"Incorrect. Even without emotions they have reasoning and memes. Are you familiar with the term 'memes'? If not then I suggest you look it up. I will give a short explanation here. Memes are instinctive reactions and behavioral patterns in short. Due to the fact that Nobodies possess their memories but lack their Hearts, they over exaggerate or under exaggerate things they -KNOW- they would feel if they had a Heart. If they did not have this nature, they would not be so animated at all. The point still stands." "Namine is a special Nobody that is formed from a Princess of Heart. She had very little memories of Kairi due to the fact she was displaced from Kairi's body/Sora's for only moments after the Dark Keyblade was used. Namine was considered even more of a shadow than other Nobodies, but I would believe she as the others had a SOUL. The soul is your conscience, is it not? Larxene pushed on her to do things against her conscience and thus she did them but later fought against it and went against it ultimately and despite her diminutive size and lack of a weapon stood in front of both Marluxia and Larxene to prevent MORE wrong doings. So no, those points definitely stand, good sir." "Now the point here that you fail to realize by this is you attempt to cancel yourself out. In the end we are here to see if Larxene herself HAS a conscience of her OWN or if she utterly ignores her soul and just reacts off a bunch of memes of sadism to do tormenting to others and doesn't even realize what she is doing. Do you get that? Because without this knowledge of her not even being at all connected to a soul she possesses she is a danger to society in any manner. The display of her personality as others would see her is a perception of that and to also make HER see what she looks like to others. If there is no reaction at all, what do you expect us to do with her?" "I just showed you the whole deal with Riku Replica and his whole protest to the thing and all. You are actually going to doubt it??? Are you BLIND? She is the one who dragged him off after that display there and had Namine do it. That is Coercion. Do stop trying to twist things already." "Lastly, I bring up all three kids. Sora, Namine and Repliku are ALL matters to be witnesses and were victims of Larxene in particular. Stop discounting any of the three. Technically we could toss in Donald and Goofy as well because their memories were affected too. Stop trying to divert the court from paying attention to all of those inflicted by each member of the Organization. You cannot discount anyone until they have taken the stand and you have heard their testimony and the judge tosses it out if he so wills. All are equals." "Erroneous. The charges as stated all can stand and if your client shows no caring at all about them then I want her called off the stand to be forced to come back after interviewing the witnesses to see her response then because in all fairness I do not think the Defendant even knows what she's done and Xelax has a very skewed version of events which if he wants to prove them, he can't do so with his Defendant at all." Harvey turns and looks at the Judge awaiting the verdict.
"Actually I am not done yet. If you would hold for a moment, I will lead this in the direction it is going." OOC: Implying I had a nice thing written up, closed out firefox by mistake when I went out to go to Taco Hell, came back and mourned softly. =:/ *snickers* I'll go ahead and edit this once I am done posting it all again to continue and finish it up. OOC: Okay, I apologize for the lateness of this and all. I keep getting called out to help people. It may need amending later but here we go to post it up and let the RP at least continue on. Thanks for the patience guys. "By the records of the account itself, Namine was caught by Marluxia trying to lure Sora towards the Castle Oblivion but he in fact had not ended up there. Marluxia caught her and did take advantage of the situation of a lonely girl to capitalize on it. Her intentions clearly were to bring Sora there to give her some company and possibly to leave there. Is this not true? If not, please say where it declares anywhere that Namine herself intended to mess with Sora's mind or use him to take over the Organization herself." "At the same time, it was Marluxia who intervened and met Sora at the crossroads saying "Ahead lies something you hold dear — but to claim it, you must lose something first." The Nobodies then veer off in the direction of the Castle Oblivion, which Sora then follows. It is evident that Namine was leading him by a connection subliminally, but it is Marluxia himself who had others go with him and pointed out the absolute direction of the Castle Oblivion. This is to clarify this point once and for all that yes, Namine did lure him there in one sense, but at any time it is evident that since Marluxia caught her, he could have stopped her but instead used it to benefit himself. I will present more evidence on this matter when Marluxia is brought to stand." Now to go into something else. The demeanor that presents itself to all 3 of the children she had to work with or against and why this can be considered mental abuse to say the least. Larxene, your teasing was not such a welcome thing. Can anyone call this a 'serious' thing and not a poking at the girl who is doing exactly what Marluxia and Larxene want her to all because she made