No, he doesn't admit it in that book. He actually instead makes up a theoretical "If I did it" then blah blah, trying to prove he didn't do it. It's rather lame and just so he can make money to pay his lawyer dues. Basically, this guy is saying O.J. confessed to him about it. There's nothing, however, saying that O.J. himself has said anything out loud himself. The book is being said to be both legitimate and also fraudulent. So, in the end, O.J didn't admit anything to the public and for all we know, this guy may be telling the truth or spinning a tall tale.
Riku turned as Axel had his 'late realization' about what was said earlier about him. That was just too funny to Riku though he put on a serious face of bedazzling innocence and shrugged as a response. "What?" *blink blink* Sora laughed. Axel was cool to him. He had such a unique personality and it was so vibrant. He could totally buy it that Axel really did just now figure out that Riku played him. Maybe Sora laughed though also because Riku was always doing this to Sora too and leaving Sora going "huuhh?" so it was nice to see that Sora was not the only person to be caught unaware. "He so got you." "Well, isn't this surprising. The fire god just got burned." Repliku smirked because that was just hilarious. He had to have some laugh out of this whole mess. He went back to writing on the paper he had and tapped the pen on his cheek a couple times to get back his train of thought.
This de-repping thing is really getting old. I had pm'd an admin on it and gotten no response as of yet but will try yet again with another. CtR did help but if it's still going on...really whoever you are, please look away and don't post here. I can understand if people are too intimidated to post here. Hell, message me in PM if you'd like to discuss things. Just please stop the de-repping. It is a bully tactic and this is a -debate- section. If you can't say words here then really, you have no right to use that de-rep button at all. We are -doing- what we are supposed to here. You are not. It's extremely passive aggressive. =:/ Why do you think it's wrong? Science is the examination of the world around us and such, collecting data and pooling things found together to form a bigger picture. Evolution is studying where we came from and all life on the world etc and becoming more familiar with our world and lives. They are theories, yes, but they hold up because of presented facts. A skeleton is a fact. A series of skeletons/fossils over centuries, thousands of years etc, is a fact, and there are many other facts than just that which are researched continuously. We apply 'theories' to explain them. Our own evolution even to this day is a fact, such as people being born without wisdom teeth and appendices because both are not as needed anymore since we aren't ripping through raw meat, processing that meat, or eating very hard vegetables and nuts etc. The interpretations are what gets questioned and sometimes changes. Not the facts themselves. So what fact does Creationism have? It has a book. It has a leap of faith to believe writing in a book. Any person can go out and explore the living and fossil evidence we have out there and come to their own conclusions about it, even though some people will lie and say otherwise. However, one book and a leap of faith...should 1. never be examined to validate whether things are true or false and 2. should just be believed no matter what. It's a desire to believe in something simple and write off the miracle of life itself which whether you believe in God or not, evolution and the world through science really is much more astounding than any religious book or scripture could make it. It's factual and in your face and beautiful, creative and destructive. There's no need for hocus pocus explanations when instead the wonders of existence itself are just amazing. Whether you believe in a supernatural entity or not, to merely believe in the words of some men years ago who were ignorant to existence itself seems small when you can look around you and learn and explore what life is all about; knowing why something is as it is. Science adjusts and corrects mistakes of hypotheses because as we grow more advanced and can study more, we find some errors in past ideals based on reanalysis of past data and also new material. If it did not change, I'd actually worry a lot more because it would show that science has closed itself down to the right to explore and find truth. So, can you say what makes you exactly believe in Creationism other than you are Christian? Is there any research that makes you come to this conclusion that it is just 'the way' it works? Or is it in fact just a leap of faith and that's that? Have you tried to understand evolution or just written it off because it's supposedly anti-Christian? Not trying to be mean here at all. I am curious to understand the other side of the coin in all this. I actually appreciate you posting here.
It has to be over 9000 now. On a serious note though, yeah, this was a major earthquake. I haven't heard of one this strong in some time. I hope no one on the site is affected by it and that China can recover alright from the devastation. When mother nature strikes, it shows us that we are not on top of the world as some people feel.
