Cries in Vain - Bullet for my Valentine
this wasnt an accident as such, i was eight and my brother (6) and i were playing in the sea with a ball i think at the West Strand (north coast of northern ireland). ofc the west strand is a shelving beach which means, for anyone that doesnt now, it gets deep then shallow then deep because of sand bars. anyway we were playing and we started to drift down the beach. by the time we realised there were slippy rocks under our feet and the waves were like 2 ft high and the water was up to my chin. i waved frantically for my parents to come and save us and they thought i was just going "hey isnt this fun?" when they realised something was wrong my brother had lik fainted or something and i had to keep him afloat. well, my dad twisted his ankle coming out and a wave hit my mum in the face, breaking her sunglasses in two. but we both survived and have been going back there every year since. fun times indeed.
i think its that young people expect too much out of live. when things dont go the way they had planned they think, what did I do wrong? they put themselves down, blaming themselves for anything and everything that goes wrong. this shuts them off from everyone else around them cutting off any potential help. then they might turn to suicide. tbh i at one point considered suicide in one of my very negative mood swings. but its just too final and permanent of a thing to do, especially in your teenage years your always changing your mind. also, i think that young people are made to grow up too quickly so having to deal with things at an age where they cant handle it. im only 16 and im already worried about interest rates, house prices, terrorism, politics etc
i get the feeling this argument is going to go on for the rest of time, cos neither side is probly ever going to be able to prove for certain that the other is wrong, and as long as theres the slightest chance that both are possible, it will continue
for me it has to be Silmarillion. i tried, then gave up and left it a few years. came back and managed to finish it after about 3 months. i kept being reminded of the bible with the constant "Bob, son of Jim, second cousin of Frank...."etc etc. theres also canterbury tales STILL IN YE OLDE ENGLISH!! found it at the side of my english room, tried to read the first page and nearly passed out from the effort. in comparison, i pre-ordered half blood prince, got it on saturday morning and had it read by sunday evening :D. but yeah, Silmarillion had to be the most difficult book in modern english to read.
its hard to think about because of infinite part of it all. the fact that we live on a finite spherical planet means that we automatically assume that it has to have an end, which limits our ability to think otherwise. its just the way our brains work. oh the bit about the universe expanding and then contracting is called the "Big Crunch" and it means the universe is on a loop. theres also the "Big Rip" where the universes expansion starts to speed up and then everything rips apart at the atomic level (lovely). then theres "Heat Death" where the universe gets so big and the energy is so spread out that the average temperature drops so low that everything dies and atoms stop moving. but, again, all of these things are on massively vast time scales. i think that space is infinite and our the matter in our univers is spreading out over a larger "area" in that space.
but i thought that god could never 'want' as such. and i dont get how people say that when someone dies and goes to heaven they are going to a better place. surely if god was so benevolent and caring he would skip the earth part and we would all live in heaven, he would not put us on earth with the chance to sin? or am i completely wrong, i hate when i say something based on something false so feel free to correct me
i think, either way, it would be safest and smartest to change our attitudes now. it couldnt hurt, and we might be safing the planet. and about it being only a small percentage that we create, our climate is rather delicate, so even a small amount could make a big change. tho after seeing the program on the big global warming swindle im not too sure anymore. but i definitely think that something has to be done, if not about global warming at least the dwindling fossil fuels etc
on my bus, everday on the way home, this sixth year would always bully me. id almost come home crying everyday (i was in like second year) but id manage to hide it from my parents, cos i didnt want them involved. in the end, my cousin also got the bus and she sorted it out. probly best to stick with family and friends (preferably older/bigger) on this one. tho ive never really been in this situation, so i dont know how relevant this is (British school system if you were wondering about the years)
im agnostic, but i would never link my gaming with my choice of religion. it's my personal choice in life. it might have had some small indirect affect, but i havnt based my decision on it. and if you want to debate religion you should try the debate in intelligent discussion, debate corner.
from my knowledge of GCSE physics, it would be almost impossible to send someone to Gliese 581. firstly theres the fact that if you wanted to send it at high speed youd probly kill anyone on board. if you lowered the speed, it would take so long the person/people would have died several times over before getting there. cryostasis, could work, tho its too unreliable atm. the other option is a generation ship , basically a large community where the original occupants great, great, great, great grandchildren would reach the planet. also, with the engines theres a but of a Catch-22. to accelerate you need fuel and big engines. this increases the weight, which increases the force needed to accelerate which means you need more fuel etc. gets more complicated the more you think about it. but i suppose if its our last hope after destroying this planet then i guess we should probly go for it and hope for the best:)
im agnostic. i think that the idea of religion with the morals codes, the comfort/support and unity are all well and good. but i think any of the good has long since been destroyed by humans. also, i believe that God cannot be omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscent all at the same time. there would be no suffering then. i havnt seen anthing, or at least very little, to make me think that there is an all-powerfull, caring being that is looking after us. religion just annoys me, and people who take it too seriously annoy me as well. im fine with people having religion, as long as they dont harm anyone else in the process. unfortunately, it doesnt work that way
i, personally get depressed. the stress tends to build up during the day then i get relly down in the evening. i find that talking to my friends over msn usually helps (tho i think they worry about me now:( ). im usually ok by the next morning as i sleep it off. sometimes i cry when im trying to get to sleep (helps tire me out too). i could use any tips cos my GCSEs start on wed and last for two months, and im kinda get a pressured by the revision
yeah, i read that theyre calling it jadardite cos it doesnt actually have anything to do with the real element Krypton. Also, they knew the chemical properties because the scientist working on it did the 'substance' googled it (of all things) and found one of the comics and lex luther had a box with kryptonite with its chemical properties on the side of it, that were the same as what he had just worked out. but the jadardite doesnt have flourine in it, so TECHNICALLY its not kryptonite, but you can call it whatever you want!:) if you want the exact chemical composition its : sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide, wuite a mouthfull. tho it doesnt glow green it floureces pinky-orange under UV light
the problem with time travel is it al gets very confusing and complicated when you start to think of all the consequences and effects. i always thought that time travel was impossible, as you would 'technically' be creating more matter at that point in time AND matter would be exsiting in the same place at the same time which is also impossible. then, as has already been said, how going back in time to meet yourself would change everything that happens afterwards creating more alternate realities and possibly changing the one you came from. also, technically anyone who goes back before now has already it and any changes that theyve made have already been done. all in all, its there are too many variables and unbreakable laws of physics being broken for this to make sense. sorry to burst your bubble:o but i suppose well just have to wait and see what happens in the future....or is that the past???:p
Well, i saw my bro on here (Cloaked-Schemer) and thought hey what an immense forum, and decided to join. I love the final fantasies and kingdom hearts and have loved a lot of what ive seen on here already. Can't wait to start posting! :D