a mistake luring the boy that way?" "Now does Namine look 'happy' at all there? She looks in fact like this is horribly bitter sweet and not what she wanted at all. Also, 'try to not do anything to hurt Sora's feelings' does not mean what it implies here, as if there is any sincerity at all to Sora's feelings, does it? I would like to hear from you, Larxene, indeed what it does mean. To me, it could imply instead for her to not go and mess up and reveal the plan to him or steer from the plan, keeping Namine as the focus and keeping the ruse up. If it means something else, please elaborate?" Now, I want to touch upon another issue that seems prevalent in that perhaps Larxene takes it one way what she does while others take it another. This does not exonerate her of the crimes just because she does not know how she affects others and in some cases can make it worse if she does not show a conscience about it. Larxene had a way with words that seemed enough to even make other Organization members grow tired of it or feel chided by her or worry that she was too homicidal. This 'teasing' even had warnings from other Organization members. Such as..." The child abuse, theft of the Paopu Fruit Charm and Aggravated Assault should stick by this directly. Also, here is more to show her demeanor versus how she feels things happened and how 14 year olds in mentality would take what she had said and acted out." *replays scene* "You will notice here that Larxene is lying to Sora, chiding him that he has forgotten Namine when the charm was clearly from Kairi. She is coercing him to drive on for a girl he has never met, forcing his memories to continue the plan of coercing Sora. She also lashes out at Sora after teasing him and announcing she is the bad guy. She strikes him so hard and quick with her kick he is sent sailing to the floor several feet behind him. Namine again, is not the only child abused in this, and also Assault is a charge for anyone of any age. Larxene clearly demonstrated violence, coercion here and intimidation." "The other point here is that apparently the other Organization members knew her to be a sadist and that it is very much in her nature to torment others or even go beyond that to kill." He turns and looks at Larxene. "Do you realize now perhaps how bad your words and actions cut into others and make them distrust you, find you to be a bully and intimidating or down right frustrating? Can you turn this around at all because if even people without emotional reactions that work off memes can distrust you, how can anyone with a Heart that can be hurt?" "Now for Repliku. The charges of Aggravated Assault, Abuse, Ultimate Coercion as you had his mind wiped despite major protest and you also acts against a sentient being, violating sentient/human rights." This shows from the beginning, the attitude that the Defendant had about a being as sentient as she is. Let's go on further."
Harvey gave a nod to the judge. He then looked at Pika. "Don't go too far. You will be up soon." He then gazed at Larxene and made his way before the table to ask the questions he had prepared. He hoped that the way he phrased these things would get out what he was particularly looking for but he'd see. Harvey spoke to address the testimony. * It began when we found out that Naminé had summoned Sora into the steps of Castle Oblivion where Marluxia hatched up a plan that I got involved in that he shared with me. "Didn't Namine only have a link to Sora and brought him towards the crossroads? It was Marluxia that went out and lured Sora the rest of the way to the Castle because he caught her. So is it possible this plan was looming around for longer than you thought?" "Also, a coup usually isn't thought up in a few minutes, Larxene; at least not one so 'detailed' as Marluxia and you invented just by Sora showing up. Did you plan on taking over the Organization prior to that point, or actually more like letting Marluxia lead the Organization prior? * The plan was to take over the Organization with the Keyblade wielder as the main component. * It was obvious that the two of us won't be able to fully take Xemnas on, he was too powerful. "Why did you want to take over the Organization and if there were problems, why not just leave instead of this coup? Also, why follow Marluxia? What made you less of a leader than he was?" * In the end, Naminé was to replace his memories with new ones once we found out how Sora discovered Castle Oblivion, and what the girl was capable of. "Again, Namine was caught in luring him to the castle but apparently she did not bring him there. Why do you account it this way? Is it what you were told by Marluxia or is this just an assumption? She brought him to the crossroads. It is Marluxia who brought him to the Castle Oblivion." * Fragile thing she was...or is. There were times she wasn't under surveillance; her face was always on the damn sketch pad. * She was never to be killed or harmed, because we needed her for her connection with Sora, to us, and the studies of memories that were in action. "Did you tell -Namine- that she was never to be killed or harmed? Instead it seems by your next statement you teased her instead. Also, she seemed very cowed and submissive to suggest she'd been 'disciplined'. Wouldn't a major reason to not harm her be that Xemnas placed her there in the first place under the care of Marluxia and if Marluxia's scheme