What I am saying is that there is a serious racism issue with Pro Life as well. Every poster I have ever seen for Pro Life is a white baby. Statistically speaking, white babies are also the ones that most often get adopted while babies that are not as cute, have a questionable parenting background or of other 'races' do not stand up to the chance as well. Why no pictures of an Asian, Black, Latino baby? Also, the older a child gets, the less likely it is to be adopted and instead bounces around in foster care. Also, the most people who support Pro Life are middle class families that are not in strife themselves with the same dilemmas of those who are poor, under age or in rotten places. They have no idea what it's like to suffer that way and if they did suffer that way and see others with all the pain, they would see the environments make a world of difference in viewpoint. The vast majority also do not adopt though they declare tons of parents out there just can't wait to and have open arms in hope. They don't have to raise kids in that environment nor see kids bounced around in poor places through foster care that pays some person to watch a kid no one wants. I really don't think Pro Life is very fair and balanced at all as it entirely removes a woman's options from her by forcing her to have a child and either give it up for adoption or keep it. Now, the other issue I have with Pro Life is that they are so worried about what is -in- the womb and that it is born, but few people actually care what happens to a child later on and don't explore how the system works. Pro Life is just supporting a goal of saying that you -must- have the child and give it up for adoption or keep it. Pro Choice exemplifies that you get help to have a child if you want it. You can give it up for adoption and get aid, and you also have the right to decide for abortion. It gives the power to the woman. If the females here want to give up kids to adoption, they surely have the right and Pro Choice allows that too. If they want to abort, they have the right. If they want to keep it they have a right. Pro Life is invasive. Pro Choice is not. Pro Choice helps a young mother have the ability to be in charge instead of letting families or the man make the choice for having a child. Women have in the past lost children they actually -wanted- because of laws and Pro Choice puts the power in her hands to say she wants it and can get government aid. It won't allow her to lose that child and she can even get government housing through Pro Choice. As long as she's not abusive or negligent, she is supported. This is why I support Pro Choice and hope people will see that though they have their own choices they'd make, why it is important to not let this right slip away. People bring up 'rape' again, but also let's take into account that many girls get coerced to having sex as well and sometimes things happen. Coercion and 'peer pressure' can be a strong thing to lure a girl to have sex with a guy. Some guys do go about (and I know enough of them) trying to coax females into a state of security to have sex and then just dump them after. Women are statistically also shown to be more likely to have stronger emotions of 'love' and often affection means more than it can to a man at first. They are more likely to gain more emotional feelings from being coaxed into it. Is it fair that a woman after having sex at times feels very used and then on top of that gets pregnant too? Also, let's take into account two teenagers that are close and have sex exploring and all and something happens even if they use protection. Should they be so punished as to have the government declare they have the kid, the girl gets treated like crap as well as the boy in school, then they will be -forced- to give it up unless the family hops in to take the child and care for it? There are a lot of things that happen that people really just do not take into account if Pro Life wins the battle. As I said before, I am all for keeping a kid and encouraging the girl it will work out because I would not have sex with someone if I didn't give a crap in the first place. I wouldn't want to give it up for adoption and let it go into the nasty system where I won't be able to supervise that child's welfare at all. I also wouldn't want abortion because personally I do feel unless there's some reason medically or emotionally not to have it, I would want it. However, the mother is the main concern here. I would have to choose a mother to make her choice over a fetus any day. Yes, people who casually might get abortions...that feels very wrong to me, but at the same time, most people who get abortions aren't like that. They are doing it because they simply -know- they are in no state to care for a baby at the time. It is -not- an easy choice for any woman to make. Abortion and Adoption both leave nasty mental trauma on any mother. They don't get happy endings like in the movies. Why is there no sympathy for the mother at all? Why does a fetus have more of a right to live than a woman who can produce another offspring when she is ready and her life is stable? The only sympathy I hear for a mother is if she was raped and I'm sorry but there are just a ton of other things that can go wrong and she gets no compassion at all. Pro Life really to me seems to be very fascist and controlling and a mother's instinct on whether she can raise a kid effectively or not by nature is totally denied by the opinions of others. I'm glad this law can't be forced on animals other than humans. I sympathize with why people choose Pro Life but this question was 'adoption' or 'abortion' and in reality, both are options to Pro Choice and if you choose one or the other, it's your right to do so. No one should be able to take -your- choice away.
