Well, I think they are going about it the right way really. There is nothing to prove he's guilty or innocent at this point and it is all just hear say. The girl could have set him up because she doesn't like him. He could have also said a stupid comment to her and been way out of line. This should be verified before the teacher loses his job. I have seen students set up teachers like this and I've also heard of cases where teachers say these things to one person present to dispute it. It's a rough call and so authorities do need to be careful about it. If he was innocent this could ruin his whole career and that would suck as bad as if he said it and nothing would be done. So I await the verdict.
It was 6 girls that did the beating. No boys did. You guys keep saying it was the boys. the only thing 2 boys did was be look outs. The 6 lame girls beat on her.
So what if I type a lot? I know that sometimes people get sick of my long posts but others don't seem to mind. If they do, oh well. I respect their right to not have to read it but if it is addressed about something they said in bias, they should or it only proves the point they are prejudiced. Also, you have taken your opinion more seriously than any Atheist has. We have not called Christians stupid or ignorant. You came in here with a bias and you really please need to stop your hatreds. It's really not right that you judge us in any fashion. People are people and beliefs are a PART of a person, not the whole deal. There are many aspects and layers to people and personal religious, or lack of personal religious beliefs really does not sum up a person in total. I am sure that despite having differences in personal religion from an Atheist, there are other things you could find that is common ground. Seeing as this is the point, that we all usually have areas we can see alike, you should try to keep to that and we continue to try despite the fact that you called us ignorant and stupid. You are also the one who said that we were calling you a religious kid n00b or whatever. We have not been so insulting. Do you like Kingdom Hearts? Well, we Atheists do too. Do you like other video games? We do too. Do you like to hang out with friends? We do too and we don't just say we won't hang out with someone because they are of a different belief than we are unless the -person- is attacking us for our beliefs. In the end, you can say what you want and have your opinion about whether Atheists will or won't convert to a religion ever and why does this matter so very much to you? Why does what roams in someone else's head that is harmless to others bother you so much? It's like why do gays bother straight people so much? What people believe in or do with their sexuality as long as it hurts no one else is that person's right. Respect that right and you will find there is a whole world of new people out there you might have similarities to and get along with despite their religious views. If religion is all that makes a person a person to you, that prejudice is entirely on your end and that is dangerous. Think about it. Open your mind. You don't have to convert anyone and no one is out to convert you. There's more to life than just religion.
The Persians followed various religions actually. They are from the Iranian region and followed a mix of Judaism, Islam and even some odd variant of Buddhism. Later, there were some Christian influence in as well but not in the times of the Greek wars etc. I'd write more but am short on time.
There's no problem with it. I think the person asked because it is an interesting thing to note. All of the FF games have things of religions in them. Just look at the Summons from each game or some of the character's names like Kuja, who is from Hinduism. Quezlcoatl is from the Aztec Quetzlcoatl, Shiva from Hinduism, etc. I find it interesting usually on how Nomura and others mix up the aspects of various religious intonations or characters mimic or share similar names to religious icons. It's pretty cool to me. It's just one of those things to notice.
I have to say I prefer old Disney. I was glad to see 'Enchanted' touched back on some of the old ways and was a great movie. It's the best movie I've seen since the Lion King. The newer stuff is okay and I have varied opinions depending on which film it is. Animated movies like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, Peter Pan etc just seemed more intriguing to me for some reason and even had a darkness to them that isn't seen anymore. That's not to say after Enchanted though and a few expectations of new movies along the way that Disney doesn't seem to be going back to its roots, which I really hope it does.
No, she did not deserve to get beaten on but did merit some kind of action to her stupidity. That is the point I am raising. She went to Myspace that tons of people view and posted nonsense about others and even after the incident went back to say 'haha, they are all in jail now' or something to the effect. It's like she staged the whole thing. She seems rather narcissistic to me. So, no, I don't condone the beat down she received but at the same time, perhaps they should have shown the parents or something and she should not be doing what she is either.
It does have some things to do with Christianity but more to do with Judaism or Kabbalah in particular. Sephiroth actually means the Orbs on the Tree of Life. The orbs are similar in concept to a yin and yang sort of thing but progressing and possessing knowledge of the orbs draws you closer to God in Kabbalah, for the very short abbreviated version of what it means. Aerith's death could be related to the death of Jesus if one thinks about it as well. She knew likely in the end she would have to sacrifice herself for Holy to work, just as Sephiroth had to die for it to kick off and end Meteor. The catastrophe also of what happened with Shin-ra and all doing corrupted things to the planet and the sort of Apocalyptic Judgment Day could also relate to the end details in the Bible. So yes, there were strong undertones in FF VII of Judaism, Kabbalah and Christianity definitely.
