turned into a Shadow. He had no memories of Sora because Sora retained his memories and was restored whole again by Kairi. So, with new memories put in him to override his year of time in the real Twilight Town and with the Organization, he believed he was a normal 15 year old kid and he had known these other 3 kids and neighborhood people for much of his life. Roxas didnt' make the world; Diz did. Hopefully that makes more sense to you. Twilight Town (the real one) was around well before Roxas as well and we'll learn more about Roxas's time in the real Twilight Town with the Org in 358/2 Days.
That's really tragic. The whole family though it seems was very politically active seeking reform and democracy. Musharraf, who is the 'President' of Pakistan but also a General of the military that took over it, was willing in the beginning to work things out with her, but at the same time it seems that radical Islamic groups that did not want democracy, including possibly people within the government and security, were willing to go the extra mile and put an end to her life. It is very rare that a woman did so much in Pakistan, considering the state of affairs of Islamic governments where women have little voice. She'd been set up twice in the past, which she was Prime Minister, of her husband stealing money to increase their wealth, but with how active she seemed to be I doubt anyone who supported her believed anything of this. Her return to Pakistan after self-imposed exile to evade these charges was rallying thousands of people together. She even evaded an attempt on her life that involved car bombings only to be shot the second time now and she's gone. It really is too bad that she could do no more and now she dies a martyr and people are very angry and rebelling due to her death. Being killed like that in public is just a shock and of course the man who shot her twice died after. Pakistan is a harsh area to live in and I hope that her death won't cause too much more violence but that political agendas can move to grant people more freedom. The Islamic radical groups there and in many areas of the ME continue to use this method of sending their messages to others that they will not stand for change and change is corrupt. The irony of course is that they corrupt the minds of people they figure are disposable and send them out on these one way missions, rewarding their families with money for their devotion. Things are that bad in the ME that people are tempted into this and I do hope more people like Benazir Bhutto will rise up to try to work with the people who want a better life so that others are not so easily encouraged to give their lives up for murder and an unjust cause.
I would think that they would have the first fight with Riku and Roxas but I don't see it coming out as well in Roxas's favor considering the second fight where Riku actually knocks Roxas unconscious BEFORE he changes to Ansem and puts Oblivion by his head. Roxas never knocks out Riku. He just apparently hurt him and Riku left to think of a new strategy because he didn't want to harm Roxas to apprehend him. He just wanted to take him there out cold if he had to. If they did end it though with the two fights I think I would not mind losing since I know already what happens in KH2 and all. It's not like it would be some great big surprise. Riku kicks butt. Sora couldn't even take him alone when he was at Hollow Bastion the first time. He had his two friends help. Also, it was to me kind of apparent Riku gets knocked down and probably flees the battle the first time. Otherwise, with how Roxas is so angry when he fights, Riku might have been a lot more screwed up than just having a wrist brace.
I believe that Roxas had no memories because Sora was only a Heartless for such a short period of time that even though he felt his memories slipping from him, Kairi restored him and all was dandy. Roxas to me seems to be a -part- of Ven. I am sure we will learn more in BBS about him. I do not think he is a complete Ven considering...how would all of him merge with Sora? However, I do think when Roxas was formed he did have a part of his Heart and well, he obviously had no body, so he fit into the motif enough to be a Nobody. Another point to mention is that he couldn't wield a Keyblade without a Heart. He had to have -something- there to do so. I do not feel he had the whole Heart, but I do think there was something there and it may be even because Sora had the Keyblade, that Roxas ended up with it as well and maintained some thread to Sora's Heart or Ven's which came from within Sora. Also, the two Keyblades he gets shows he has ties to Riku and Kairi which are Sora's friends and thus Roxas's as well. The Keyblade really may have been instrumental in allowing Roxas to have any vestige of a Heart at all. Another thing to notice about Roxas is that he seemed to express emotions which were not overreactions like the other Nobodies, to include Axel, which well, looked fake and overdone. Roxas's emotions were genuine, even if they were mostly pertaining to being depressed or angry and rebellious. He also showed some genuine feeling there. I really don't see that the Nobodies gained anything and others did have memories. Axel is the only one who seemed to be drawn 'empathically' to others and to use his ability of feeling other people's emotions to not seek to harm them. I think he felt in Roxas emotions and it reminded him of when he had them and even though his Heart was weak or fragmented, it was enough for Axel to pick up on. Axel even cried a tear which was enough to show he could feel that empathy from Roxas and remember how it felt to be sad and so it fell. I don't think Axel was 'getting a Heart' necessarily, but he did what other Org members should have tried to emulate and it might have saved some of them. He found a way to at least have a 'pseudo' heart by being friends with someone who had one at all. So that's my take on it really. I don't see the emotions being triggered by memories in Roxas as much as I think he always had a portion of his Heart there and ties to the bonds that Sora had with Riku and Kairi too. He was still linked with Sora whether or not he wanted and in fact he set out to find out more about the Keyblade and why he had it. He knew something was tremendously amiss. The other Nobodies did have their memories of their past lives at least in part so the theory you have kind of gets shot down on that fact.