was not to work or if he tried to back out and not do this scheme, wouldn't Namine's demise be a bad thing in the eyes of Xemnas? Also, others of the Organization knew of the girl so wouldn't they have picked up on your scheme earlier if he was beating Namine or mistreating her with more than threats said alone to her?" "And lastly, someone or some people made that girl believe she was hopeless and reach out for the one thing she could grasp on to get her out of her mess. I want you to think about that as we go on." * I taunted her on wanting Sora's company, to meet him, to save her, yet everything went underway soon nonetheless. "What did you taunt her with? Also, you use the words -to save her-. So this shows that she did indeed think herself a prisoner and that you recognized she did think herself that way. Do you feel you rubbed salt in wounds and of course procedures would go on if she is a timid weak thing as you accused her of? Also, it is apparent you took action prior to when you said because you were ordering Namine on what to do with Sora ahead of your fights with the boy. You were coercing and taunting her by your own statement. I will point that out to you now and we will explore it more in a bit." * I wasn't given much orders from Marluxia, except to watch Sora's progress on the crystal ball with the a**hol-I mean, Axel. I mostly acted on my own volition." * The only time I ever took action was when it was my turn to toy around with Sora a little, I found him to be amusing really, all over this girl and so passionate about it, hilarious, in my opinion. * Yet, I didn't have much to do there, kicked him, had a battle, the time when the lucky charm was switched, teased him a bit for it. "So in other words, you played with Sora and Namine. You had thought the whole thing amusing to toy with them. This suggests a strong sadistic nature and also a lack of control, feeding off the suffering of others that you helped cause. Is there anything more to you than someone who plays with other people's emotions and reacts in 'emotional' ways when you get played back or things don't go your way? I'll note that while here you attempted to play up to the audience for reactions as well." * I mostly spent my time talking to Axel, Vexen, and then came Repliku, who was really just a plain doll, empty, governed by the thoughts and memories Naminé placed on him, and who broke and trampled on his 'heart' later on. * That, and it was one of Vexen's creation. Doomed for some failure somehow. "Again to express this sadistic nature, when Repliku protested against his memory being robbed which was not even part of Vexen's plans, but yours and Marluxia's, how could you miss the emotional reaction? He literally cried out in protest and it would make anyone with a Heart consider their actions twice. Did you assume this is something Vexen just programmed in and it was fun to watch him squirm as well? You also attacked him after tormenting him and he tried to stop this plan. "I am surprised you could consider him just a doll and yet you are a Nobody that is missing part of yourself. Consider how hypocritical that seems when we should judge each person for their actions and deeds, and not just 'what they are'. I will elaborate on this in a moment to ask you more but I do request an answer for the question above." * Later on we included Axel in our plan, but it was our greatest mistake. "I believe it was you who told Axel of the plan, not Marluxia, because you were talking casually and it slipped out. You are not really taking 'blame' for anything of this on your own accounts of what you had clearly done on your own. This shows a lack of control on your part and I am curious if you would explain why you did this act and tell Axel in the first place? Did you assume he was already in the plan?" * I still remembered the anger I felt when I decided to visit and see how Naminé was doing, only to not find her or Axel there. * Nothing was of importance after that, the plan was obviously screwed, to the point where it didn't matter that I reveal the scheme and what Naminé was doing all along to Sora in his stay, which was our second meeting and our last. "You felt anger and are a Nobody. So this would mean you harbored some possible anger as such in your past life, correct? You expressed also to Sora your very 'skewed' reality of what happened but managed to leave out that you were the one along with Marluxia that coerced Namine to do these things." "Namine was not considered an Org member, correct? Her name is not amalgamated as all of you in the Organization are ordered to do. So her status was not on par and she could not make decisions but to go along with the ruler of the castle. Why do you deny that?" Meanwhile, Namine confessed her own actions. So really, why not just admit to the court that you were trying to hurt Sora more, lash out at him and make him hate Namine or be confused to take advantage of it? There was no other need to tell this situation in such a manner as to make yourself seem innocent while she took the fall for you, is there? It would seem a sound strategy of someone of a bullying nature that you wanted to clearly divide them up and torment them both. If it is otherwise, please do say what reason you had for it because it is not making sense." * I was truthfully in a bad mood, everything was ruined, and we were so close..." * I get more violent when