The problem with saying Dark Riku is more powerful than Dawn Riku in a way is that Dawn Riku doesn't have his own game to show his growth etc and was just meant as a supporting character. Riku took on Ansem all alone whereas Sora and 2 others beat Rikunort. It wasn't just Darkness that let Riku beat Xehanort. He's a great strategist and just is really persistent and strong. If Dawn Riku had the chance to show himself more without being under Sora's shadow, I'm sure he would have had more abilities himself too. Also, WttD is a level 3 weapon, but at the same time if you did not give Sora boosts that you made in the synthesis shop, Riku is physically stronger than Sora and has more defense. So the 3 leveled weapon was lame but also Riku doesn't have Keychains from everywhere like Sora either. If WttD is a -base- Keyblade like Kingdom Key...Kingdom Key always is level 1. If Riku were able to put keychains on WttD, it would kick butt. I'm pretty sure Riku will end up with some unique abilities because of the path he chose which will reflect both dark and light and he will be unique because of it. However, we can only view so much of what he could do since he doesn't get a game time of his own where he's the main character at all.
I think she's still just upset and frustrated. As I said before, how about talking to her about something else instead like other friends or events and stuff? You made your point and I'm sure she gets it but doesn't want to talk about that particular situation anymore. Then, she won't be so mad.
This is quite true. I suppose my point was that without friends he may not have taken up the whole Keyblade deal and looking for the King etc in the first place and instead forced to survive and really research what is going on so he knows what to do. That's why it makes it difficult for me to say 'where' he'd either mature or die. The story I think would have been different.
I agree with Sora. I think she's just tired of hearing she's being pathetic and it is kind of frustrating to her that no one sees her point of her emotional state. I can't say though I would have said much different than you did or I just would have said 'okay' and moved on to something else because it does seem silly to cry because someone isn't around that I really like for one time. I'm sure it's more of a frustration as she pointed out 8 others said it to her too. Maybe to help fix things but not cater to this, you could try talking to her of other things so she knows that you aren't mad at her and she doesn't feel too ostracized for her emotions.
Good question. Sora is definitely not a loner like Riku can be. Sora's powers mostly seem to be involved around his amiability and ability to make friends and he draws on that. I think he is bound to make friends wherever he goes and would be pretty depressed if he could not. Also, he is a defender by nature and so the battles he does get in are for other people and not just himself. I also see Riku as a defender too but he is more a critical thinker while Sora follows his heart. So...I'm not sure Sora would ever be without friends in some manner. If Donald and Goofy weren't there, someone would probably fill the void. However, if he had to go about things alone, it would be serious grow up time for Sora. He couldn't depend on his friends to cover for his nature of following his heart as Donald and Goofy and also Riku and Kairi do. He would have no choice but to also adapt a critical thinking mode and mature very swiftly or be sank for it. I think though he 'could' adapt if given the time to see and hopefully he wouldn't come out too jaded for it. I do know though he'd be in for some serious reality checks because his flaws could really screw him if others aren't there to point out the 'obvious'. His friends do in a way keep him naive which doesn't help him in the long run. So, I'd have to say if given the time he'd need to adjust and he didn't end up in the clutches of evil that used him, he could grow up and be okay but he'd not be happy about it and hold out in hopes he would get friends as it's his nature. However, if he's too naive and does get used by evil forces, he could be a goner, as well as if he faced too much animosity from others who refused his friendly nature. Since it's a Disney/FF game where people aren't that bad though, it's hard to point out in the actual KH universe, where he'd flunk without friends. It could be as early as ending up in Traverse Town with no supprt or direction and he'd just stagnate there until evil stomped him, or it could end up later than that.