Chocobos and Cactuars definitely!!! I don't know why other than they are staple in most FF games and so it'd be cool to see them in KH as well somewhere.
I think Riku liked Kairi but at the same time, he realized Sora really had a thing for her. He was more upset at losing the right to name the raft and even tossed in if you lost or won that he was not serious about the Paopu Fruit. Also, he did try to encourage Sora to go give Kairi a paopu fruit in the first place. He knew there was a rivalry that was friendly but competitive against him and Sora for Kairi's affections and Kairi didn't seem to care really. She may even have encouraged it sometimes by judging their races and all. It was harmless but I think Riku took notice Sora would get upset at certain times when Riku was saying things and Kairi was listening more, such as at the tree when all three spoke and Riku said his dream of leaving the islands to find out why they were there and what was out beyond. Sora sighs and all. So really, I do think Riku was attracted to her somewhat and liked her, but because he saw that this could come between his friendship with Sora too, he was not willing to accept it and decided to try to motivate Sora to go out with her because Sora wasn't doing anything and it would mean that things would be okay between them all. Riku's greatest weakness used against him by the villains after all, was his need to have his friends. His friends meant a lot to him and he was afraid to lose them. It makes sense to me he would do this for Sora and Kairi to maintain that friendship and not have something bad happen. He was willing to drop out of the competition, which later is possibly why he said when under Darkness's influence that they always were rivals. His emotions were all torn and confused. As for being gay, I highly doubt Riku is gay. If he was gay for Sora he would not have shoved him away when Sora was grabbing his face to check if he was real. I don't see any point at all where he shows any signs of liking males, but can tell he liked Kairi to at least some degree. Sora also is not gay. He goes out of his way to help girls like they would die without him. Of course, this is all perception and we never know but I just don't see it at all with their demeanors. I can say I wasn't crazy about Roxas. I didn't hate him, but well...he was just annoying sometimes with the emo trip. I do hope to learn more about him but no, I would never want him to replace Sora. I am hoping next time though we see Sora, Riku and Kairi, they would all be more mature and we see even more depth to them. It's interesting watching them all grow up. Also, whoever said that Riku acted 11...are you kidding me? He was the most mature out of the three and even acted more mature than a lot of the other characters in the game. In KH1, he was used and taken advantage of for flaws that normally would not be that big of a deal, but proved very bad. Sora could have also been taken advantage of if the roles were reversed and he was the intended Keyblade wielder all along. Both Riku and Sora had some dark in their hearts or Sora could not have been changed to a Heartless too. They were both normal kids with a lot of good in them but they also had jealousy, anger and such. Normally it would never consume them. I though really cannot see in CoM or KH2 where Riku was at all childish, let alone the points in KH1 where he was not being manipulated by the dark forces. He acted just like a teenage boy his age to me, and actually in some ways was pretty mature for his age.
Namine is a person that kind of I don't know if she'd get with Roxas or not. She really seemed to dig Sora a lot in CoM. She even was very upset he chose to have the memories of his friends and life before than the one with her and Castle Oblivion, though she did comply with the wish of course, understanding. She cared for Sora a lot. So had she remained and all, she might have tried to get with him, which would have been an interesting love triangle with Sora, Kairi and Namine heh. I think she cared about Roxas too, but it seemed more friendship to me. Of course, that doesn't mean it could not have changed. It seemed clear though that she had a lot of feelings in CoM for Sora and well, didn't really give much of a crap about Riku or Riku Replica. She didn't even apologize to Riku Replica for messing him up but made sure to do so to Sora. She also didn't apologize to Riku at all that I recall, even though she helped him with Zexion at one point. Namine was sort of complex in a way. However, on the same note, I also don't see that Axel and Roxas cared for each other but as good friends. If Namine and Roxas had hung out, I'd say there was a pretty good chance they might have gotten together and well, I guess if Sora and Kairi do, they do too. I just think her feelings though were more strong for Sora actually than Roxas when it comes down to it. After all, she totally even lured Sora there to the Castle Oblivion so she wouldn't be alone and Marluxia found out and used her to finish the job.