I'm pissed off and I lashed out on Sora, kicked him again as he went and dared to come at me when I was obviously spilling out the truth that he couldn't apparently take, and for the first time, landed a physical hit on Naminé. * Honestly, I wasn't intending to die....though I guessed that fate wouldn't have it otherwise if I did ever manage to escape. "You threw Repliku aside explaining he was just a doll and Namine had toyed with him as she had with Sora. You had kicked Sora earlier, announcing you were a 'bad guy'. You then were stood in front of by Namine with her arms outspread with no weapon and attacked her, slapping her. Afterwards, you and Sora fought. Now, let's reverse things. With this vaunted 'temper' you claim you have, over being 'betrayed' because you were a 'betrayer' what right did you have to be mad at the victims who did not try such things?" "I believe as far as Repliku is concerned, we can directly show by his own testimony that he is in fact sentient, a person and has feelings and is not just a doll, whether he is sort of a clone physically or not. A clone is still a life form. An identitical twin is a life form matched to the other one in DNA. This fact of calling him not a life form is disturbing at best and is showing that you have a lack of comprehending life other than your own which some people say should not even exist, Larxene. I ask you, do you honestly feel he has no life while the Nobodies do? What makes you more -real- than he is when technically all Nobodies are is a copy off their former bodies and memories what they were like without a Heart or the original body? You react through memes, former emotions and memories. Therefore, can you be just as 'fake' and a doll as Repliku is?" "Do you feel if you had escaped from Sora that you would have faced death from Xemnas and the remaining Org members?" Harvey then sips his coffee and was getting a caffeine high. Maybe he should lay off it and go with a lemonade once he was finished with this cup.
Harvey shrugged. "I think I'd rather you let me do the opening questions and you put up some evidence to what is said so that you don't have a count against you already. I'm doing this also to help you. We have already seen one thing go well out of hand. If we let your questions stand and I do not offer up better ones, you will be objected till the cows come home. If you really want to do it though, go ahead and I guess I will go after and examine the answers. Just say you are rephrasing what you asked of her testimony." Harvey sipped some coffee and was now feeling jittery. This was going to be a long day.
Hmm...I debate on this one. I do agree the title is not a very good one and perhaps if it were to be done, maybe Mish's suggestion of "surveys" would be a good idea. I'm torn on it as I think that could work but would it go over well and would people just still use the spam zone any way? It is kind of what the spam zone is for.
OOC: Harvey was saying what Destiny just said. Basically it's to try each individual Org member and give them their set of charges individually but also analyze them as individuals and not as a whole group. It is to see if any of them are 'redeemable' and can be fixed with rehabilitation and prison time or to just slam the book and call it life in prison or death penalty. Because of the circumstances being that they are a unique 'race' of their own it is a matter of showing this but to decide if it is harmful or capable of mingling in society. Either way, some charges are of course going to stick but it also lets you know what the prosecution and defense can -negotiate- on later and the Judge will back or not. If it is separated like this as well, it means certain Org members may get off easier than others and others are going to be charged much harsher based on not just their crimes but also their demeanors psychologically. Hope that makes it more clear. This also helps the witnesses as well to show their perceptions more clearly to the Judge because of the demeanors posed to them at the times of dealing with the Org. Harvey shook his head. "I believe all of them are entitled to a fair trial and it is my and your job to present evidence to show they did these crimes, but it is also the point that we should understand the minds of the people who committed these acts and also to understand the witnesses' points of view too because of the defendants' actions that were so bad. That is the point here. If we go charging in like we are just out to toss charges on them with a loss of discretion, I think we will lose the battle and you will be slammed with being out of line as what happened to the Defense attorney. We can prove the charges. Just let me take care of the opening area here and show you what I mean. She's one part of the problem but in the end she was subservient to Marluxia and had obviously reasons for her decision to be so. My point is the Organization itself is NOT so organized and had problems within it and this is obvious with what all happened. This should be delved into." He then nodded listening to more. "We have been shown people can come back from Darkness...but only a handful with strong wills. Meaning that we have Sora who was aided by Kairi, and Riku who survived -in- Darkness and was later aided by King Mickey. This is different and these people were very strong in spirit. Not everyone can pull back from such a threshold."