I do hear what you are saying, Sora, but my point was you are driving the nail in too deep. When I said it was selfish, I did not mean that you were reaching out for attention yourself. I do get what you attempted to do, to toss some reality of the situation in there. Just as I said, I think you pulled the trigger too soon and that is what makes it seem selfish. Everyone falters. I know I don't have the most ideal life and could go on with an essay describing how crappy it can be at times but unless I generally need some assistance to get my head straight, might be using 'my life' as an 'example' to get a point across in another area of the forums or something like that, I won't. When helping someone else, I do have to say it is just the wrong angle to go at. At least in the beginning. Sometimes people do need a slap of reality to say 'look, we all suffer and our lives aren't all peachy keen' but I generally save -that- speech for when someone is moping and just won't cut it out, despite all the help they've received etc. I am straight forward as well and am not trying to get on you about it. We cannot all handle problems the same way and sometimes a bunch of stupid problems surmounts and it looks a lot worse because you get buried for a while. CtR is probably going through the finals crap in college right now and other things. I know how that feels as demands are very high on me at the moment too. I'm not going to fake I understand the other parts of what is going on with her and if she wants to talk, I am more than happy to listen. Being straight up is important but also having benevolence is too. I see what you are trying to do but it just seems that you drove home a thing that can push someone over the edge instead of using it as a wake up call for one of those people in life that is always depressed. Do you see my point? There is a line I draw on my compassion too because when people just want to emo and angst it's time for them to be told to get some mental help from professionals and I have to move on because I refuse to let myself be dragged down after doing so in the past and realizing how miserable it made me. For those who want help, I would probably always be there. For those who don't, I have to move on. I just think here that perhaps you 'moved on' too soon and it would be counterproductive instead of how you intended it. Also, you said Kay is an adult. I am too, but I will say this...being an adult means you don't have others to always fall back on. The security blanket is just not there as much and it can be -harder- to cope with as well as in some situations better. Adults feel pain too and can be in a lot harder of situations as the really real world outside of school is not all fun and games. It's not easier to be an adult than it is to be a teen.
That would be the reason there is Pro Choice. Pro Choice, despite what some people think, actually means that a woman has the choice to make up her own mind of whether to give up the baby for adoption, abort the child, or keep the child. This is why again, I do find this topic to be elusive and supporting adoption over letting a woman have the choice herself to make because there are so many circumstances and situations with deciding what a person wants to do. It's easy to know what -my- choice might be and I'd try to encourage it if I'm in that situation, but at the same time, it may not be the choice of another couple in the same scenario and I just think sometimes people would be better off minding their own businesses instead of making someone's choice 100% more difficult. Animals make up their choices in nature and women should in our society have the right to decide. There is seldom a girl I have known who had to make a choice that thought it was so easy. Abortion or Adoption have results that you lose the rights to the child ultimately and really other people should stop acting like it's just prostitutes or ****ty girls who make these choices. There's a high opinion in that regards and it just is not true. Contraceptives themselves can be considered 'abortion makers'. I think the only thing I have against Abortion is when for no health reasons a woman will choose to abort when a child could be made to successfully survive outside the womb. So the last trimester, I think it's just generally bad form, but otherwise, I try to reserve judgments because the world is not a perfect place and there are big choices. I know some girls who felt they had to abort and also a couple who gave out kids for adoption and others who chose to keep their kids. Those who have made a choice to abort or adopt lose out either way. Also, the adoption processes are horrible. Some people insist that giving a kid up for adoption is the way to go and there are 'tons of families' out there who want kids. Of course, most of these people saying this are all middle class suburbanites that wouldn't adopt, even though they would be in a position to do so. Kids bouncing around a system and all is just wretched to their lives and causes a lot of pain for them too. So, I have to say no one else really has a right to choose for a woman what she feels is best because in the end Pro Choice is again not about abortion. It's about any options available to her and rose colored glasses really do need to come off some people's eyes regarding it. If you aren't poor, don't have a family that has a lot of strife and imbalance, aren't in an aggressive neighborhood, your lover isn't the type to run off and go be with someone else, and don't have a lack of stability you won't see the options for what they truly are. Women that have to make the choices of adopting or aborting hurt because of it. It is a very painful thing. They aren't heartless. Most have very good reasons for it. If we take Pro Choice away though, then other people control a woman's body and her choices and options and that is a form of slavery and government taking over the home life. I have to say that I'd much rather, if I was caught in the situation, try to help keep the baby and raise it rather than either two of the other options, but I certainly am not in everyone's situation either and I don't feel others than the parents should have the choice to dominate other's lives and take away their options. Sometimes just -having- the options can be a comfort to a couple so they feel less pressured in all of the angst etc. So though personally I'd opt to try to help keep the baby, I think that Pro Choice is a much better option than Pro Life on a moral standing and also on the level that the more choices we have taken away from us, the more we become fascist. You may wonder why I say we become more fascist. (Or you are tired of reading my essay. sowwy!) During WWII, there was a drive to have German women have babies, whether out of wedlock or not and that they'd get government support etc, especially if they had children from SS men and if the person was Aryan. They were pushed to this behavior and some complied. It is also a statistic fact that 'white babies' will get adopted today more than any other child. Also, if a child is not adopted by the time they are out of toddler stage, most bounce around in foster homes etc. Note the fact on most bulletins that post about Pro Life...the pictures are of white babies? I haven't seen ONE that shows a different ethnic group and find that kind of disturbing considering white babies are the ones that mostly get adopted if given up and there are tons of other ethnicities out there. Think about it. So I can be 'pro-raising the kid myself' but still believe in Pro Choice with no guilt at all. I just can't support taking personal freedom away.