Axel was -surviving- with both Vexen and Marluxia doing things that they should not have been. He was just as much out for his own self-preservation as he was to being 'loyal' to the Org. Axel was a wild card and everyone should know that. As for Sora's action there, he was -frustrated- and wanted to confront the Org and get the games over with. Who can blame him after all he went through with the Dark Council and Ansem? He did not want to play around and just let the Org, who were KILLING people do whatever and got mad and distracted. If he was so hell bent on this path, he'd have told Goofy and Donald to stuff it and continued to call them out. Also, there was a logic in backing off that yeah he was frustrated, but against all the Org members there, he was out numbered. Who would not want to just stop the chase, the game, the plot that the villains are putting against you and get rid of the foes before something else happens? Of course he wants his friends back and once Goofy says so with ONE line, Sora is there. He had a moment of loss of control. I want to know anyone who would not. The Org were the wrong ones in there. If they wanted Sora's 'help' to do something other than using him to kill Heartless they helped spread and all, they surely could have asked him and he would have done so. You also keep forgetting that Roxas obviously wanted nothing more to do with the Org either. How much proof do you need to see that the Org aren't these neutral guys going around and all? You know, people without emotions commit heinous crimes in tandem and we call them Serial Killers. Think about it. They had no remorse for any action they did, all except Axel and Roxas. That says something. Technically all of the Org members were psychopathic. This does not mean they could not survive as other 'psychopaths' do that don't turn into Serial Killers but the point here is that they were NOT. Sora wasn't going out of his way to have Nobody bias. He was trying to stop them and at the same time find his friends. Your points of saying they ever asked him for help etc have all been refuted. There really is nothing redeeming the Org members and saying they would do anything else other than what they were. They had planned this scheme for years and were doing it whether Roxas or Sora was going to be used to accomplish it by ensuring the Hearts would get to the fake Kingdom Hearts looming in TWTNW. If this plan had not been worked on for some time, it wouldn't have been there and been so near complete. I'm sure in 358/2 Days we are going to learn why Roxas didn't want to remain there more. The point here is that the Org could have taken a different route at any time and Sora, who talks to the villains to try to change them regularly, would have been malleable. The Org however was not changing. It would not. They were stuck on their path and that was that. There is never a time when Saix, Xaldin, or Xemnas even show at all they would care to change. Demyx, perhaps. Xigbar...debatable. Luxord ...I don't have a clue, but the three at least that seemed the worst also had the strongest impacts. Not one though -ever- told Sora they wanted to change and not do what they were, or Riku for that matter, other than Axel.
Sora and Roxas, as others said, were still being merged and it was not a complete thing until at the end of KH2 where you see them rejoin again. Then Roxas's spirit is more at peace. During the fight with Roxas and Sora, Sora does go out cold and the fight is mental. However, Roxas did bring Samurai Nobodies, which were linked to him, which if you notice, held back Donald and Goofy from doing anything to Sora. It is after that, Roxas loses and thus the Nobodies are gone and Donald and Goofy can get to Sora. So yeah, it was all done within Sora's mind.
Setzer looks different than his FF6 alter ego. They should have made his hair more straight and all like there. Of course, he didn't also act much like Setzer either. He does though in KH resemble Xemnas for some reason.
Quite true. A lot of Christians depend on others to preach to them the stuff and don't read the Bible themselves but for verses pointed out to them to take to heart. The Bible is chocked full of a bunch of things that don't get uttered in both the New and Old Testaments. I read the thing through page to page as a teen and had nightmares from the thing. I really don't get how some people are saying it's not tremendously violent, let alone it condones war, claiming women as property, endorses slavery etc. It's not a nice book. People can say they excuse the stuff that's not important and go for the 'messages' implied elsewhere, but truly many crimes including serial killings have been done over the Bible and taking verses how they wanted. I do agree that people have serious choices to make, but as I said before, if the Bible came out now and was introduced to the masses, it would be a banned book and video games might get a reprieve. Ironically, the only ones pushing to have video games banished are fundamentalists. It makes me seriously wonder how many people actually have read the book page to page and not depended on someone to do the work for them.