OOC: The reason is because of how he initiated the statements instead of asking questions at points. He's 'telling' her how it is and this is what also ICSP's lawyer was doing. In the initial inquiries of the prosecution, it just looks bad; especially after the stuff ICSP was having his lawyer character do. Also, Harvey asked if he could first pose the questions off her statements of testimony bulletin first. If Pika wants to debate it he can. "I would rather that I ask the inquiries off the bulletin first and make some points. After that you could question. There are points in this case we have to hear before just charging in like a bull. She's the first Organization member up there and we need to understand them more. I don't know about you but I feel it necessary to comprehend how they think and also see if perhaps because they lack emotions but have memories of them that some things weren't lost to them that they just pathologically don't think about. If they can feel anything that way, then it shows any sign of progress. Do you understand? Also, it could get them to see their crimes too. It does help us in the end and gives them a fair trial because they are unique people. We could write them off as serial psychopaths but it is also the point that they are 'alien' in some ways of thought and I think we need to comprehend that and see just how different they are from Hearted people and what they can learn and do. Does this make sense to you?" Harvey sighed a bit having trouble translating what he meant. "In the end, I want to know if they are absolutely not capable of remorse, benevolence and also empathy. They may lack other emotions but these are often deeper soul feelings that they may just not be comprehending they have but in a selfish manner of just wanting their hearts back. If truly there is nothing at all to them, then this case will easily be handed over to the prosecution anyway and they will likely be put away for existence or get the death penalty because they are ultimate harms to society. However, if they can show more than that serial killer empty mentality and connect to a soul they possess, it may mean at least a few won't have to die or be locked up eternally. It does not change the 'charges'. It merely changes the outcome and also our comprehension of Nobodies, because as there are Heartless still, there will probably be more Nobodies and what happens then?"
Sora wouldn't remember the promise and Namine could have mentioned it but did not. The only thing Sora knew to do was thank Namine as the Journal reminded him. It seemed that instead of paying attention to Sora as she did in CoM she wanted to talk to Roxas instead. =:/ That I totally put on her since Sora would never recall. As for the Organization XIII... I think Sora probably didn't think about it and Riku probably had to tell him about the others when they went home because it wouldn't cross his mind as others said. heh heh.
I'm an evolutionist. As I continue college into archeology and anthropology, investigate physics, and history, there is just too much proof to believe in Creationism at all and it is entirely fictitious to me. As for Intelligent Design, it cannot be proven either so when I see proof to it, I would lean to it but as there is none at this time I discount it as well. I have read the Bible also numerous times as well as studied various religions and spirituality. Just so it doesn't get said I don't know both sides of the coin.
OOC: I Know but I'm cooking some food and I wanted to put it up before people kept going without me. I wish Pika would have waited cuz I had a whole thing written out. lol. So I didn't want to chance missing it and then I realized that I could have been better with the explanation so put more. Sorry about that. Harvey nodded to Janexna. She seemed to be the only other one making much sense on either side at the moment. Sometime he'd have to ask her to do a case with them both on the same side and he had this illusion in his head that they could just walk in, say a few words and walk out rich. Yeah...that'd be cool. Maybe they could have a Lawyer firm of their own. Janexna and Birdman...had a ring to it, no? Back on track. He looked at her. "Thank you. If you would, your Honor, I would appreciate this chance since both sides agree in the matter." He looked at Pika Power. "I'm sorry but the first thing you do is question. You need to question, then come out with the proof off those questions. You came in way too hard and we are trying to get a feel for things here. Hardball is only when you need to use it and done with a flair and some zazz."
Harvey sighed and wished the Pokemon had waited for him. He SAID he was ready for something but yet Pika Power bulldozed into it and massacred it. "Look, I request that Pika Powers' questions be pulled so I can ask the ones I have prepared off the statements given because I want answers. Not statements from the Prosecution just yet. May I please have the right to pose these in a better light, your Honor? I can prove at least most of what Pika Power has said but in a much better light that doesn't harm the Defense so much or the Offense. I ask you to allow me to question her with her initial testimony answers to go off of first."