Riku waved as the two came back. "No, there isn't. We are just waiting on the call of the other Defense Attorney and then we are set to hear the Judge's decision. I think people are just getting hyped up and needed to stretch their legs meanwhile...or everyone had to go to the bathroom because Namine and you left. " Riku snerked. This was kind of strange. He began to wonder if the bathrooms were co-ed or something.
Riku pushed Roxas off him and smirked. "Kairi ran off to avoid it all. I'd worry more about Axel getting jealous of me....Just so you know, Axel, this is all one-sided. Roxas is cute and all, but I just don't think we are meant to be together." He then let out a laugh. "Roxas, you seem to have balance issues. Are you wearing skates?" Sora snickered and wondered where Kairi and Namine now both were. Namine sure had been gone for some time.
OOC: No idea. I guess that might actually be what Erkz is waiting for since everyone else of the lawyers are done. And I so wanted to hear what would go through tonight. lol "Run while you can, Kairi" Sora waved bye to her as he continued to sit where he was by the Judge. She was so awesome. <3 <3 "Seems Captain Sparrow wanted to help you fall on Kairi again. Can't you go find Namine to fall all over, Roxas?" Sora gave a wave to Jack, cordially. Riku looked off after a sort of candid smirk. Fortunately Kairi was leaving. Why she and others said he could have any girl out of a bunch of squealing fangirl base he never really was exposed to...oh yeah, that's just what he was attracted to. He was too serious and 'real' to go out with some girl that hopped around acting all hyper. He hated to admit in his heart he did have some feelings for Kairi, but at the same time, they weren't enough to change his mind that he knew Sora and Kairi were meant to be together and that he was very happy for them. She had turned more into a sister since that realization hit him. He figured he just had to bide his time till the right girl came along for him. It was bound to happen sooner or later, but he seriously doubted he could want some of his many fan girls that people kept saying he had. In a way he was glad he hardly ever saw these fans in the first place.
"I can already tell he is. You are pretty hot, Kairi. If I could pretend I was that clumsy I would have tried if you were free." >. > "Would you both stop hitting on my girlfriend???" Sora said it pretty loud but he was also joking with it to not make it seem like he was taking any of this seriously. He couldn't help though but feel a tinge of jealousy. Oh what an evil little emotion that was.
Monty Python films are favorites. Also, the Princess Bride, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Shaun of the Dead are also good ones.
Everyone hates a complainer that always is looking down on life but CtR is hardly a person that goes through depression all of the time. I don't mean to be rude here but seriously, telling someone else that they should cheer up and do what you want while at the same time tossing it in a person's face how miserable your own life is...that just seems kind of selfish. Yes, she may be handling things badly, but really, why bring your own matters into it? EVERYONE suffers and sometimes people need a little motivation or help to get back up on their feet. Even if they need a good yelling, usually the last thing they need is someone doing the 'my life is worse than yours' stuff at them. The 'competition' for whose life sucks worse... most people will just get annoyed and blow you off. Again, I apologize because this probably will offend you. Just I think it's really the wrong angle here to approach if you want someone to listen.
Kwweeehhh??!!
You have an obsession with ice and freezing things.