Yes, the being that was calling himself 'God' was really the 1st Angel and he died turning to dust because of old age and being freed by the girl. Really, if it was identified as such, I don't get what the stink is about the books because it lets you decide in the end if there is a God or not and doesn't go that far. I really think it would help if Christians read the books before actually commenting and complaining. The point was the 'God' of violence worshipped by the Magisterium and all was a fraud and died. It doesn't declare there's nothing above it or whatever. Then again, this is the point of the debate really in why I outlined the sort of thing I did with the 4 types of people when it came to religion. Those who won't even chance it are in group #2 and it doesn't matter what we say because they will never listen to reason.
Hmm, I didn't really find anything about Bush saying to shut off the lights in Jerusalem. Bush and the current Prime Minister of Israel seem to get along well and there was sort of a day of Pomp and Circumstance where kids sang songs and all. If that night it was done to shut off the city lights, it was a friendship thing it would seem and not just a 'demand' issue. PM Olmert and Bush are friends and Bush is there to try to help make a Palestinian state as well as secure the Israel one so they can live side by side. In the end, it will probably fail but these sorts of talks are important and perhaps it can lead to in the future something positive transpiring. Bush has always been pretty pro-Israel, though the former PM Sharon was really not a good guy to work with towards any methods of peace. Sharon had too much blood on his hands and was not one to care at all for the Palestinians. Maybe though things can improve sometime. I don't think I see it happening in Bush's era of presidency but any headway at all is something. I just hope it doesn't set things further back.
You really did just squash the dreams of a ton of fangirls now. Good going =:) But yeah, I do agree that King Triton has a strong chance of appearing in BBS since he seemed to know quite a bit about the Keyblades and something bad must have happened in Atlantica because of it.
Samurai Jack was cool. Hopefully they will grab up some other newer things and start moving on again. I don't really watch CN much though except for Adult Swim anymore. I guess I've lost touch with it. Instead of George of the Jungle they should get rights to Freakazoid or Animaniacs, since they aren't used anymore. That would be more amusing to me.
The Keyblade is not ascertained yet to be a true Keyblade or a pseudo one like the Dark Keyblade was as of yet. It may have been a temporary thing or a real one Riku somehow dredged up from somewhere. However, I would imagine in either case, if Kairi actually wants to wander around with Sora and Riku, she's going to have to stop being so girly and actually put a solid effort into being stronger physically and learn off of both of them more. I think she has the potential for it. Also, I hope they teach her to stop prancing. That is -not- running!
I'd say Riku as he matured the most, learned a valuable lesson and didn't just let it destroy him. He went out of his way to help his friends even if they would not accept him back, and he also physically grew the most. He had a major growth spurt and was around 4 or 5" taller. The other characters didn't really have to go through what he did, and he accepted that some of that was by his own decisions.
Good job, Cupcake. Just watch your back in a way because sometimes these sorts of people will try some retaliation. However, you stood up and he sees you aren't going to take that kind of treatment. Maybe you will even help him wake up so that he stops this ridiculous behavior to others too.
Another wacko decides to mutilate himself and has permanently removed his hand. He probably will refuse it back because it has the sign of the Devil and can now collect disability by his own doing. We after all have to cover for it. I don't think it's mental illness. It's delusional religion. When religion goes bad, these are the types of people that really just need locked away so that they don't harm anyone. Also, I'm not sure how you can say to not blame the Bible at all. Really, with all the violence in the Bible and how people take that literally, I'd think they'd hit on the book faster than any video game if it wasn't for the fact it was accepted as mainstream before people started caring about children and violence. It's meant to be a book to guide people but the messages can be taken in any way by anyone, to include literal as it is spelled out plain as day. However, on a point I do agree with you. After all, the man had to interpret the book passages like this while obviously not all people are going about lopping off their hands or scalping themselves. Most people therefore get that it is probably just a metaphorical example.
I just saw that video and was going to post the link here but seems I was beaten to the punch. I like the SC games though I do get confused why they bring in outside sources at times and it does have a storyline that could go deeper than it is. However, it is fun to do the combat and I will probably get this, even if I'm not sure how Yoda and Vader are going to fit into the scheme of this. It will just be fun to kick butt with Yoda.