OOC: Yeah, we can't use the manga as it's not really canon and also makes some events totally different from what happened in the games. The novel sticks more to it if you want to read that or just refresh yourself with the game. If anyone needs links to the scripts from CoM and KH2, let me know. I can post the links for you all. They are on gamefaq. Harvey worked away at his method of questions which he was going to first start off with what her testimony originally had been and go from there. As her statements went on it seemed Larxene was very opinionated and did not really go into depth studying people but for some amusement. It suggested a few things of her former life and perhaps she could be made more aware. As it stood, he saw no reason to really call for a death penalty against her even if she was 'cruel by nature' because sometimes these sort of people just needed a wake up call. He did think the charges against her could stick but even so, some may be dropped to lesser charges and perhaps some rehabilitation would do her some good. She really was not one of the Org members that had some of the absolute worst charges against her since they could not really try her for betrayal against the Organization itself, even though he was sure Xemnas's reaction to that would have been death as a penalty. He definitely wanted to hear some things from her that he'd ask when the time came to get more of a feel for the inner depth of her before making any decisions on what charges he'd fight to stick to her or not so he worked on writing more because that was essentially what had to be known to make correct judgment calls. Sora ate some more M&Ms despite the fact he had eaten nearly half the pound bag and was getting an upset stomach. He'd regret it later but for now it was something of a nervous tick to do. He now remembered how rotten she had been, taunting and ridiculing and doing low blows for her own amusement. He could not really think how he could have dealt with it a different way. Knowing the Org as for what he did though, he pondered why she did want to betray them, if there was something of a conscience in her or if it was a self-motivation for power, as it seemed clear it was for Marluxia. Had she been abused by the other members? Was she one of those types of people that fought against the world and laughed at it haughtily when it tried to give her crap? She was a bully and cruel but Sora was one of those sorts of people that would reach out to a person to try to find the good in that being if it existed at all. He just had to wonder if there was good in her or not so he wanted to pay attention. He wouldn't change his testimony when he went up but if he felt at all there was something there he would say so at least. Riku was not sure what to make of things at this point. Yeah, Larxene admitted to child abuse but she danced around the other charges and it made him curious to know if she actually did think she was justified in her acts or not. If so, she obviously had a strange upbringing to make her believe such. He was sure though that if she had a conscience at all, when Repliku went up to speak she might stop thinking him a doll and actually see he had at least the same plight as the Nobodies. Riku was not ever going to be happy about having to do what he was forced to because of how the Org was in the Castle Oblivion, but he had come to understand some of what they had done. It was an emotional thing and maybe the way to reach the Org was to listen to Saix's own words he had said about they lacked hearts but still remembered what it was like to have them. Then a -few- might at least see that their angles were wrong and some redemption could transpire. Repliku tried hard to not glare knives through Larxene. He was -not- a freaking doll!!!!! Oh he was mad but instead of glaring at her, he looked down and admired his shoes. How does a 'doll' know how to hate? How to love? How to want to just be real and belong? He had a few choice words for her and the rest of the Organization when he would get up there. Oh yeah...his mind was churning with ideas but he had to also make it constructive instead of destructive. After all, it had to mean something other than just a doll, teenager with angst just yelling and screaming his frustrations or it would be ignored. He needed composure and facts and sanity. He'd be having to reach for those three things because it had been so hard to control himself in the past and not do something overboard. He also wanted no advice from anyone else. It was that advice and listening to others that got him in the mess in the first place. Repliku's mental thoughts of the moment though simply revolved around "Grrrrrr" as he tried to force himself to get his head on straight.
It's hard to obtain anywhere but Japan unless you just order it online and get some swap magic. But we can do it. This is one of those pet peeve things that YES I want the game in English but at the same time, it isn't happening. We just have to accept it. =:/
358/2 Days and KH Coded probably wouldn't have been needed if the games were expanded more. In the end, the only game we'd need would have been BBS as it is prior to the KH other games by 10 years. KH Coded to me seems such a waste as it's a cell phone game that we may not even get and even if we do people may have to all upgrade cell phones to even play it. The more I hear about it, the more I think to myself why this couldn't have been explained in KH originally to show Riku and King Mickey's sides of things instead of this whole side venture. I also heard it was supposed to give hints to the next villain of the future for KH3, which is more disappointing because it's a side game. Maybe the best choice would have been to make 358/2 Days and KH Coded on a separate disk to go on sale with KH2:FM+ so that more people could have had the chance to see the other sides and also we could have gotten KH2:FM+ as well. I do think both games could have been just included with KH2 and expanded the game out more but in this case I guess it's all about marketing. Still annoyed Riku and King Mickey's events are going to be on a silly cell phone game when they seem more serious than much of what happened in KH to Sora.