Numbers and writing words etc were concepts created by humans on earth. They clearly are meant as ways of expression and measuring things that we can visually sense or feel. These are not things that one day just popped up. People worked over eons to make numbers mean things as well as words and both continue to evolve just as we do. When people add numbers to religious connotations they choose to do so. Of course maths and language developed more with directions we took in astrology, sciences, history, measurements of time and religions. However, it's rather clear that humans developed math and numbers ourselves just as we did words and the many languages we possess. Darkwatch (Deathwatch for the old joke) is correct. Why does being a believer or not mean a thing here? You don't have to -leave- but do try to stick to the topic at hand and could you please stop trying to convert us? There are Christians here as well. Not all of us are evil atheists. We just all choose to treat each other respect and acknowledge our beliefs. Please try to learn tolerance. It is becoming more difficult to maintain a level of that anymore with what you keep saying.
That sucks to see you go, K a i r i. Hope you decide to change your mind. If some people are bugging you, just remember the rest of us who hopefully aren't. Take care whatever you decide.
Hmm, I suppose to me that the answer is 'it depends on WHERE' they are text talking. If it's over a phone where text costs money, sure, it's appropriate. If it's for cute little sayings and such, sure, I don't consider that dumb either. Now, when it becomes annoying and I start doubting intelligence is when I see from someone all the time text talk. I.e. I don't want to read endless text talk from someone when I am trying to talk with them seriously over something on a chat channel or forums. It shows an ignorance and I can't help that it really does come across that the person is dumb. It's not right, but if that is -all- I see from the person in serious topics, it just kills it for me. Another place it doesn't belong which kids try to get away with is in school. Sure, on book covers and stuff, why not? But it does not belong on -homework-. There are people that actually try to do this and it just is ridiculous. It implies to anyone that they did not try to do this assignment seriously and took it as a lethargic joke. Perhaps I'm **** over such things because I was raised that if I put my name on some project I did I should have pride in that work. I'd rather not do the assignment at all than put text type on an assignment. So, really in the end, I'm not against people using text talk itself, but I think people need to learn where it is appropriate. It's kind of like saying profane words. There is a time and a place for text talk, just as there's a time and place for crass language. There are also times you don't do these certain behaviors and it's just in the wrong audience. I sometimes type out text talk on phones or do cute expressions with it amongst friends but when I'm being serious or cordial to others it just does not belong. Hope this makes sense because in the right environment it works. In the wrong area it really does make people seem dumb, self-absorbed and witless.
The sandbox was only a 'foot deep' by the news report. How the heck did the kid die in a foot deep of sand? Ah well, it's one of those tragic things that sometimes happens and nothing can be done about. Very sad. Though that guy says 'Naruto' funny and the use of a Youtube video of kids playing with Naruto figures was just lame.
Well apparently the boys didn't hit her. It was 6 girls that beat on her after she made comments on Myspace and was acting haughty. I do think the beatdown was excessive and over the top but I do think also that sometimes people really do think they can just say whatever and there will never be repercussions. She was clearly doing passive aggressive attacks at them and they obviously decided to do a pack mentality discipline of aggression on her. Both were stupid. I can see the people getting mad at her for her attitude but injuring the girl so bad to put her in the hospital was more wrong. I hope that these people all learn something out of this and can move on. I do disagree with putting the girl n the hospital but at the same time don't think they should punished terribly for it because she did insight the violence by attacking some of them. In cases like this it's hard to decide what to do. They do earn some punishment for it because they really need to understand that mentality of beating up someone like that is wrong.
It is a crummy thing to do but ah well. One can just hope the kid doesn't grow up to be what the kid is stuck with wearing now. =:/
Yeah, I could say Xigbar might be one of the ones I'd want to save too since he did seem to know things and wasn't as cold and calculating despite being #2. He has some mystery about him and if anyone might know what is going on it's probably him, at least who would be most approachable out of the last remaining Org members. I can agree with that and he was pretty awesome.
Really I don't mind either way but if it is something that is going to be where people are capping at soon enough because 10000 rep or whatever is the limit, it could always be changed at the time this comes into question. Is anyone actually in danger of hitting this now? If not, it doesn't really matter right now. If so, I'm sure the admins can change it to 20k or something.
I'd ask him if me or ICSP is right on our assessments of the Organization.
If it's just for preference, I'd say I like Spiderman a lot more than Superman. Spiderman is more down to earth literally and always could kind of be understood by anyone who was down on his/her luck and you could imagine what you'd do in similar situations. Superman was always larger than life and I've never understood why he's so popular other than for the fact he can seemingly do nearly anything.
I'd hope I'd get to go to Traverse Town because otherwise I'm boned. At least then I can properly coin the phrase from Space Balls but replace the words Space Balls with Heartless. "Heartless? Here? There goes the planet."
I'd be Riku since that is what my personality tests pertaining to 'which KH character would you be' always turn up. Also, Riku is pretty cool and not 'emo' like people keep saying. He really gets a bad rap sometimes for making a mistake that he worked his butt off to fix. Otherwise, I'd choose to be Riku Replica and somehow not die because that bummed that he couldn't live on. The final person I would be is Axel, though dying sucks. He had an amusing attitude at times and was someone to not mess with or underestimate as so many people did. I don't think though I could be as heartless as he was though and off people in the Org like Zexion though I comprehend why he felt he had to at that point.