Wow...that's really horrible. There was another case like this where a woman was locked up for 8 years also from Austria. Makes ya wonder. It also makes me wonder how his wife didn't figure anything out at all for 24 years and the girl was living down in the basement. This guy must have been really good at hiding them or his wife was really not the brightest apple on the tree. I hope that girl will be alright and her kids too that have had no education and all. It's going to be hard for all of them to adapt to things.
Yeah, I think it was good she called the police, even if it was for a selfish reason. It may have also been because she had a 'conscience' too. I would call the police anonymous if something like this was going on and it was like that. I would feel obligated to put a stop to the behavior. It is so downgrading to children and women it is pathetic. I just am amazed these women actually fall for wanting this kind of life and could stand to raise a boy that won't get a real education and will be mistreated or a girl that is going to be potentially raped and pregnant by the time she's 13 and then claimed for life. If these people get out of this because some woman from the outside called in, it will just be really lame. However, it is a possibility, as much as law can sometimes be a pain, letting people get away with these sorts of awful things because of a 'technicality'.
Well if that's all that happened, yeah it does seem light. I just meant that I'd hate to see it also go too harsh as well. Thanks for updating me. I was looking for what happened and what charges they had but google failed me. =:/ and I was too lazy to keep looking after 2 pages.
I put 'no' because I gathered the question was more on stereotypes, labeling and bias due to stereotyping someone based off appearance, which I feel is wrong for the most part. I think maybe there should have been an option of 'sometimes it is a necessary evil', because though I hate stereotyping people as I feel everyone has many levels to them and is not so simple to just slap a sticker on as in 'he's gay, he's emo, he's a gang banger, she's a ****' etc, sometimes people try to 'live out' a stereotype. I like to dye my hair black with red streaks in it at times and wear black. I am not emo and am very clear on it. I have a neutral disposition to life, am a 'realist' instead of a pessimist and like various types of music, play sports, and don't write bad poetry. If we go by the 'label' of emo, a person has to be a variety of things as society assigns it such as a cutter, wears shaggy hair and baggy pants, goth sort of clothes, listens to aggressive music about painful life, hates people and whines a lot about how much life sucks. Even those who 'say' they are emo can't all live up to the stereotype. If a person is gay they aren't going to automatically go get rainbow clothes, have a fascination with pink, color their fingernails, be immaculate, talk in that passive 'gay' voice, be bishonen (if male), be a butch (if female), are also into sado-masochism or other sexual behaviors frowned on, etc. Does anyone ever fit -all- of these labels people place on gays? Doubtful. I could go on and on as to why I feel stereotypes themselves are wrong because they seldom dig in and get to know a person for who that person really is. Labeling a person though is kind of a necessary evil at times such as when you describe a crime scene to a police man. Was the man holding the gun white? Did he have a Hispanic accent? Was he wearing pants with his underwear showing and a Strongbad T-shirt? Was there a skinny anorexic looking girl beside him with reddened eyes? If I describe someone writing a paragraph about the person I will have to describe what that person looks like so people get an impression. If they put it in their heads however that just because I say a person is black, wears loose fitting pants and a wife beater and a bandanna that he's a ganger, that's not on me. That's on them. We do have to label things also as we are a people that knows some of our own kind aren't well, great people. There are those who will try to beat you up, those who bully you, those who may at any moment blow up because the world sucks and try to take you with them in their irrationality, those who get on you because you wore the same shirt two times in the same week, those who think you are stupid and hold you down, those who passively aggressively ruin your world by talking behind your back etc. Knowing that there are these kinds of people out there, labels kind of automatically spring to mind as a way to warn yourself and others that this person is bad news. Is it always right? Of course not. But I do think on some level it is rather instinctual as is prejudice. We can overcome it though and if we must use labels, at least do it with a correct assessment if we open our minds to realize people are more than they seem. However, if someone talks behind my back and others tell me some story that isn't true...I'm still going to call the person a few labels of my own, even if I know there is more to that person, because they really ticked me off. One thing I have taken to doing though in recent years is to say that a person is 'being' something instead of saying the person 'is' something. If I say they are 'being' a B, it doesn't mean I always think the person is, because that wouldn't be true. If I say a person IS emo, it implies the person always is emo, but if I say that he/she is 'being' emo, it means I am recognizing that the mood currently the person is in sucks to me. In this way it's kind of a mental discipline to myself to say a person can't -always- be in that state so it is a 'temporary' label that later I would remove when I'm shown later something more to go off of. So, labeling...sometimes is a necessity for description, sometimes investigation and to make things simple at the onset of meeting someone, that first impression if you will. However, if people don't dig further than that and just keep the label on someone because of that first impression, that's prejudice, bias and shows the person doesn't care to investigate into the matter more.
I don't know why there are still people that think it was -boys- who beat her up. It was 6 girls who beat her up. So it's not a matter of 'respecting girls'. It was girls against a cheerleader who seemed to have a snotty attitude and was pushing their buttons and they decided to take revenge against her for saying nasty things on Myspace. So they got the brilliant idea to go beat her up and post a movie on Youtube about it. It's not really a good thing she got beaten up of course, but it was girls who did it; not boys. Also, I don't think the kids deserve 'prison time' for it. I know some will disagree with that but I grew up in a rough neighborhood where this kind of thing has happened and the reason it's getting so much publicity is because a cheerleader was beaten up and also they were stupid to make a movie on youtube. Taking this stuff out, the kids did take her somewhere and beat the crap out of her but didn't try to kill her. If they go to prison, these kids may have -no- chance to become better people. Prison is really ugly and has a tendency to turn adults into repeat offenders because they can't get jobs, they meet others who offer to 'help' them and get them in bad career choices, and they also can get beaten up or raped there. Now, put a teenager tried as an adult there and this could really ruin their lives substantially more. This doesn't mean I don't think they should be punished. However, I think being in a Juvenile Detention Home away from their families, doing community service, and finishing school from a D-home is more the way to go and even though it is hard, it is a form of rehabilitation so that when they would leave, they could still do things that those who've been to prison have a hard time doing. Some community service to get them to do jobs that help others and making an impression on them might turn them around. Being around 'worse' kids that grew up in harsher situations might open their eyes. Being away from the shielding of moms and dads that aren't taking this as serious as they should would be a reality slap. Made to finish school so they can get jobs etc would be a necessity so they can be productive at all to society. Since this is the only form of 'rehabilitation' we even have, I think it would be better to use it because adults just don't have this luxury and there's enough proof to show many people sent to prison for things like this come out worse after. Sorry for rambling on, but I thought I'd present the case that we do have a different way of approaching this that might be more constructive than keeping these kids locked up and permanently integrating them into a life of crime instead of doing what we should with them which is trying to get them to be better people and see the error of their ways. There are so many people in prison as adults and kids don't need to be there too for this sort of thing. Hope some people out there agree.
One of the things I've always pondered is that the Org really did not have emotions currently but just memes to do guided things of habit they had in the past and have reactions similar too. They were very expressive, more so often than someone with emotions would be as if they were compensating for the lack of them. Roxas and Namine were different but the others were the way they were. Another thing that kind of makes me wonder is they call Repliku a failure for ...acting on his heart. Perhaps he is the first replica to do so but if they had really paid attention and studied him and his nature with a 'synthetic' heart as they say, there might have been some way to figure out a direction to get their hearts back in another way than their big plan. I do wonder how Vexen could make a 'clone' to include having a Heart and debate whether Repliku actually had a 'synthetic' heart or not as the Org members had said. How does one make a 'fake' heart? If they had the power to do this at any rate, maybe it should have told them that there were other options than making a big pseudo Kingdom Hearts to collect all those real Hearts and maybe they too could have done something. Of course, I'm straying a bit and it's just one of those odd thoughts and I wonder where Repliku's heart actually came from. To me, he didn't really 'act' like Riku even when he was forced to have his memories and act out scenes. Then again, Sora started becoming more aggressive as well in KH:CoM too and Roxas was pretty aggressive as well. It kind of makes me wonder if Namine's ability, if not wanted, makes people pretty angry somehow because even if they can't recall what was done, it was. Before Repliku's memories were altered he seemed pretty calm, even if unstable, but part of his instability really was because of how the Org mistreated him and reminded him he was 'fake'. I couldn't consider him fake though because he had his own feelings, depth and could make decisions on his own. He couldn't be more fake than Nobodies who were supposed to not even exist and had no emotions. I also wonder if it was why Riku had more sympathy for Roxas, Namine and Axel while others at first chose to hate the Nobodies as a whole. I'm not making too much sense right now but am curious on what others think.
